I love Montana Plains! The staff is always so friendly and I always feel very welcomed! The space is cozy and their pastries/sandwiches are amazing. Try the spicy goodness! If I could afford to have it every day for lunch I probably would. Always worth the stop!!

The eclair was delicious. But my Soul something (I forget the name) sandwich was so skimpy on the meat. Was a panini and the meat and cheese was barely warm. I would go back for dessert but not lunch.

I flew in from Los Angeles to have a visit with my family and my sister suggested we go the MP2 for lunch. It was amazing! We had a delicious soup that came with a beautiful piece of bread and for dessert some of the best eclairs I’ve had in a long time. The people who work there were so lovely and the meal delicious. I will definitely go back to try more of their amazing pastries and sandwiches !!

Being a small local owned business I understand things change. I usually try to give this place another shot once a month. I usually go in around 10am and try to order a breakfast sandwich, they always tell me they can’t make breakfast sandwiches until 10:30am. I went in today at 10:45am to get my breakfast sandwich finally since it was a little after 10:30 for them to tell me they couldn’t make a breakfast sandwich. So I ordered a Turkey on white bread, the lady up front told me it came with chips or cookie and a bottle drink or bottle water. The older gentleman who I assume is the owner said “No it’s a can drink or bottle water”. Moral of the story is if you can’t make certain things until a certain time advertise that. Also don’t put people up front of your business who don’t know what you get with a meal or etc. This was my final shot with this business and I will not be returning.

I really enjoy this place, but wish they were open on Sunday mornings. I leave for work at 6am everyday and miss out on their coffee and delicious food Mon-Fri. Weekends are my sort of recovery days from being on call and usually working 65-75 hours during the week in the field.

Two of us got the soulmate sandwich for lunch. It was delicious. Bread can make or break a sandwich and the ciabatta was really good. The flavors of meats and sauces were perfect. We thought it was like Panera- only much much better. It was really delicious. I might go back tomorrow!

Got an eclair and it was freaking delicious. It felt cold and dense and weighed a lot when I picked it up; turned out it was packed with a ton of delicious filling. So good.

Delicious spot! Stopped by here on a whim while traveling and got three delicious treats. Lemon bar, eclair, and red velvet brownie were all lovely. We came a little later in the day and the gentlemen at the register was kind enough to throw in an extra lemon bar :)

Wow! Ive been passing this place for years and immediately regret it after stopping there today. Tried all the stuffed brioche and the cream puffs and everything was delicious.

Montana Plains is the best locally owned bakery in Lynchburg. Whether you come here to the Wyndhurst location or Boonsboro their menu and service is top notch.

Ive lost over 30 lbs. eating twice daily at this Bakery, heres how I did it: Get one of their crustless quiches for breakfast or dont eat the pie crust on a regular quiche either spinach, Lorraine or sausage. For lunch I had a half salad, I tried not to eat the fruit and then a full chicken breasts on top. Use a light vinaigrette or oil and vinegar as a dressing. Have a sensible low carb dinner before 8 p.m. And repeat. Another option is to buy a whole quiche pie put in your freezer and warm up each morning. Again dont eat the pie crust. I have indulged in their custard pies and other delicious delicatessens which are always fresh and incredible.

Being from VA Beach where we have more options, this bakery is well below average. I am guessing the high stars are due to the lack of options in Lynchburg. Their baked goods are not unique and I can make better at home. The prices are very high for the area.

NEVER AGAIN. My first and last visit to this location. After standing at the counter waiting to place an order while the woman chit chatted with a customer for some time, the phone rings and thus begins another long conversation. Finally I got to order my sandwich. Only to be deceived by the prices posted on the chalkboard menu - that are inaccurate. I ordered pesto turkey sandwich at $8.50 & was charged $9.50 which I asked why - the woman looked confused then the guy in the grill said that we raised all our prices.The sandwich was mediocre at best and was to include the oatmeal raisin cookie I ordered with it. Which was found to be choc chip when I got home. Apparently to challenging for employee to remember what I ordered while yet again yacking on the phone.I understand a friendly atmosphere and can allow time for that - but there was no focus on customer SERVICE. So if all you want is to hang out & chat this is your place.

MPB has the freshest baked goods. My personal favorite is the cinnamon cream cheese brioche. They had a wonderful selection. I went in for the brioche and came out with a quiche, red velvet Valentine Cake, and of course the brioche; however I will be be for a fresh made-to-order deli sandwich very soon. They sound fantastic and smell even better. 😉MPB is the best.

My husband and I split a Savory Filled Brioche Bun and a Fruit Cream Cheese Roll. The brioche was rich and tender. The Blackberry and cream cheese danish was moist with just the right amount of sweetness. Both were fabulous.

Honestly cant say enough nice things about this bakery! The blue berry or raspberry cream cheese rolls are to die for, and so is everything else Ive had there. Also the people are as nice as it gets and you can place pre order in shop and over the phone.

We stumbled upon this bakery by accident, but it was AMAZING!!! The staff was very friendly, and helpful. The baked goods were so moist with the perfect sweetness. The soup was savory with a ideal blend of ingredients and spices. The quiche had a flaky, buttery crust that was incredible. Already have a plan to drive the hour back for more!!!!!.

