Rude manager. she just hung up on me
These folks are awesome - my husband and I have used them for a whole bunch of flooring projects over the past 20-plus years. Were always super happy with their work and their great customer service. Stan and Sam are the most genuine guys in Los Angeles! Fair prices, great selection of materials, and they are always especially good at meeting tight schedules.
We bought a new fridge and decided to get new flooring in the kitchen and service porch. Went to A- picked out the flooring. Spoke to Stan telling him about my anxiety about moving the stove and washer dryer set up. We had the new Fridge delivered after the flooring was put in. Stan assured me his men are professionals with all the right equipment to move appliances, and by the way they are professional appliance movers. So, the day of the floor install came and for lack of a better word, the floor installer showed up with two young guys who were just muscle. First they removed the back door off its hinges, then they proceed to move the washer dryer machines out onto the back porch and then tried to move the stove into the dining room. No room. Then they moved the washer dryer machines into the driveway and moved the stove a second time out to the back porch. After ripping up the old flooring they poured leveling concrete. After it was dry they installed the new flooring. Then they brought all the appliances back in. Hooked up the gas lines and so on and so forth. Then they tried to reinstall the back door. Remember they poured leveling concrete so the new floor was higher. Somehow these experts couldnt figure it out. After a few attempts, prying open the transition metal piece and deforming it. I told them they need to shave off the bottom of the door to clear the raised floor. Since I was a Handyman, I had the right tools. They didnt. They took off the door and I used my power planner to trim the door to fit. When that was done, they asked me if the job was OK. I had no reason to think otherwise, and agreed. They left like the wind. A few hours later my partner goes to use the stove. The electronic ignition clicked but no flame. Turns out in their haste to leave they didnt turn the gas back on. A few days later my partner went to use the oven. Didnt turn on. So I called Stan, he said he would send his Experts to fix the problem. They tried to find the pilot light on an electronic ignition. Could find the problem and left. Called Stan a few times to hear what he would do. Turns out he feels his Expert people didnt not cause the stove to stop working. Even though it had been working before the floor install. My advice if you have anything done by these people is to get real Professional people to move your stuff.
Wonderful people run A-1. They are respectful, attentive and responsive regardless of the job size. The prices are very reasonable and the installation crew did a beautiful job. I have recommended A-1 to others and wouldnt think of going elsewhere.
Great mom and pop operation. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. If you value a personal touch this is the place to go.
