I was amazed at the amount of inventory given the size of this store!I’ve stopped by for parts, pieces and connection hardware, though also became interested in their gear.There’s a nice selection of soundboards, keyboards, and midi systems!They even have a wind instrument room!A large assortment of connection cables, adapters and accessories are available.Thanks to the staff for the technical assistance, offering to help configure my setup. Thanks also for giving me the freedom to look around!There’s a special sound room studio available within the store.The main Sam Ash store is on the south side of Sunset, with the dedicated drum store on the north side of Sunset.There’s a few spaces around back for loading, with additional spaces behind the drum store across the street.Street parking is available at metered spaces along Sunset Blvd. or the first block of N Vista St. or the first block of N Martel Ave. Metered parking may be free on Sunday’s. Tho good luck finding a space!I found what I needed and then some. So I shall return!

My experience here is was incredible from the moment I walked through the door. I was greeted by Kevin, who was extremely kind and made me feel welcome from the start. He helped me check in the equipment I was selling and we even had a great convo about the items. I was helped by Stephen with selling my items as well as advising me on what equipment to purchase to upgrade my studio. I’m very pleased with his suggestion and the equipment worked out perfectly. Andrew assisted with my selling process and was knowledgeable and friendly. My entire buying and selling experience was flawless. The entire team worked together to provide me with a 5 star experience as a customer. Am proud to be a client here and will continue coming back!

Samash in Hollywood is a great alternative the large Guitar store next door. They have some unique items like, woodwinds, different guitar items vs others. The customer service level is higher as they are able to give you more time to help you find the gear you need. I also noticed they are able in some cases give you more for your trade in vs GC.Thank you!

Every time I enter the store, I’m always greeted and received with a smile. The customer service was great and friendly!They always help you out and if a product isn’t in stock, they’ll go out of their way to get it.

Has a bit more variety in terms of instrument types (sax, violins, double bass) than the guitar center nearby. The staff are great and they have a decent amount of high end guitars and mid-ranges. Something my local music store lacks.Better than guitar center? Not by much. They’re about the same and my choice would depend on the day.

Sam Ash Hollywood is one of the best music stores in Los Angeles. I love shopping here because they make it so easy and they have such a great selection of instruments and accessories. I’m one of their older customers so I’m not always purchasing many new instruments. That said, I do have many elderly instruments that require special care and love. I’ve been taking my guitars to Sal, in the service department for many years because he does such great work. He’s what I would call a “Guitar Whisperer”,He understands the instrument and can look at your guitar and tell you what corrections it may need and then executes a solution with timely action. I really trust him and I’ve been to many guitar luthier‘s in my time. This is definitely a great store with a wonderful selection of instruments and a great staff to help you make the right decisions. Thank you Sam Ash!!!

Great store with great sales associates. Very helpful staff was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. we drive to the Hollywood location from Santa Barbara simply for the fact we know they stay up to date on their stock unlike certain other chain guitar/ music equipment stores that never have what we need even when the website indicates it in stock at that location. Couldnt be happier with my new big sky reverb pedal.

I have been a Sam Ash customer for years and have always found your staff to be both knowledgeable and skilled. Sal, your Hollywood store luthier is particularly skilled, a true artisan. I have had my guitars worked on by all the best luthiers in town, so I speak from experience when I say he is one of the best; and also a very nice guy.Andrew, your Hollywood manager, really came through for me last week. I had been having feedback problems with my very high-end Sure KSM8 mike and was all set to trade it in (at a loss) for a lesser Sure mike with a tighter pattern. But Andrew advised I should not do that because the mike I already had is so good. Rather, he showed me out to rearrange my speakers so as to stop the feedback; and it worked. That advice cost him (and you) a sale, but it has made me an even more devoted Sam Ash customer.

Lived in Flint, MI my whole life and I heard about the music shops on sunset Blvd. Came to Cali, entered the shop and talked with Victor. Coolest customer experience Ive had in a long time, and I used to work at guitar center. Im definitely coming back again next time Im in L.A.

Placed an online Order with Sam Ash, I recieved a confirmation and also a shipping confirmation email. then the games started. First email said they had no stock although there website said they had three. then they offered me a used amp. After I refused they said they would sorce a new one and let me know. 4 days later I hhad a call from someone who said he would try and sorce one. then he emailed me backed saying he was not the person for this. Im still in the roundabout and they have had my money all week. Truely bad experience from everyone here

A good variety of guitar, but the service is not that good...

Kyle was amazing! I went in because my tenor was acting up and he took the time to check the tenor, looked for leaks and walked me through what options I had as far as reeds go to get a better sound. Thank you Kyle, for being awesome and courteous.

My usual flute repair technician was unavailable so I took a chance with KYLE STOLZ at Sam Ash ( my first time in a Sam Ash store). My experience at Sam Ash was excellent. Kyle took care of my flute and I got to play some nice acoustic guitars while I was waiting. I will return to Sam Ash for future musical needs. Not bashing Guitar Center, but I found the vibe at Sam Ash to be far superior. I was a professional musician for 50 plus years, play numerous instruments, and hold a masters in music education...I only include my background to qualify my review.

Always an excellent experience at this store, but my visit yesterday cemented my continued support. Victor took care of me all the way from my initial phone call to the final checkout process. His expertise ensured I left with everything I needed at the exact price I expected. I saw him handling difficult customers like a champ before dealing with me and he never missed a beat in professionalism.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. I went with my friend who wanted to buy a bass and obviously he wasnt going to buy the first one he sees so he wanted to check them out, but after the first bass he saw the employee seemed bothered and in a really rude way raised his voice and said SO WHAT ARE YOU JUST GONNA LOOK OR BUY like come on you cant get mad for customers wanting to check out before they buy. Guitar center treated us better :)

They werent able to special order the strings I due to COVID backups, however the sales associate recommended trying to Ernie ball paradigm strings instead of my normal NYXLs. Really glad I was given these! The staff were extremely helpful and polite

Store is right on Sunset, historical birthplace for Motley Crue, Guns n Roses, and many other famous bands. Be sure to admire the GIbson Slash Custom double neck guitar right up front! More importantly, Frankie and the boys will take good care of you. Unbelievable pedal selection and a few deals not marked on the website, definitely a destination stop if you love rock n roll!

