Love this place! We usually go to the Bensons in Derry because it’s closer to our house but this one is even bigger! They also have a great selection of flowers and plants. We got a bunch of flowers for our garden and love them. Everyone is super nice and helpful. Highly

I am conflicted here because I really want to support this local business. The staff we have had contact here for the most part were great and we truly did want to give them our business. The problem is with their design center and the owners unreasonable policy. We spent a lot of time with multiple departments for a remodel. When we were ready to commit we asked if the quote had changed because it had been over 30 days and were told no and the same quotes were forwarded to us. When we asked for the final contract to be sent so we could finalize the remodel the quote had actually gone up over $1000. When asked about this increase we were told they forgot to include some things in the quote. Although annoyed, we were willing to proceed but then were advised they wanted full payment before they would start the job. We said we had some issue with this and were advised they were not flexible, my husband spoke with the owners wife at length about this. We advised we were comfortable with paying for the product up front, half of the remaining balance after the work begins, and the final remaining balance when the job is complete. They said no. Everyone knows you do not pay in full before the job is even started. We are not talking about a couple hundred dollars we are talking $30k. We ultimately went with another local business who was a little more money but the payment plan offered was something we were more comfortable with.

Bensons is a great place. Local business run by pretty knowledgeable people who are always super helpful and pleasant. Their hardware selection is top notch and I can usually find the random strange thing Im looking for. Lumber yard is extensive and typically has a better selection than the bigger stores. All that said, it really is the people who work there that make it so good.

Great products. Lumber is always solid. Prices are typically higher than Home Depot across the street.You will be greeted by the unpleasant woman at the front counter and the lumber desk gentleman, both not wearing masks, and it clearly states on the front door that the governor has mandated this policy. Ill get my stuff at the big box store instead. You lost me

I always check at Benson first before going to the bigger chain hardware stores. The people are great, they figure out who regulars are quickly, and really will try to help you find what you need if you ask.

Good place for all hardware and lumber. All the boards are straight! The people that work there know what they are talking about.

I needed an O ring for my water filter. I was able to get what looked like the correct one but when I went to install it the size was not correct. They are always very helpful here. You should give them a try. You wont regret it.

They always have unique brands that I am looking for.

Extremely helpful staff. Not a big box store so the selection isnt infinite but we can usually find what we need.

Just love it. Pleasant & very helpful people, atmosphere designed for your assistance,garden center nice too, as well is the lumber yard. Have not contracted them for construction work, but have heard good things.

Bensons has a nice garden center. They also tend to carry some of the hard to find home improvement items that places like Home Depot might not. For instance they have a giant selection of screws, nuts, bolts, etc. in the back of the store that has come in very handy. The staff is always helpful too.

I purchased a Weber grill. Better quality and a bit less expensive than Home Depot. More importantly, theres always someone knowledgeable and available to help. In and out, no fuss, or wondering around looking for help. Everyone sells grills, Bensons sells service. Im happy to support the small family owned businesses rather than deal with the giant box stores whos employees have no motivation to ensure positive customer experience. The best part is I didnt pay a premium. Imagine the big box store mark up if the family owned business can be competitive.

Have had numerous positive experiences. Help with decking, fencing, plumbing, paint, lumber. Always helpful, always courteous. Would highly recommend for any situation. Additionally, the company is locally owned and the family is involved in the community on multiple levels.

I really like their garden center. Staff are friendly and the plant material is very good quality.

Clean, Quiet, Helpful, I dont have to walk a mile through the store to find a light bulb and they always have what Im looking for.

The store although having been around for years looks bright and new, the staff are helpful and willing to ask for help when needed. Looking forward to going back for repairs.

I was behind one of the drivers in a rush because my 2 yr old son was rushed to the hospital, the driver was giving me the finger, yelling profanities as well as slamming on his brakes. So unprofessional in a company vehicle, I can only imagine what other staff is like. What a jerk.
