Overall delivery of new kitchen, floors, and expansion were great. Project manager Stephen was great to work with. Rosa did a great job assisting with the design. Demo and installation team were fantastic. I could not believe how quickly they worked to rip out the old cabinets, floor, and drop the wall. Overall fantastic job!

I sent in a request for free consultation from Capital Design Build website, I received a call and spoke with rep (Jamie). I was told that I would be contacted by EOD 10/20/21 to schedule an appointment as they were currently working on scheduling. I heard nothing from them, I called today, was told they had no information on me. I said I expected a call back after they made inquiries from my conversation from the day before. I did receive a call back from Esther, she asked questions about what I wanted, but nothing specific. I was expecting to have an appointment setup as Esther informed me. Esther came back on on the line and asked if $37.0K was acceptable for a 10x12 kitchen cabinet, counter top and back splash remodel. This quote basically was to not do business with me, as I had not selected materials or design, and sight unseen! Very disappointed that a location business would treat a potential customer so poorly.

We are totally and completely satisfied with the magnificent bathroom renovation Capitol Design Build did for us. We spent 3 years talking with several bathroom renovation contractors before selecting Capitol Design Build. The price we paid was less than the “high-end” contractors, but the service and materials we received were totally high-end. Ali worked directly with us as we spent many hours discussing what we wanted and considering the many, many different materials that Capitol Design Build offers. Ali’s suggestions were consistently spot-on, and his architect team drew our plans with great care, creating a perfect combination of beauty and durability, in a style that is timeless.Ali’s workmen were on time but did not rush our construction – they took great care to make every seam perfect, every line straight and every color perfectly coordinated. We discovered Capitol Design Build during a home show when we were interviewing to hire a competent company to build our kitchen. That was when we met Ali, the owner of the company. We knew then that we had found what we were searching for. We met Rosa, the design consultant, and shared our wishes with her. She was very enthusiastic and couldn’t wait to start her design based on our wishes and needs. She was very responsive and professional. Rosa loves what she does and the end result was amazing! The whole team delivered a great product and we’re very pleased with their work! We constantly get complements on how beautiful our kitchen is. If I could give them more than 5 star, I would.

Fantastic job!The flooring crew arrived on time and completely sealed the kitchen area so dust wouldn’t permeate the entire main living area before removing the old flooring. They stayed late and finished in 2 days as promised.We had a miscommunication on the next step but it was addressed and remedied. The quartz crew was efficient and replaced all my counters in one dayAs a realtor my expectations are high and I work with a lot of contractors. I understand how hard it is to coordinate with multiple crews especially during Covid. This company did an excellent job overall and the end product is beautiful!

After over 2 years of searching for a right contractor. I able to pick capitol design by random circumstances. When I first step in to their store, I just knew I was in the right place. The samples of the kitchen design and products was exactly what was in my mind for my kitchen renovation.Rosa was the main designer who work with me. I found her very knowledgeable and professional. But in general I found all of the company workers are professional and friendly team. I also have many conversation with Mr. Ali who is the owner which he has assure me from the first day of the project to let him know directly if any problem I might find. All the workers were very good in what they do, very clean and safe.At the end my kitchen come out beyond my expectations. I Thank you all of you for your hard work.

The quality and craftsmanship Mr. Ali Ozgun and his staff at Capitol Design Build provide is First Class. I have purchased my kitchen tile as well as my Cambria Quartz Countertop and it really turned out beautifully. The beauty is that he has a vast selection and is willing to offer you sound advice and is not pushy. Anyone who comes into my house has always inquired where’d I get the tile and countertop? I highly recommend Capitol Design Build. They did an awesome job with our kitchen. Even though it took a little longer to finish, were very happy with the result. My husband and I expected to get quality work and that is what they delivered. Thanks to Rosa for her great design and great suggestions on the materials and giving us opportunity to check out the slab before final cut and ability to change it at last minute. Stephen and their crew (especially Jose) were awesome. Like professionals they sealed the area well and cleaned up everyday when they are done at the end of the day. The only downside experience was the labor cost and timeline but in the end, it was worth it. You can really compare the finish of their work vs working with someone for cheaper labor. For new and future clients, just make sure to stay connected and communicate with your designer and project manager. Im sure we were a pain throughout the process but Rosa and Stephen remained professional and understanding. Icing on the cake, Ali was very nice and generous to give us a free Egg at the end of the project even though we didnt qualify for the promotion in December (thanks Ali!).

Looking to hire someone to do our kitchen was a daunting task that we procrastinated on for way too long. After finishing all the other many improvements to our home it was time to tackle our kitchen. We contacted several companies to get estimates. Capital Design immediately got our attention, not because they were the cheapest, but because from the beginning they worked as a great team. They took pictures of our original kitchen and they prepared an incredible video to show us how our new kitchen would look after the project was completed. They are enthusiastic and proud of their accomplishment and they have a reason for it. Man, Capitol Design Build is good! From start to finish was a breeze and the work speaks for itself. It all started with Rosa and Stephen who designed my new master bathroom and then it all took off from there. What a beauty. If you dont have any design brainstorm power like me, let Rosa and Stephen team up and knock your ideas around but in a good way. I wish i had like 10 master bathrooms to renovate with them. If i did, they will be the first people to have a beer with and get the projects going.

