I love the look of this store.. idk if id call it rustic what but its got an old fashioned cozy homey type of feel. Great place to play Magic the gathering or any other game.. the owner is knowledgeable, straight forward but doesnt tolerate much tomfoolery. Have your cards organized before you come to sell them.
Tried to support local and ended up paying way more for a game I could have bought online. Hope the extra cost is justified somehow, sure felt bad.
Its a great place to play cards with your buddies, maybe get yourself something special. Not a very big card selection (he plays with the customers more then organizing his store!)However open late, and dosent mind some noise, this is one of the places Ill walk in with some friends to play.Reason for 3 stars is to me its just a place to go play cards at,and tgats all.
Been going sence trent opend good place good people
Cool small business for games.
Disappointed that this store was firing FNM with little/no mask wearing and no physical distancing (the county is in phase 2 as of writing this). We likely wont be back.I didnt appreciate the owner basically saying whos gonna stop us and also claiming the requirements/guidelines are unclear. No more than 5 people should be gathered in one space if they arent from the same household and no more than 5 people should be seated at one table at a time. Its in the governors safe start plan. Please be more responsible and at least make sure all your patrons are wearing masks at all times since distancing is not possible with your stores current setup. Covid is real and businesses need to be better at taking guidelines seriously if we are ever going to be able to get back to normal.
Good store, one of the workers was a little intense when I had a frisby disk lol and apparently I havnt gotten over it lol years later
Always nice.
Fantastic owner with a great selection of games and Magic products. Table space is plentiful, events have plenty of players, and prices are fantastic!
The best game store around. Tons of games. Very good prices. Helpful staff. Games for all types of gamers and all ages. Wouldnt go anywhere else.
Im here almost once a week for gaming nights that happen on Tuesday and Thursday nights for table top games. I absolutely love the shop and the games available. I also love game nights that are held here because I have the chance to sometimes try new games before I buy them. It also gives me the chance to make new friends and hang out with old ones as well. Trent the owner of the shop sells table top games, dice, card games, miniatures and even has a small assortment of non alcoholic drinks and snacks that make it a perfect place to relax and learn new games for the night.
Greatest hole in the wall tabletop gaming shop Ive ever been in. Greatest feat the owner has accomplished is leaving room to breath inside the shop. Most tabletop game shops are so jammed packed with goodies you have to carefully walk around everything.
Fun store with a wide selection of board and card games. They do buy very specific Magic: The Gathering cards. However, I feel as if Im intruding on something important anytime I walk in.
I love dangerous gentlemen. Trent, the proprieto,r is just awesome. He does specialize in Magic The Gathering but he is knowledgeable in more games that one has any right to know exist. Want something he doesnt have in stock? Trent will order ot for you. Interested in learning a new game? Trent will put you in contact with local players.Hands down the best game shop I have visited.
Apparently these guys use to have top notch service. Now they act like you are bothering them when you dare to enter their domain. Also I would recommend waiting until they take a natural break from playing on their tablets or laptops, otherwise the attitude issue is even worse.
Really nice gaming atmosphere!
Awesome store great selection of games. Its a fun and safe place to buy and play games. Trent the owner is very helpful and well versed in the product he has.
The owner is very nice and very quick to find what you are looking for and is also willing to order for you what you need at a reasonable price. The store has a whole lot of hobbies from board games and card games to miniatures and RPG guides.
Great store full of good variety of games and in a nice part of town to bring in the tourists and show them a good time while browsing.
Trent is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great shop, jump on the modern board game bandwagon!
One of my favorite stores!!!
Girlfriend and I walked in looking to get into Magic. Owner sat us down and showed us how to play for two hours. Had a blast and will now be frequenting the store for a lot more.
Great place to hang out and play games. The owner is quite friendly and knowledgeable about how products.
Cheaper than most card stores in Kelso/Longview. Has a great selection on miniatures and miniature paint stuff. Great atmosphere.
Good selections of playing cards ( magic mostly in the glass but they have lots of others) they do events sometimes and they have a healthy board game selection probably the the 2nd largest in Longview.
