Just started working with Lisa and Gabriel on a restoration of one double bass and the consignment sale of another. Despite being terribly busy, they took the time to listen to me, answer any questions I had, and help me come up with the right plan of attack for both instruments. We are very fortunate to have such kind craftspeople in California! Really excited to see how the restoration turns out!

Lisa made it simple to schedule time to bring my acoustic bass to be assessed for maintenance and appraised. She communicated easily and met me at the car to deliver my instrument. She is extremely knowledgeable and I am confident in her work.

Another visit to LA Bass Works for seam gluing work, endpin, and fingerboard dress. We are very lucky to have world class luthiers like Lisa and Gabriel who specialize in double basses. I cant say enough about their work. The repair prices are reasonable, and they get your repair done promptly. They are a full service and sales shop for basses and accessories, so I dont have to chase parts down. My bass always sounds and plays better after its been in their hands.

Absolute gem. If you need an upright bass to be repaired in Los Angeles look no further. Lisa is the person your bass will be repaired with loving care and expertise. She is a true master. You will not find a better repair person than her. Many bassists in Los Angeles all recommend her. She validates parking in the lot south of her workshop.

Lisa and Gabriel took me in, showed me around the shop, took time to answer all my questions, and let me play the basses for sale. The proverbial kid in a candy store experience was had... And they are pretty darn knowledgeable too! Totally the best day I had in a long time!