Incredible bakery! The sandwiches are always great – especially the Rueben. You can’t leave here without at least a couple different pastries or baked goods. Everyone is super friendly and you won’t leave hungry!

Lynchburg needs more bakeries. This place is over-rated and highly over-priced! I believe it is because the average individual has never tasted well baked goods.

We happened upon this place, and it is a gem. Easily one of the best eclairs I have eaten. My husband said the same about his cream puff. No pictures to post because we ate them before thinking about it... 😄

If it Is at all possible do not miss stopping in at this bakery. The people are extremely friendly, the selection is extremely wide, and the food is absolutely scrumptuous. Every time I come to Lynchburg, if I have opportunity, I stoppy and at this bakery.

The Maine Root ginger beer was delightful; it wasnt like other ginger beers and I dont know how to describe the complexity of the flavor. I had The Steve with a few customizations: the horseradish-mayo was substituted for house-made pesto and the bread was a perfectly buttery Texas toast instead of the same-day ciabatta that was sold out. Definitely one of the better places to get a bite in Lynchburg. The chocolate chip cookie was on point too.

The breads are fresh and everything is made from scratch (or at least I think they do). I love the lemon bread with pistachio icing - can’t get enough of it! My favorite is the spinach brioche- only wished they served it all day, not just in the morning. Some people like me love drinking tea/coffee with brioche in the afternoon.

I love this bakery! It has a relaxing and warm atmosphere, delicious sandwiches, tasty treats, and everything is handmade! I also love the art on the walls and the friendly staff. Happy people make such a difference and brighten my day! Looking forward to my next visit there :)

This is a great place to go to get incredible baked goods and a hot cup of coffee. When youre here, you truly feel like a local. The cashier knows everyones names! Make sure to try their Brioche buns; they are absolutely incredible!

This is one of my favorite places in Lynchburg; its walking distance from our house and we go at least once a week. The staff is wonderful and I havent tried one thing I dont like. All of their baked goods and all of their lunch sandwiches are AMAZING! Everything is made fresh every day and you can definitely tell!

Great pastries and the owner is very friendly! He was understanding when it took us a while to find something that our kids, who dont eat dairy, could have and explained the options well. He even gave our kids some pie slices for free. Well definitely make this a regular stop.This is the closest you can get to a European bakery in Lynchburg.

Awesome sandwiches and baked goods! We were in town for the day and stopped by for a late lunch. I had the Thomas Jefferson on french bread. My hubby had the turkey on panini. Both were great. We also walked away with a slice of red velvet cake and an eclair for later. Both were also great! Wonderful service, homemade bread and a friendly, knowledgeable staff. We will be back!

This is by far the best bakery around. The staff are the friendliest people, and serve you well. Everything I have had there is excellent.

I used to love this place but after ordering cheesecake for someone’s 50th birthday and paying $40 for average cheesecake I lost respect for this place. It was huge disappointment! We had family gathering and someone brought $5 cheesecake from Walmart and compare it to $40 cheesecake and everyone said that frozen $5 cheesecake was much more flavorful! The sad part was the way they handle the situation before we picked up the cheesecake. I called few day earlier to confirm about making sure they put fresh strawberries on the top and called them day before we were supposed to pick up cheesecake and even paid extra for fresh strawberries. The following day one of my family member pick up the cheesecake with strawberries nowhere to be found. I was very huge disappointment! The quality and service by this bakery was huge lost. Still good place to get pastries just the worst place to get special events big items!

The quiche is great! But not in paper cupcake and its very hard to scrape last morsels off paper that tear easily. Not laptop friendly, no outlets to keep your laptop from dying. But place is great and smells are fantastic!

The manager and assistant were very nice they were welcoming and even gave us a free sample of a panini sandwich-it was very tasty. My wife and I each purchased a chocolate eclair and it was worth every penny! Definitely will be back!

Lynchburg doesnt have many great hole-in-the-wall places, but this bakery stands above the rest. Sandwiches are stuffed with (Boars Head) meat and friendly faces to serve you. Their prices are a tad high - but worth it to support this small place. Keep up the great work!

Went in this morning. The man that helped me was very nice. I ordered a Bacon Brioche. When I got home I had a Pepperoni Brioche. In addition to getting a product that I didnt want, the cheese and Pepperoni had melted outside of the Brioche (all of it). Spending over $4.00 for a Brioche is not something that I do too often. I could have gone to Dunkin Donuts and spent half the money and had a product with all of the filling inside.Sorry to have to right this about a great place. With the amount that they charge for their items this can t be excused.

OMG. First time visit. Couldnt decide between the brownies or an eclaire. Said they were known for their eclaires, so I gave them a try. Heaven!! Huge visions of puffed pastry with to die for filling! Staff friendly and helpful.

Iced coffee and little cheesecake bites were really good, but poor service I would say. Even though they were not busy at all and they had three people working out front, we had to wait several minutes before anyone even asked if we had been helped yet...
