The amount of excitement I had when I found this place on Google was exceeded when I arrived. The rumors are true! Theyre donuts are ALL GLUTEN FREE! Many of them are vegan too! Its amazing. They have so many flavors to choose from - lemon, raspberry, churro, strawberry shortcake, etc! The donuts on the sweet side and so moist and light. Big shout-out to this place for the great customer service and delicious offering!
I highly recommend using Fonuts for fun remote WFH virtual team events! They send you kits with all you need to prepare these Fonuts at home in a quick easy manner and not expensive!Highlights included: Could be done together in 30 minutes (sometimes cooking classes take 2+ hrs so can be limiting) and not too intense so people can chat on any virtual platform while prepping.Plus they were delicious! I would recommend this for future teams & events.
Our favorite donut place! We include FONUTS in a lot of our family traditions and events. They’re delicious and healthier choice for a treat! It is sweet and always made fresh. You have to come earlier in the day, or order in advance, as they always sell out fast, before they even close. We love FONUTS and Nancy has been super awesome since we moved in the neighborhood about 10 years ago.
My favorite donuts in LA! I love the chocolate sprinkles, lemon, and banana chocolate yum
Overpriced and tasteless :(For $4.50 per donut, I expected more!I love all things Earl Grey and am eager to try any earl grey desserts. More often than not, the earl grey flavor can be weak… but here it’s completely NOT present. There is ZERO earl grey flavor.Just call this a blueberry donut and then it would be decent. The pumpkin fonut did have the pumpkin flavor but it wasn’t really that great - just like a supermarket pumpkin bread in donut form… It was naturally a little drier than the blueberry one.Overall, the fonuts are not that big, not dry but not that moist either… and just a disappointment. 😢 Especially when there are other places that do vegan donuts well and are cheaper.
Definitely a gem in all the great desserts LA has to offer. Got a half dozen, which they have a nice selection of vegan donuts. Very sweet staff, they even gave us two free donuts on National donut day! The churro, vanilla latte, and lemon were top notch. My boyfriend loved strawberry and churro. We both thought it was worth the price for delicious gf/ vegan baked goodies. Will be back for more!
We live in Anaheim and my daughter stopped by this place to get some donuts. She purchased six different ones and they looked so lovely in the box. It was a nice surprise to read that they were gluten-free which is always a plus for me. The blueberry one was especially delicious. A little pricey, but we might make the trek to purchase again.
It was so wonderful to have my son there and say YES to anything in the entire counter! The donuts were delicious and my whole family loved them! If we’re ever back in LA we will definitely return for breakfast.
Love these healthier vegan treats!!! The churro and lemon ones are amazing!!!
Donuts are so yummy. The best ive ever tried so far. Absolutely recommend
I was skeptical at first because I don’t like cake donuts but this place was amazing! Their flavors are top tier and their donuts are moist. Service is also great!! They have us free samples.
As a person with food sensitivities, I love this placeThe berry flavored donuts are amazing!!
Usually i dont write reviews but i have to because that chocolate chip cookie is so good, best cookie i have ever tried!
I don’t like to write bad reviews, but... Zero stars!! Extremely rude, greedy and unprofessional. First of all fonuts are too overpriced, too sweet, feels like eating pure sugar. Second, today they’ve told me that I can’t collect their points, purchasing them one by one and that they gonna remove them. I’m getting six or more, and it’s still not enough money for them.People, if you’re so greedy, change your system. You have to learn how to treat your customers if you want to keep them. There are many places with gluten free vegan options, who respect their guests and not trying to get as much money as possible from them.Customer is always right, if I’m using your square pay, I can use it however I want to, don’t like it? Change it!Highly not recommended, I know other people who’ve had such problem with them. Better go to amazing cupcake places close by, where they treat you good and always have a great reward program available.Disgusting donuts with greedy complaining rude owner with too much attitude, go educate yourself and learn how to deal with people if you want to keep your business
This place Is amazingly delicious and as someone with celiacs is essential for me.
My favorite donut shop in L.A. The vanilla latte and the strawberry are my favorite but I also recently tried the banana chocolate, the lemon, the vanilla with sprinkles, and the blueberry- SO GOOD. All of their donuts are never fried! Use their free valet service that’s right behind the shop and that makes parking so easy. Also try and go during happy hour for BOGO.
