Pretty cool place. They have so many figurines. I happen to stop by there and its a very specific genre store. They even had people playing some board game in the backroom. They have many books on battles. Face masks are mandatory. Its a geeks paradise.

Walked in and was instantly greeted by the front clerk (forgot his name) and was offered a tour. Youll have your choice of board games and table top war games. You will also find hobby supplies. In the back there is discounted out of print books and codices for my fellow warhammer players. Overall, a great gaming store. I wish I was able to get a game in, but because I was visiting family, there was no way I was bringing my army across the country.

Some new stuff. Lots of old stuff. Fun to browse. Great if you are a nerd looking for hidden gems.

This place is amazing I have so many memories with friends here and yugi tournaments.

At first glance it looks cluttered but the nice staff knew exactly where to look for my book and extra resources for my game in the back I could have stayed all day just looking at the rest of the cool miniatures cant wait to go back

Crazy cool store, theyve been open for 40 years and they have a TON of board games. They have twighlight imperium which is 150$ and a ton of other unique board games

This place brings nostalgia I remember coming here as a kid to buy my Yugioh packs also all of my brothers did aswell, I am happy to see it still open. For all your games fix this place is a oasis, the workers are always so knowledgeable and happy to help.

I work here so I am prejudiced. It is a great place to learn about and buy games. In the pre-pandemic days, it was a frequent gathering place for gamers.

A pretty fun and interesting place.Has a bunch of options for board games, but is very heavily focused on DnD.Its run by three very friendly older gentlemen. It has a bunch of cool DnD monsters decorating the walls in a backroom.A must go for people just getting into, or are heavily into DnD.

Atrocious customer service. Just had another in a long line of poor experiences here. I came in to buy a number of D&D characters. When asking for assistance in locating models on their sparse and disorganized racks I was made to feel as if I was bothering the employee. No offer was made to order items they didn’t have in stock and when I asked if the model in the package looked damage (As I’m new to the game) the snarky response was looks fine to me, you don’t have to buy if you don’t want to. I have always put up with their quirks as they are the local shop and I like to support local business but enough is enough. I’ll miss perusing there dusty old shelves full of dated products but there is always Amazon.

I dont know what the person below me is talking about. Ive been coming here for years and never once have I had trouble with any employee treating me snarky. The person below has left 1 star reviews for multiple long beach businesses so I wouldnt trust his word what so ever.A selfish review like that really hurts businesses like these, and if you truly had a bad experience you should have handled it then are there, opposed to writing a snarky review after.

Love this store! So glad I found it online. So worth the drive. The store is amazing. The young man when I called knew exactly what they had and super cordial. Highly recommend for visiting lLong Beach area or if your willing to venture out of the Los Angeles so worth it. 5 stars!

Lots of variety. Current stock and stock from their 40+ year history, but the store feels a bit claustrophobic and could use better organization. If youve got time to hunt, though, you might find a hidden gem. Friendly staff! Prices are consistent with list price, but dont compare with online options. These stores are becoming a rarity!

I came in with a friend to buy some card sleeves and the person who rung us up was so rude that I simply ended up leaving. Ive shopped here multiple times, but that was the worst experience Ive ever had at any LGS. I honestly think the guy was just trying to go back into the backroom and continue playing games with his buddies instead of answer our questions. I love supporting local businesses, but I dont ever plan to go back. They rolled the dice and it did not pass.

Great selection of new and older games. Helpful staff with a very knowledgeable owner. Literally thousands of board games, role playing games, card games, dice games, miniature war games, miniatures, dice, and gaming accessories for all types of gamers. The store is packed wall to wall, a definite must go and see. Especially if you like to see and feel before purchasing. The staff is happy to let you shop, look, and feel without pressure to buy. There is also in-store gaming of all sorts nearly everyday. Pathfinder and D&D on the weekends (even into the night), as well as card games (Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, etc), Star Wars X-Wing, and Hero Clix during the week. It is very local for those in Long Beach and the South Bay areas. Of course, since it is only 2 blocks off the Long Beach Freeway, it is pretty accessible to anyone in L.A., Orange, or San Bernardino Counties in California. They also do mail order and have an Ebay store for those not in the area. I cannot say enough good things about this store. They have been in business since 1974!!!

The guy was great, the store is deceptively big - looks small outside but huge inside. If you are into war gaming they have everything from models, paints, terrain, books and basing materials to out of print and canceled models and games!

It was okay. Felt like I had walked onto a set (think Goonies, Gremlins, or Stranger Things). A bit dusty and disheveled. If we had lots of time to rumage would have been fun. But we didnt.

I have played a lot of MtG games and played a great campaign of pathfinder run by the owner himself - they have models, books for lots of games, many many card games, and lots of people who show to play including some of the staff...Its by far the best place in Long Beach...Carson and Torrance I have seen

Just remembering my visit to The War House in 1990 or so. I bought my first set of dice there and remember that the back room was full during a D&D game. This will be a destination if ever I find myself in LA again.

They have a very large selection of miniatures and games. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Every time Ive been in there has been folks in the back playing their games as well.
