I spoke with Andy at So Cal Imports about their AC Industries VW Bus Disc Brake Conversation Kit. I have a 1970 Bay with 2.5 drop spindles from Wagon West. I was concerned about the fit and the compatibility with the drop spindles. The kits fits real nice and exactly the right kit for the bus. Thank you Andy for all your help and guidance.

I recently had some questions regarding parts for a 356 Coupe Replica and both Andy and Daniel were a wealth of information. They were able to identify what parts I needed, educate me on some troubleshooting issues, even adjust my order for parts I no longer needed. Their customer service is second to none. SoCal imports totally burned me. I ordered two tail light assemblies online and chose to pick them up. Their web site says to wait for a phone call before coming to will call. I sent a message asking about when I can pick them up.They just called six days later, to say they dont even have them in stock. They offered to buy some out of Brazil for more than twice the price. No thank you. Rookies! I would have just bought them somewhere else.

I bought a Christmas gift for my Husband and buy the time he opened it on Christmas day and installed it in the car it was after the 30 day of purchase. Well the electrical part had failed and did not work and nothing can be done after that time lapse. So My husband called Allen at SO CAL Imports and he was told, 24 hours had lapsed and electrical part has no return policy! He said he wanted me to be happy and would call back and work something out! No Call back as of 5/10/2020. I will not give this company my business and will warn other also. Not happy at all! I have spent several $$ on part from this company but will no longer recommend this company to anyone.

Before starting my 63 bug project I heard a lot of people saying it was easy and cheap. True enough, to a point. Building a car from scratch can be confusing and intimidating, but from day 1 Dan and Andy have helped me get through this entire project. Placed more orders and received a call because I had ordered the wrong part for my 64 by mistake. Most companies would have just sent the parts listed and not worried about it being the wrong year part. Extremely helpful and nice. Customer for life.

I called a half-dozen or more parts places to see if they could help me restore my VW Bus. Some where helpful and others didnt seem to want to give me the time of day. So I called SoCal Imports and they told me to come down. I live in Las Vegas so driving down to LA was a bit of an issue, but I thought to myself why not and drove down to meet them. Andy and Dan gave me the best service you could ask for. They gave me the right advice (which was more than appreciated) since I am relatively new to the VW scene. My engine guy had the wrong cam and Andy pointed that out right away. So that alone, saved me so many headaches you wouldnt believe. Then I wasnt given the right advice on the front disc brake kit, Andy and Dan stepped in again and told me the right thing to do. I can go over so many things that SoCal help me with, but I would be writing for a long time. Bottom line and moral of the story is, SoCal, Andy and Dave all helped me in so many ways which helped me and my company save money and make unnecessary mistakes with bad advice. I highly recommended them for all your VW needs. They go above and beyond to make sure every customer is treated as a friend, and they give you real honest advice. This is rare in todays world since everyone is about putting money in their pockets and dont care about the customer service. I have purchased from them both in-store ( roof-rack) and online. WHenever there is a problem, they go out of the way to remedy the situation, even if it was something on their end out of their control, like product manufacturer providing items different than as pictured and described in catalog/online. My in-town store closed down and I have searched and searched for a store that I can order from, trust, and have confidence in. Andy and the rest of the staff have indeed proved to me they are that store.

I have ordered parts twice from So Cal imports and both time the service has been below par. My first order was lost and I had to buy the parts locally at a higher price it took them over a month to resend the parts. now I have $100 worth of parts sitting on a shelf. The second time I called in to ask which disc brake kit to order, I ordered it on line and its the wrong kit but I cant take it back since it has been over 30 day so now I am stuck with another $275 worth of parts I cant use. I will never order from them again their customer service is worthless.

I would have given this store less than a star if that was possible. I ordered several items one of which was a chrome hubcap, and when they packaged the items together, one very sharp item badly dented the hubcap in shipping. I called, long distance, was placed on extended hold and then when the customer service person picked up he demanded I photograph the item and send it to them for their consideration of a return. I told him that it was their mistake and I did not appreciate that approach and I would simply not buy from them again, and I wont. I recommend everyone else think very hard before ordering from them.

This company claims to have parts, gets your money then emails you saying we are back ordered! What that means is they use your money to purchase what you ordered then mark it up really high and make you wait 45 days. If you want a refund, just call your bank now. It will never show up. Their staff is terrible and the owner is very rude with little experience. Both of my encounters with socal have failed. Beware. Rookies at best.