Vegan donuts? Don’t mind if I do. Seriously yum! The associate working was absolutely wonderful too.
Ariana Grande/Gomez was there so it’s super good and you should check it out👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great GLUTEN FREE donuts. Wonderful variety.
Loved the fonuts, all are a must try! Great atmosphere, friendly staff - would recommend!
Amazing place! Owner was super cool and let gave us great recs on donuts. If ur in the area go go go!!
My wife has celiacs and hasnt been able to have donuts in years. These taste amazing and are such a good gf treat!
Worth a try! I tried all of the mini-versions of the vegan donuts in this sampler, I would definitely come back for the lemon-poppyseed or banana nut ones! They were very moist as gluten-free baked goods go. The raspberry(?) one was a little bit too moist for my liking, though. Unique flavors, yeast donuts looked good! Might need a second trip 😉
Ive been to fonuts twice in the last 30 days, and I plan on returning as often as possible. All of the donuts are gluten-free, many of them are vegan, and the MOFO donut is grain free. All fonuts are made with almond flour. The donuts are baked and not fried. Ive tried about 20 gluten-free donuts in Los Angeles, and fonuts are by far my favorite. The raspberry vanilla is the best gluten-free vegan donut in LA! And, the blueberry earl grey and lemon are the best gluten-free donuts. If you want a traditional flavor, the churro and chocolate glazed are delicious. You can preorder donuts by calling them directly. Youll find valet parking behind fonuts, street parking and meters. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
It was about 4 pm all the donuts were sold out
Was online looking for a place to get vegan treats for our sons upcoming 1st birthday party. And fonuts popped up.Although this is a very cute, chic place, their fonuts (donuts) are a bit on the overload sweet side.We tried four of their vegan flavors: raspberry vanilla, churro, vanilla, and dark maple. The only two that were bearable were the churro and vanilla. And out of those two, the churro tastes the best, although we still ended up scraping some of the frosting off. I can say, it taste much better (with a decaf cup of coffee) the next day after being refrigerated, since it held itself together wayyyy better, as in it was more solid. The first day I bought them, they would fall apart as we bit into them. Also, the location isnt ideal if you arent a local to the area, not sure if that was their purpose, but there is an uphill battle to find a park for this experience. However, their staff is great! Very personable, friendly, and eager to assist with questions.Overall, I honestly wouldnt go back anytime soon due to the overwhelming sweetness and lack of parking.
Visited March 19, 2019 around 9am🍩 Food:As gluten free guy, entering a doughnut shop were everything was gluten free was a first. This shop has a gluten free kitchen and damn is that rare. Its incredible and awesome that a place like is EVEN exists! There are some caveats here though, even though the doughnuts are surprisingly pretty moist, the texture is more similar to pound cake than a airy doughnut unfortunately, damn you gluten. Also all the doughnuts here are sadly baked and sadly not fried.👩💼Service:Friendly and helpful, A+ service.🏠 Atmosphere:Cute old fashion style little shop.💸 Price:(3) doughnuts will run $17 and with that price tag, it gives me a real reason for the 2 star review.
Delicious Vegan & Gluten Free Donuts. Quick curbside pick up! Always get a half dozen box when in LA!
Lavender earl grey is everything! Soothes the savage beast. The chocolate hazelnut is like the favorite chocolate cake you loved growing up. Door is a bit heavy but doable in my power chair and everyone there is helpful and friendly so it’s definitely a great accessible stop for Vegan donuts. The vegan churro doughnut is LIFE!!!
I’ve been coming here for years and there is just nowhere better to get gluten free treats. Get here early, they tend to sell out by mid afternoon! I no longer live in the neighborhood, but will happily make the trek across town for these.
Delicious 😋.Full review- later
Only because ari was there
We used to love them because they had these fotella donuts, but they stopped even though it was a crowd pleaser.
The service is always friendly and sometimes the older Asian gentlemen will hook you up. Hes the nicest guy and the donuts are always on point. I really enjoy this place because it is some go to comfort food for real for real.
This place is absolutely fantastic, IF you are Gluten Free. If youre looking for a simple Donut and you can handle Gluten, you might seek another shop. This isnt to say these donuts arent amazing. But they are pricey. So again, this place is great! Great service, great donuts, good coffee...! But you are looking at about $4.50 per Donut, which is worth it if you dont get to eat Gluten donuts... When I was gluten Free, Id give my house for one of these. If youre not, try it out... But expect to pay.