Been shopping here for many years, at this particular location. These guys are the quintessential go to guys, for all your music needs! Not only do they have everything, they have one of the finest teams of salespeople ever. Very attentative to your needs. The Manager Scotty is a standout. Been there for a long time and literally fits you with the right gear for your styles within minutes. Its amazing and the service is world class!

The staff rocks the staff rocks and in case I didnt mention it before the staff simply rocks from management to the Salesforce everybody is kind everybody loves music and importantly everybody is absolutely respectful.

We love, love, love this place. I currently have 2 daughters who are taking piano lessons. They have an amazing teacher, who is able to adjust her teaching to fit their individual needs. I am always amazed at how fast they are picking it up. I also love that they have recitals to showcase learning. My girls love it here and I dont plan on going anywhere else.

I am beginning to learn to play violin so I went in to have a look at the different types there where. Usually when I come here with my husband to look at instruments (he’s a guitar player) the staff seems rude and as if they know more and they look down at clients. I guess it’s a good thing for them to know more but it doesn’t feel it’s in a good way more of a “they don’t know what they’re doing” kinda way. I’ve been here with other musician friends to look at drums sets, bass, piano, etc. Anyways, the staff always makes me feel intimidated to ask questions. On my visit today I was helped by Freddy with my violin purchase. I was really happy with him that I give him 5 stars. He was very honest, he gave me time with the instruments so I can take my pick. He showed me how to handle my instrument. I had done my research before hand so that I could be sure and he explained everything clearly. He has great customer service. There was other clients looking at saxophones and he was giving them the same amount of attention as me. I was very happy with my visit because of Freddy. Music stores need more genuine people like him. :) Thank you!

Ive always been able to find really nice higher end model guitars at Sam Ash Hwood. Its my go to spot if I need to find something good quick, staff is always nice, and always help me.

I bought a used Larrivee guitar that is probably the best guitar I have ever owned including several Martins and Gibson, the staff knows their products well and answers any questions promptly, I will no doubt buy more products from Sam Ash...

I love Sam Ash Music! They always have the gear Im looking for and the staff is always courteous and professional. I walked in and asked to test a specific effects pedal. The rep hooked me up in the practice room with a guitar and the pedal. Then he let me play as long as I wanted. No pressure! Oh and he also gave me a good price!

I recently worked with two different associates: MJ and Kyle Stolz, and I found both of their services to be exceptional. I purchased a new Yamaha Alto Saxophone from MJ then came back in a few days later to pick up some more materials and sheet music and had long discussions with Kyle. Excellent customer service. Sean, who works in the acoustic guitar department, is friendly and helpful. I went into the store asking for some cables and an amplifier to plug in an acoustic violin, along with a guitar case, and received a great deal altogether. I was even walked to my car to carry all of these heavy items, which I thought was very kind. I recommend this store to anyone, especially if you are looking for great deals and friendly personnel.

I head to this spot every May before I hit the road for touring on new material. With new ideas spouting out every year, they are more than helpful to give advice on what the best kinds of equipment are for me or if I even need anything new. They come at ya as friends, helping you build sounds and never push you into a purchase. Thats kinda priceless so Ill always head back here when Im looking for new gear or just a set of guitar strings paired with good conversation

I went in to have my guitar serviced by Sal, the stores guitar tech. The man is the best in the business when it comes to the utmost attention and care to your instrument as well as unmatched customer service! Not to mention hes an overall great dude. Its a grueling drive coming from the San Fernando Valley but its 100% worth the trek!

Best experience at any music shop! I went to guitar center across the street, but it was too loud and hectic, and they didn’t have what I was looking for. Sam Ash has a large inventory of Gibson ES 330-335 guitars, which I had been searching for. Ben plugged me into an amp, and then brought over an additional 3 guitars to try out. I spent a while playing through just about every model they had and finally found the guitar I was looking for (Gibson ES 330 satin walnut finish). Great store!

Went to several guitar shops looking for a guitar for my son. Joe and Andrew were so inviting and helpful. Some places just want to make the sale and move on. These guys seemed generally interested in the betterment of peoples musical interest. Really appreciate their help and selection.

Sam Ash has knowledgeable sales people that seem to genuinely care about their customers. There is a Guitar Center directly across the street from them that I will probably never go to again. When I walk into Guitar Center, I am virtually ignored by their unhelpful employees. By contrast, when I walk in to Sam Ash, I am immediately greeted by a friendly salesperson that wants to help me. This is how you conduct business. Good job, Sam Ash!

To be honest, I haven’t shopped here so I don’t know how good their selection is. But if they are half as good at selling music equipment as they are at being human beings you’ll be in good hands.I had a fantastic experience with their staff. I was walking my roommates dog one day and stopped to let the dog drink some water. They put a bowl of water outside for any dogs that are thirsty. One of the people inside came outside, unprompted, with treats - I was blown away.I don’t play and musical instruments, but if I did I would shop here.

Had to go to the Hollywood location for a warranty exchange. Unfortunately even though the item i went for wasnt in stock the where very gracious and attempted to find a similar/like product, unfortunately. I did show up about 5 min to closing so it was partly my fault they were unable to go through the stock room, as they where performing closing procedures.

Shok was great. He was very knowledgeable and personable. I enjoyed my time in the store and will be back!