Jerks!!! I ordered a hub cap with the Wolfsburg emblem. I got a hub cap, no emblem, and the order receipt said I had ordered a Porsche emblem. They told me I needed to send the hub cap back at my expense and reorder. All I needed was the emblem. Took several phone calls and a call to the Better Business Bureau to get a simple emblem, that I had paid for. Wont get anything for any of my cars from them!!!

My brake kit I bought for my 64 bug the cylinder 2 of them leaked. My mechanic just replace the whole kit and charged me for it. But the rubber and moldings I bought were fine.

Ridiculous return policies and defective partsim not impressed. First they canceled a part from my order because they where out of stock but didnt refund the money. And second, half the parts I got where made so cheaply there not worth using. I paid over $30 dollars for signal lights. The lights are made of cheep plastic with plastic chrome that is flaking off, and there are blobs of calking coming out the seams. They shouldnt sell stuff this cheep. Also the gas cap I got doesnt tighten all the way. They charged me a restocking fee to return the parts, which means they will be shipped to someone els, also I had to pay to ship the defective parts back. The owner is very rude and has a dirty mouth. Save your self the time and money just order somewhere else

Service is hit or miss... usually miss. Parts are about the same. Definitely not a good resource for quality restoration parts. Go with Wolfsburg West or JBugs instead.

I bought a tri-mil bobtail header from another company. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong configuration ...my error . Knowing So Cal did the manufacturing of these headers, I called them and they offered to send me the pieces I needed to make this work....FOR FREE....only had to pay shipping. Not a lot of companies would do this. Great to see a company stand behind what they manufacture, even when the error was not their own. Thanks Candice i customer service and the management at SoCal for your help!

This place IS to be AVOIDED!! Spent $280+ on a tri-mil bobcat exhaust ( ceramic coated no less)put it on a Meyers Manx and TWO weeks later I noticed a strange sound a found that there was a weld completely MISSING on the muffler NOT BROKE.....JUST NOT THERE! and when I brought it back I was told I SHOULD HAVE INSPECTED IT BEFORE INSTALLATION!! EXCUSE ME!! When I pay almost $300 for a CERAMIC exhaust I would hope THEY would inspect their products before selling them, they had two chances to catch their mistake between the welder AND the coater.AND while I was there they were selling someone else a bus bumper, when they overheard my complaint they checked and sure enough, it was scratched! GO ELSEWHERE!

Bought a complete zero offset disk brake conversion, with e-brake, everything looked great. Installed in about 2 hours. No issue. Directions were right on. Drove the car and noticed the front right caliper was dragging. Called So. Cal, got a desk jockey, said the owner would call back. Within the 3 weeks i waited i took it to 3 air cooled guys, and an aircooled Mechanic to see if i made a mistake. Paid $75 to have a guy tear everything apart and check my work, no issue, same problem. Called the Place again, no answer. This is not my daily driver so the car sat for quite some time. Drove it, and was abruptly reminded why i dont drive it. Called again, and again, and again. Its been 2 1/2 years, i think the owner is dead, or a dead beat. I recently purchased a new set of front brakes from Vintage Volks. Now $425.00 for new brakes, and 400 for a narrow beam front end, i have the problem resolved. Thanks for the speedy service.

This was good.Did not install the part in the return time period of 90 days, when my mechanic installed it, product did not work.Contacted this company and they offered to have an estimate of what was needed to repair it. I asked them for a refund or to send me another generator and I would pay for half.Many emails exchanged, and NO Sollitions,Contacted Paypal, and case was not decided in my favor.One of the owners, sent me an email to justify their customer friendly service process. For $107, you have made a unhappy customer that will never do business with you again.Will not be shopping there in the future, and I encourage other VW owners to TAKE THEIR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!go to Pierside Parts or Wolfsburg West, where they sell quality parts and have excellent customer service!!!

I gave them year make and model of my veacle, they sold me the wrong relay.When I tried to return it, they would not refund my money to purchase something else, the relay was $10They msrk up there parts 40% to 50% percent.Over $5 dollars they lost a customer for life, I have spent thousands of dollars there, not a penny more from me.