Design team will work with you until your design / vision is captured. Construction team goal is to provide the best quality work in the contracted amounted time. They will deliver great workmanship. Some advice for those considering kitchen renovations: Always ask questions, keep open dialog with your design and construction team and be patient during COVID-19 period. Delays may happen that is out of anyones control. They will deliver a great product!

Capitol Design Build did an outstanding job on our kitchen remodel. Working with Jen, our designer, was a real pleasure. She took our inspiration photos and refined the design with us. Working with her was like designing our kitchen with a knowledgeable friend. She offered suggestions without being pushy, and was able to offer pros and cons of choices to help us make decisions. She was fantastic.The workers, led by Luis, were personable, detail-oriented, and extremely tidy. They cleaned up the worksite each day, and used drop clothes and plastic sheeting to minimize the mess.Throughout the project, the staff repeated the idea that we wanted the same thing-for us to love our kitchen. My experience with Capitol Design Build was great from the first point of contact until the punch list. I was qualifying design build companies for a significant kitchen + family room renovation and walked in without an appointment to their showroom. Our design consultant Rosa came out from her workspace to tell me all about their company and how they would manage the project. She is an incredible asset to the company! A few more meetings including with the owner we executed a contract and were on our way to transform our space into what we wanted, a fully collaborative kitchen + family room space opening onto our patio. From the start of our project of building a bathroom in our basement (which can be super stressful) everyone at Capital Design put us at ease right away. They offer such personalized care. We had our kitchen entirely redesigned and rebuilt by Capitol Design Build. All of the decisions we made from the choice of porcelain tile floors, to the custom cabinets, to the quartz counter tops were made by our ideas, but chosen by the designer with her guidance. I really like how they helped me visualize my kitchen with 3d software and 3d videos of my proposed kitchen with products selected. Me and my wife have a hard time visualizing things so they helped us a lot. After just a few consultations at Capitol Design Build showroom and visits to our home, The company was able to artfully assess our lifestyle and guide the creative process in a complementary direction. Capitol Design Build recently finished a major remodel/enlargement of our kitchen and master bath; Its our opinion that they are the best in the business ! Rosa, our designer created plans that gave us more space, functionality, and user friendliness than we could have imagined ! From the owner Ali, Rosa, Steven, our project manager, Rudy, our lead installer, everyone was always on time, called us if schedules changed, answered any/all concerns we had at once, took great care to protect our home as the construction progressed, cleaned up each day as though they were never there, informed and discussed with us any needed changes, and they were always kind and pleasant to have around ! These people are perfectionists; !00% of the time we were welcome to speak with the owner, and Ali spoke with us often to see how things were going. An example, I had checked with 2 other major contractors in our area that did kitchen/bath renos, I was told by both that flooring goes in last, around cabinets etc. I mentioned it to Ali ; he said absolutely not, it goes in first, wall to wall in case there are changes in the rooms. Capitol is very easy to work with; they have a beautiful showroom, but if you want something else they will help you. Another example, we were having extensive hardwood flooring throughout, found one from another source, fine, until Ali showed us why that flooring would not last and indeed would cause problems. He found for us another flooring that is not only beautiful, exactly what we had in mind, will outlast anything and at a better price ! The staff at Capitol are some of the nicest people ever, so welcoming and sterling customer service ! If I could build a dream house such as the ones on HGTV, I would definitely want Ali and his team as my builder !

The whole team at Capitol Design Build is fabulous! We are thrilled with the master bathroom and walk in closet remodel that they did for us. They took a very basic, lackluster bathroom and turned it into a place that we want to linger in just to admire the beauty. Like Tina Turner says, Capitol Design Build is simply the best. We worked with Tina and she took all of the hassle out of home design and build for us. We were overwhelmed with all of the decisions in building a new house. Tina made it simple and easy. She presented tile and countertop options that were absolutely out of this world. Then she provided bathroom options that were incredible. We absolutely love our new home and it would not have been possible without the help of Capitol Design build. After meeting with many major companies in the DMV area, we chose Capitol Design Build for our kitchen project. They started and ended on time, and I am very pleased with the outcome. My kitchen is beautiful and just what I wanted. Ali was very helpful by providing suggestions on the design, layout and color choices. Every time I walk into my kitchen, I can’t help but smile. The workers, from the carpenters to the trash collectors, were skilled, courteous and neat. The site manager, Stephen, was always available to address my questions and to help in any way. I plan to use them again for future projects.

We had a great experience working with Capitol design and especially Rosa. She came over, looked at the area in question and quickly sent us a bunch of recommendations When we visited our showroom, she opened the place on a Sunday evening to accomodate our work schedules. She had several options and tiles available for us so we didnt have to waste too much time going through their stock. Subsequently she was very prompt in getting the final markups to us and again adjusted whatever changes we wanted to make. We even met the owner who had many great suggestions for us. In the end we didnt end up going with Capitol design because their price point was much higher than our budget. However, our experience was great on the design part.