Best donuts around!
Its a diamond in the rough. Great food, great coffee. Definitely one for the locals in the area.
The kind of donuts poetry should be written about.
I LOVE these donuts, I dream about them and my mouth waters at the thought. But... when ppl need donuts and coffees the most: on Mondays, why are they closed?? Today is my bf’s birthday and we can’t even go to our fave place because they are closed on Mondays?? Like what is up with that?
Delicious! Great vibes here as well. Whenever I travel I always seek out donut places for some reason. This spot was great.
Their donuts are always fresh and costumer service is excellent. Its yummy. We went back twice in a week because they were so good.
And, excellent service!!!
So delicious! I’ll definitely come here every time I’m in LA. The double chocolate was amazing- the texture was fantastic & it wasn’t too sweet. Left me wanting more! Any plans to open in SF?...
Delicious! Great vibes here as well. Whenever I travel I always seek out donut places for some reason. This spot was great.
Very tasty cake doughnuts!! We tried the strawberry, chocolate, and churro flavor and they were all delicious.
Never been but never will! Not after what you did to Jinger. What does transparent me to you? Im sure you all know who she is. She a great person!!!
The donuts are delicious also the coffee. Was my breakfast everyday for a while. Recommend the mini ones, so you can try more flavours. Get a almond latte and sit outside ❤️
Super tasty! I just wish they didnt use rice flour with the almond flour and used a sugar alternative. Still, if you are vegan or gluten free, these are a must try.
They are not like traditional airy donuts. They are more dense (cake) but still delicious. I drove across town to grab some for my vegan girlfriend crossing my fingers shed like them. I got one of each of the vegan donuts. Six vegan donuts cost me $18. Price was super annoying but Im kinda used to paying more for vegan food :(My vegan girlfriend loved them all. Her least favorite were the raspberry and coconut but thats just personal preference. As a non vegan, with a huge sweet tooth, a can vouch for the vanilla latte, banana, and vanilla donuts. To me, those were the most appealing flavors.Service was pretty quick and friendly on a Friday morning around 9am. The place was clean and simple.
Amazing gluten free donuts. Everyone working there is always so nice. Really recommend
Loved the sharp interior + ambiance of the place. BUT THE DONUTS ARE AMAZING. Not only are they baked and GF (some vegan), but the flavor and texture of the donuts are to die for. A wee bit on the pricey side (regular donut about$4.50, mini $1.75) but totally worth it!
I’ve tried a lot of vegan donuts in LA and these are the most expensive and least flavorful. Paid $9 for two very mediocre donuts. The texture is unique, but it’s more of a cake donut which really doesn’t live up to much. but if you can be bothered DONUT FRIEND is the best vegan donut you’ll find out here!
We enjoyed every single one of the donuts we had here. We were in town for a long weekend and had donuts every morning. I wish we could import these donuts to Phoenix. The flavors are unique and well done. The donuts are rich and solid. My mouth is watering just thinking about them!!
Great alternative to donuts! They’re the perfect small size so you can try a few kinds
There is truly something for everyone at this little bakery. I was able to get many flavors that were gluten/dairy/soy free for myself, just gluten free for my girlfriend, and I believe they had regular donuts as well, but we didnt venture into that territory. All of the flavors were delicious, and they even came in a cute box wrapped in a bow! Also - free parking with validation in the back alley.
Was going to knock off a star for the price- but ohmygosh these are some seriously moist and delicious donuts! I have tried many donuts near and far and these will go down as some of my favorites. The flavors are robust and the texture is melt in your mouth. And I don’t feel so bad about eating them, almost ate the whole half dozen 😜
Delicious, light, not too sweet, always fresh and always come with a friendly service! I love this place! I love fōnuts 🤤 Each and every bite is always worth it!
Like others have mentioned, these are definitely cake donuts. That being said, they are no less delicious and are very tasty. I especially loved the maple one, but really all the flavors I tried were damn good. Definitely a solid donut joint.
Look good but absolutely gross. Five of us thought they were terrible. Anything is a step up from these bad products. To say they were stale would be a compliment.
Delicious, a bit pricey, but when my hubby is near the store he definitely knows to get plenty 😅 because they wont last 😊
Im glad I came. I dont live in CA and I was looking for gf yummies when I came for a visit. The fonuts were good, not great, but good. But, it is totally worth the visit... and the guy who helped us was kind and informative, which really matters to me.