Great card shop with a excellent selection of both board games and magic cards
Good store not a lot of room but a jice place to play.
Its a nice place to relax and enjoy old fashioned games
The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Lots of games in stock.
Trent is a pretty neat fellow!
Trent runs the best game store in Longview/Kelso. There is always plenty of table space available, except maybe on Friday Night Magic. He has the largest board game selection until you go to Vancouver or Olympia.
Very friendly cozy Place lots of activities to go to throughout the week
Broad assortment of games for sale and an extensive collection of collectable cards. Very clean and allows folks to play there in both the main floor and the loft. Full range of GW products and paints as well as other brand miniatures. Good selection of Xwing and Armada ships. Decent stock of role playing game books.
Great place, amazing owner.
People were very nice, and had a big selection of board games and trading cards
People are nice large variety of games. Only sad thing was they opened late
A nice array of strategic board and card games!
DG is perhaps a hidden gem of Longview. While one of the best shops in the region, its not perfect, which Ill detail below.I grew up thinking board games were way too geeky to even play. But after a friend convinced me to come to the shop and play a few games, I quickly found a place among the other regulars at the DG shop, as we have come to call it.Trent, the DG owner, is very kind and is great at recommending games and even playing them with you to help you narrow down your wish list before purchase! The DG Shop is fairly clean and organized and the bathroom is quaint and spotless! Although some have complained of a gasoline or BO smell. When making purchases, you can see the behind the register is extremely messy. While this didnt affect customers, it is very strange. Snacks are sold in the $1-2 range including protein candies like PayDay or Slim Jim jerky and energy drinks or tea to keep you gaming all night long until the loose closing time of midnight-1am. However, since the only wholesome available food is the adjacent restaurant for $10 average and closing at 6-7pm, DG needs something more than snickers to keep people healthy and gaming into the wee hours. Id suggest liquid pre bottled Soylent, which could be sold for $4-5 and is an entire meal while testing like almond milk. The same thing is being introduced to esports players. The community of players is what makes the magic happen at DG. The tall and expansive shelves of games are impressive to look at, but there is also a free to play here shelf with something like 50-100 games! Regulars tend to be extremely well read across a range of subjects and memorize and strategize over endless amounts of games. They enjoy playing new and old games alike and every Tuesday at 6pm people show up and play whatever someone has.The main problem with the board game industry in general is that there are no refunds or way to demo most games. Trent could work towards alleviating this by buying and selling used board games like how GameStop does for video games or more openly advocating digital storefronts like tabletop simulator on steam, where you can demo games and play with friends from free to $8 after the $20 setup. I dont think the digital games eat into the market since its such a different experience to play with the games with your hands in person at the shop.
Good selection of board games, card games and great location.
One of the best game stores around.
Dangerous Gentlemen is the only store of its kind in the LVK area, and I think it is great in that aspect. The store owner carries a great variety of tabletop games. I cant think of a time where I wanted to find a specific game, and not been able to find it on the shelves of this store. But to that extent, I have also never purchased a tabletop game from Dangerous Gentlemen, due to the owners high mark-ups, and unwillingness to price match on games that have been on the market for quite a while, and have the same median price range at any other retailer. I once attempted to purchase a copy of Marvel dice masters, which is a $15 game, and found that he had the game marked at $25 simply because it was the only copy in town, even though there was a scheduled shipment for later in the month. (I later bought this game at a retailer in Beaverton, at face value)The second issue with this store is that even if you dont mind paying more than the product is worth, you may not be able to handle the stench of the place long enough to find what you are looking for. The place smells like spoiled milk and rotten eggs, with the undertones of a teenager that hasnt showered in a few weeks.I am a heavy proponent for supporting local businesses, but the owner of Dangerous Gentlemen makes it very difficult for me to want to give him my hard earned money.
A good shop with most gaming needs.
Great selection of things.
Great place to to meet people and great owner
The only place to go to if youre looking for board games and cards.