Overall I’m satisfied with the service. They helped me pick the right color and design of the kitchen cabinets. Rosa was very helpful and open to answer all my questions and requests. After buying an almost perfect first house last year, there were a few imperfections that need attention to get it to the where I wanted to be. After interviewing several local Home Improvement firms and none being as responsive as I had hoped, a colleague recommended Capital Design Build. The owner came to my house and like a talented painter looking at blank canvas we walked through what I had envisioned for each room and where I had no vision, he offered amazing suggestions. I still marvel at my kitchen every morning when I get that first cup of coffee. It is the first or second thing that most people comment on when they visit my house. For a micro-second, there is this fleeting but reoccurring moment where you find yourself imaging Gregorian Monks singing “Behold” in your head each time your eyes glance upon it. While the kitchen is clearly the house’s focal point, the wood floors, ceiling fans, expanded room, and my new fireplace all are equally gratifying. I remodeled an 80s style kitchen to an open concept, including knocking down a wall, removing soffets, and starting from scratch. The customer service provided from the beginning until the end was wonderful. The kitchen is stunning. 4 years later, I still get complements! I referred a few friends for other home remodeling jobs, and the end products were gorgeous!

The company over promises and under delivers! Stay away!!We came to look at the tile selection as we already had everything else picked out for a full master bathroom renovation. The company owner who helped us in the showroom came across as a very knowledgeable and customer oriented professional. He made such an impression on us during the first visit and consequent contact that we decided to order everything through him.Unfortunately we have soon realized (after we have paid in full) that we made a big mistake. Even the simple Kohler products are being delayed with no time frame. The work started but soon after our contractors had to stop and wait for stuff to arrive. The project start date was actually suggested by Capitol Design and we added two weeks just to be safe. Poor or nonexistent communication from the company makes this experience even worse. The phone calls and emails are not being returned. I have to call the office and speak to a person who does not really have a concept of customer service. In her own words she is just a messenger and that is how the company conducts its business.So now we can not use our bathroom or do any more work. I do hope that the stuff will eventually show up preferably before Christmas.I am thrilled though that we did not hire them to do the work as well.

We recently had our kitchen gutted and replaced by Capitol Design Build. We had several designers drafts plans for our smaller kitchen and we were a bit leery of hiring them because they all approached the initial design the same way - asking us to spell out exactly what we wanted to do. We knew what we needed (e.g., appliances moved, empty drywall soffit removed in favor of ceiling-height cabinetry, quartz countertops), but wanted to know what the professionals thought could be done with the space. Most just said “well, it’s a bit small” and made us feel limited.Capitol Design Build’s designers Tina and Rosa were different. First, they were enthusiastic about the project and process. They looked at the bigger picture and approached us by saying what could be done to make limited space functional, while making it look more expansive. We basically walked through the “must-have” and “would want if feasible” list. We knew they were going to be the right fit and we hired them almost immediately. To top off the design experience - they drafted three kitchens instead of one. They were the only firm to do that. Then they let us pick our favorite elements from each and drew up the final plan.While the other designers refused to put in a peninsula, which I really wanted, Tina and Rosa saw that it was a much-needed addition for working space and made it happen. While we added larger and a greater number of cabinets and drawers, the peninsula, and larger appliances, somehow the space became larger-looking with these additions and our bright white cabinets and contemporary finishes.The remodel took a little longer than planned, but better beautiful than rushed. They listened to our concerns along the way and made corrections whenever we weren’t happy with something. My only feedback is stronger communication between the project lead and contractors. It would help keep us out of the process during those little fixes a bit more.Ali, the owner, was great and made sure everything was “just right” at the end. The entire team, including the owner, came for the final inspection and photography session.All-in-all, we had a great experience. The kitchen is gorgeous and the subject of nonstop compliments from visitors. Our neighbors envy its beauty and functionality (we all have rather small kitchens).Thanks to the team at Capitol Design Build for ridding us of our 50-year-old kitchen and giving us this much-needed improvement!

Worst experience Ive ever had with a business. They overcommit and dont deliver. I purchased kitchen cabinets from them. The quality of the cabinets are great, but I was given a 3 week timeline for the arrival of the cabinets. It took them 6 and half weeks to deliver the cabinets. One of the cabinets was built incorrectly by the manufacturer, and it took them another 6 weeks to deliver that one cabinet that they screwed up. They also ordered the wrong cabinet pulls and when I needed more, they ordered the wrong ones again. The customer service throughout was horrible. Everytime I tried to get in touch with the owner, he was always out on a consult.

Paid $41,000 for a bathroom and got a $20,000 bathroom. It failed inspection and finished 2 months behind schedule. They cut a hole in the downstairs ceiling to get to the plumbing and just stuck up a cheap plastic panel to replace the hole. A light that I paid for, sits in my garage and was never installed and they left some plywood sitting in the front yard. I know its hard to please joe public but when the owner refuses to answer any of your emails you know you are screwed.

Very happy with Capitol Desing Build. They gave me an estimated that wasn’t the chepest but also far lower from other places that do custom projects, they didnt nickeled and dimed me and even took care of some unexpected additional costs. Overall great service and quality