Delicious, the donuts are absolutely delicious. They are not as airy as a regular donut, but since diagnosed with Celiac Disease, the best donuts I have had in the last 8 years. Also, they have vegan options, not too many, could definitely expand on some more gluten free and dairy free or gluten free and vegan options. Try the Churro flavor. It is the best.
Love love love the vegan & gluten free donuts! They are much more came-like than regular donuts which I prefer. I highly recommend their earl grey blueberry donut or the lemon one. Get a bunch of mini ones! To die for.
Very much looking forward to this but it was pretty pricey and the donuts were soooooooooo sweet. I suppose to compensate that they arent fried. Im definitely glad we tried this place, its interesting. But expensive and not delicious. Also no refills on coffee!
Always friendly service! My favorite is the Hawaiian its like eating a coconut cloud!Love the fact they are baked or steamed. Unlike other donuts youre filled up on just one. But its tempting to keep trying all the flavors,
So glad to have found fonuts. Gluten-free and all natural, and worth every penny. Great food and wonderful service.
They have proven themselves to be intolerant of different opinions. They dropped sponsorship of a particular role model of many, but felt it was still ok to benefit from her custom fonut. While they are nice in person we will not support this company.
One of my favorite donut shop. It is never too crowded and the donuts always taste fresh. Ive brought these to dinner parties and picnics many times and they have always gotten great responses. I love the chorizo donut while my friend love the gluten free banana chocolate. Parking can be a bit of a pain since it is on 3rd Street. But it is worth the stop.
Leaving details at the request of business owner. I have heard a ton about fonuts and have always been excited to try. I stopped in around 11am and grabbed a blueberry earl Grey and a lemon. While the icings were delicious, the cakey texture was really really dry, and kind of bland. Might have been an off baking day? Just really didn’t live up to my expectations so I can’t leave a rave review as i’d hoped.
Ordered the blueberry earl grey and the strawberry shortcake. Both were very tasty.
No diversity in this company. Can we not handle people having differences of opinions than our own?Seriously, youre going to end up partnership with Jinger Duggar, all because people dont agree with her. Sorry you have to bow down to everyone else. Good luck youll need it. Moving on, different doughnuts, different day.
Only a quarter of their donuts were vegan and unfortunately they were all gluten free. Dry, crumbly, gritty, nothing I will try again. Why businesses associate vegan with gluten free is beyond me. Just make them delicious and cruelty free.
Quite honestly the best gluten-free donut Ive ever had.
This is the absolute best gluten-free vegan treat in LA! All flavors are GF and theres a whole section of the case devoted to vegan + GF flavors. The lemon is made with real lemon juice and zest and is divine! The latte donut is my favorite, though (and I dont even like coffee, generally!). I love having the itty-bitty mini-donuts as an option, too-- although I get them in addition to a full-size donut, not instead of! 😄The best part is that you can eat your fill and not feel gross afterward, because they are so light and fresh and baked, not fried! Staff is also super nice and helpful.
Amazing, Amazing...So good. Fonuts is on 🔥🔥🔥
I took these to a holiday party and they were a huge hit. The donuts are a bit on the pricey side. The consistency is more like a baked cake (though lighter) than an actually fluffy fried donut. Loved them! MaryYourSoul(dot)com
GF donuts. Really good. Dedicated kitchen. $$$ but worth it. Good coffee and tea
Unfortunatly, Im changing my review from a 5 star down to a 2 star. This place has gone downhill. I was excited when they were under new management, but the change only lasted for a couple months. Employees (usually the females) act as if its a chore everytime a customer walks through the door. The prices have gone up, and are outrageous! The only positive change I still have to give them credit for, is that they no longer run out of product every damn day like they use to. Really unfortunate that they just cant pull it together.
Aesthetically pleasing donuts, breath of fresh air atmosphere. You wont feel guilty for eating a pastry or two. Enjoy~
Good on you for ending your association with hateful people and taking a public stand against intolerance and those who seek to deny other people their civil rights. When I return to LA I will definitely pay you a visit.
Went there yesterday and got a Salted Caramel & a Cinnamon Sugar. They were very delicious. They staff is also super friendly. I would definitely recommend.
