Glamour Closet is a sample wedding dress store that offers off the rack at prices 25% to 75% off UNLESS you buy a Joanna August gown. If you buy a Joanna August gown, you are paying full price for a dress that has been sitting on their racks, has been handled and tried on by many other brides, but by their definition is not a sample gown. In fact, they are the only gowns in their store that are not a sample. It is an expception in thier store and that they work hard to hide it from you.As I was checking out, I asked my sales consultant if Glamour Closet offered a discount for the defects in the dress that she was pointing out. She assured me that those defects were already factored into the price. When I got home and looked up my dress, I found out that was not the case. I could have purchased a flawless dress from the designer that would need fewer alterations for the exact same price, and I found this very upsetting. When I called the manager, she explained to me that Joanna August provides dresses to their store directly because they are an exclusive retailer, and for that reason, the Joanna August dresses are more like dresses you would find in a Nordstrom or any other retail store. Conviently, they were only willing to share that information from me AFTER I bought the dress. When I questioned the manager about why they didnt tell me that, she said it was becasues otherwise they would never sell any Joanna August dresses. She also tried to justify the pricing by saying just imagine how you would feel about the dress if you never looked up the price. She couldnt seem to understand, or more likely did not care, thats not about the price for me, its about how I felt when I realized that I had been duped.I just dont see how the pricing of the Joanna August dresses in this store is fair and I feel decieved. In fact, I think the not sample dresses being priced the same as the new, made to order dresses is evidence of intentional deceit.Everytime I look at or think about the dress that I bought Im reminded of how exploited I felt by Glamour Closet when I realized what they had sold me. Im so beyond dissapointed in every single person that I dealt with in the store for the lies that they told me and the truths that they hid from me. The employees here are shady sales people and my advise to brides is to avoid this awful place at all costs.
If you havent been to Glamour Closet, you havent finished shopping. Hands down the largest selection and the most fun experience 👈 big words from a mother who literally visited eleven locations looking for the perfect dress. If that sounds like too many, it was! However, we had not one but TWO brides last year 😮😍 Marissa was that angel that refused to give up... We made multiple visits, in part because we adored Marissa, but also because theyre constantly revolving the selection. The prices ranged from $300 to $9k, and the styles ranged from an explosion of tule to a crocheted bikini (yep, and it was AMAZING!). No appointment required, even open on Sundays, complimentary cell phone charging, plenty of accessories, crazy sharp staff (they KNOW their inventory!), easy location, and did I mention the largest selection?! Parking is available on the street (if youre lucky) or free in the neighborhood to the south. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 🖐 🌟s
I understand the covid standards have changed many shopping experiences, but we were denied at the door because I (bride) had an extra person with me, yet there was no one in the store. And their sit had no rules on the site and said nothing about a 2 people maximum. If their site didn’t say walk-in only the. I would have called before driving so far. Very disappointed in the few minute experience. They obviously didn’t want or need my business.
This place is amazing! Staff is so charming, helpful, attentive, and takes covid-19 protocol v seriouslyHit me up if you need someone to take you wedding dress shopping! Id happily go back any time!
One of the best experiences EVER! I walked into this shop just for fun a few days after getting engaged to my now husband. Little did I know that it was the one and and only bridal shop I ever needed to set foot in. SO MANY DRESSES!! The had just about every style you could imagine and there was something for every price point. I brought my whole family with me -- mom, dad, sister and brother -- and the ladies at the shop were great about letting us loose to browse the dresses. The shop is set up by dress style, not designer or price which is great because I knew exactly what style looks best on me. My family had so much fun judging the gowns I tried on and the ladies in the shop joined in the fun. The woman helping me in the changing room was great at reading body language and pointing out the differences of how I walked and held myself in the different dresses. As soon as I put on that last dress, it was obviously the one! The ladies were not pushy at all and understood what a big decision it is and didnt rush me. I walked out of the shop with my wedding dress in tow and I could not have been thankful for all their help.
Glamour Closet was such a unique experience! All dresses are high-quality, you couldn’t tell they aren’t brand new! What I loved most were the unique styles of the dresses. The downside is you have to purchase the dress you love right then, as it is likely the only one in stock. There’s no reserving the dresses, but totally understandable. I worked with Debbie, who was so lovely and charming. Thanks for making it a fun experience, Debbie!!!
I loved so much Glamour Closet LA. They have very trendy collections for all types dress. I highly recommend to everyone for shopping.
Unfortunately, visited Glamour Closet solo because of Covid. (My mom and best friends are based on the East Coast.) Salespeople took advantage of me, saying whatever it would take to pressure me into buying my dress. Horrible way to begin my wedding planning. Do not be fooled - they do not care about you or your happiness. They’re just in it to make a sale.
I highly recommend this place. This was the only place I went to look at dresses and ended up finding “the one”. Debbie is absolutely fantastic! Not only is she knowledgeable, she also has a deep passion for helping soon-to-be brides find the right dress. She was patient and honest which made the whole process extremely comfortable. I went alone, but with her guidance I felt like I had a friend with me to help me decide. The prices are great and there are tons of styles! I recommend going during the week if you can because they do not take appointments. Also it’s important to note they don’t typically carry two of the same dress, so if you love it, get it! Good luck!
I had such a good experience shopping here and finding my dress. It was the first and only store I went to, and MOLLY, who helped me pick out my dress was the best! By the end of our session, I wanted to invite her to the wedding too!!
First come first serve so show up early. Yes you can only pick 8 dresses to try on. This store is not your traditional gown store. You cannot order your dress in a different size. They sell the dress they have on hand that is why it may not be there the next day if you choose not to purchase that day. Overall I had an amazing experience and loved my dress and the customer service.
The experiences I had at bridal shops prior to Glamour Closet were just okay, or terrible. As I was walking in I was nervous, but the nerves immediately went away after we were greeted by the amazing staff! The staff is not pushy and let you look at your own pace. They do all they can though to help you find THE dress. Brittany helped me and made me extremely comfortable and was supportive. The selection is also amazing and every dress in the store is beautiful!
All of the staff members at Glamour Closet LA were incredibly friendly and helpful. Looking through racks of dresses can be pretty intimidating, but Candice helped me to find dresses that worked with my preferences and budget. I love my dress, and my family and I had a wonderful experience here.
The gowns are gorgeous, I was able to browse to my hearts content, and Justee put all my choices in a fitting room before helping me try each one on. The place was small compared to most bridal stores Ive been in, but not cramped, and it had a large mirror and standing stool for viewing. I could have wished for angled mirrors to easily view the sides of each gown I wore, and though the prices were considerably reduced from their original runway values, it was still not quite the glamorous experience one considers in the price of gown shopping. It was simply a place to try on gowns.
Beautiful dresses at great prices, and very helpful staff. Walk-ins only, so there might be a significant wait, especially on the weekend, so mentally prepare for that.
This is a must-stop for every bride in LA. They have an excellent selection of gowns here - they had the most extensive collection of bohemian sheath gowns that I had seen in a bridal shop. All were in great condition and the staff was super helpful in understanding what I was looking for. Its walk-in only, so come in on the weekdays if you can.
It was wonderful experience shopping here.
Kerry was a fantastic saleswoman who put ZERO pressure on me throughout the process and I really appreciated that! Im a nervous shopper when it comes to dealing with sales people one-on-one but this experience was totally exceptional. I ended up getting the very first dress that I picked, and it fit like a glove. Ill need to take it to get cleaned and get the straps adjusted, but otherwise its perfect! Definitely check this place out, yall!
Such an awesome store. Great customer service! !! I love how you dont need an appointment. Would definitely recommend this store to any soon to be bride
I bought a dress online and misjudged the sizing by about an inch around the bust. Lan let the dress out for a VERY reasonable price and now it fits like a glove. You can barely tell it was altered at all.
Excellent service and large choice of dresses!I highly recommend this place!!
Unfortunately I was very disappointed in this store. (1) The clerks pressured me from the moment I walked in, telling me that if I didnt buy a dress that day, I wouldnt be able to get it. They boasted that the dresses were all one of a kind --- however, when I marked 8 dresses to try on, I marked the exact same one in the same size twice, proving that they werent in fact one of a kind. (2) After I marked 8 dresses and decided not to try on a few (including the duplicate), I was left with only 3 to try on, and I was told that I was not allowed to try on any more because 8 is the maximum. I have never heard that at any other store but it was a sure-fire way to alienate a customer. (3) I wear a size 6 and the clerks insisted that I needed to buy a dress in a size 14 to have alterations done. (Not at all true - the dress I ended up getting at another store was a size 6 and, with a few minor alterations, fits like a glove.). (4) Anyone can touch/handle the dresses, so many of them have become yellow ordiscolored. (5) the girl who assisted me was dressed very sloppy and reeked of cigarettes, in stark contrast to my experiences at other bridal shops. In short, I would avoid this place, or at least try several others so you are informed when you go there and dont get swindled.
Incredible Incredible Incredible. These dresses are amazing, designer, one of a kind, 70% off, and the staff are actually real humans who care! Not a wedding factory, a real store!
Great assistance and environment. She was comfortable making recommendations that I would never have chosen, and I said YES TO THE DRESS!
My husband and I have been married just over a year, but we are renewing our wedding vows for our families in a few weeks. I had a bit of a dress snafu, so I was in a bind AND in a total panic.
If you havent been, you need to. Large selection, great service & awesome prices.
I came in last week as a walk in and unfortunately I wasn’t able to try on dresses (made sense, the store was closing soon)Anyways, I do agree the ladies aren’t pushy, they allowed me freedom to browse to see if they had something worth returning for.Joy, I believe she might be the head guru, she was amazing, it’s very obvious she knows her stuff and is willing to offer assistance.I’m very big on service and although I haven’t returned for a fitting, I do intend on multiple visits at this location. They take down your information to follow up on new shipments that are similar to your wants. What more can you ask for 😍There is another young lady, I believe her name is Camai, she was also warm and inviting..Ladies!!! Don’t feel you have to set an appt prior to stopping by and browsing ... they allowed me to take my time and look at the dresses until I couldn’t look no more...I highly recommend coming in and looking first and then returning with ideas on what you are interested in.I’ll keep you guys posted on my next return tomorrow
You guys. This place is AMAZING. The consultants do not work on commission so theres no pressuring you to buy. Its walk-in only, so theres no rushing through appointment times: you can stay as long as you like and try on as many dresses as you want. My consultant, Marissa, is some kind of wizard mind-reader: she subtly peeked at my vintage engagement ring without saying anything, and immediately pulled the beautiful, 1920s old Hollywood-esque Jenny Packham dress that ended up being the one. I might add that the dress normally costs around $6000, but since this was a sample we only paid $2700. Long story short, my dress-buying experience was amazing, the consultants were incredibly helpful and friendly, I have the dress of my dreams, AND part of the proceeds go to Parkinsons disease research. Nuff said.
Great customer service, nice selection of dresses.
Really great selection! Super nice staff!
