MAJOR IMPROVEMENTI came here today and received awesome customer service from 4 different people working there. I noticed there is a much more positive atmosphere than I noticed before seems like the employees are a lot happier than they used to be and they had a ton of kids there having fun racing cars in the back room. I bought my son a race car and he started racing with the other kids and there was no charge for using the racetrack. I also purchased two LiPO batteries and the owners solder new connectors on there for me for free. They used to charge for this service but explain to me their customers appreciate the free service and they care a lot about their reviews online so they stopped charging customers for small service soldering and things like that. Again huge Improvement and I will be coming here every week from now on with my son to buy something new
Galaxy Hobby is one of the few place that are left which is locally owned and friendly place with many option to choose for shopping for RC and plastic scale model. It was my go to places for shopping my model but I been informed that shop is closing its door at end of June.It very sad that place is closing but I hope it open it back up in future.thank you for all the great memory.
Great selection of different hobby supplies: model trains, cars, rockets, etc. For Cub Scouts, they even have Pinewood Derby supplies (car kits, tools, weights, decals, glue...). And in the back of the store they have a band saw that they let you use to cut out the shape of your car -- for free! (Or theyll even do the cutting for you if you prefer!) Very helpful employees.
A good hobby store is always hard to find. Galaxy hobby have an incredibly diverse selection, with reasonable prices and friendly staff who make the visit enjoyable. Whilst the inventory is very diverse, specific hobbys lack inventory and expertise. I feel most of the staffs knowledge of Model Trains is fairly limited, as is the inventory. However, it is more then sufficient for most of my needs, and if I ever need anything special I can always make the half hour drive to east side trains. Been coming here since I was 9 and see myself coming here for a long time
Their soldering service is fast, inexpensive, and high quality. The employees are friendly and very helpful. However like most RC hobby shops Ive visited the selection of race quad/drone related parts was limited.
These folks are great. Very friendly and knowledgeable, with a great selection. Theyre also very supportive of the community and of scouting. Well done, Galaxy Hobby!
Tim was awesome! Very knowledgeable. Great customer service. Far exceeded expectations. Ill be doing all my RC research and purchases here. Thanks guys!
I think everyone knows Galaxy Hobby by now. I regret writing this review so late, because I just found out that theyre being forced out of their building today due to development. Knowledgable, friendly, and have tolerated me asking them to hold a model kit for me countless times. Please follow them on social media and support them if they are able to find a new storefront.
Every time I go in, the staff seems to be nice, although sometimes busy. But thats ok, its a hobby shop, where you get to play with stuff while you work. Selection seems to be good. Wish I had more time to build models so I could buy some of the stuff that they have. And every visit, their selection seems to be different. So, I would figure that they probably sell a lot of models on a regular basis.
This has been my favorite store to go to for modeling/rock tumbling supplies for years. The staff and owner(?) are super nice and helpful and they have a nice selection of products.Especially nice if you paint RPG miniatures or like to put together model boats or planes, or even just jigsaw puzzles. They also sell some cool drones, and neat project kits for kids which make for great gifts.
This place is excellent! Great staff who are friendly, knowledgeable, and super helpful. If they dont have what I need they do fantastic work finding it and I really appreciate that.
I really like this small hobby store. Its catering more towards hobbyists and has tons of stuff for them. this includes kits to a wide selection of wood. They provide everything that I use while building models and are a little pricier than other stores but is nonetheless, very reasonable.
They have been very helpful with an dromeda RC that was giving me all sorts of problems. And then they helped me tons when I had an issue with trying to control a new drone with an ancient controller. Also told me the trick to getting my rock polisher to work. Thanks guys.
I love the Galaxy hobby shop theyre very friendly nice people there and very helpful I wish I was there in the same state where theyre located because now its going to be hard for me to get parts for my RC car that you always have parts in for RC cars matter what
This place is great! A classic, local owned Hobby shop with good people.
Good prices. Good people who answer your questions and invest their time with you. Also one of the few places with a good RC supplies for miles.
Great selection of parts, cars, planes, quads, models and experiment type kits for kids. They do races on Sundays too. RC rules, not often you find such a fun hobby packing in so many STEM subjects: mechanics, electronics, physics, RF broadcasting...
Im going back to college to get a degree in electrical engineering and want to do a senior project building an autonomous drone, which I know absolutely nothing about. One employee spent a half hour explaining various ways to do this using a quadcopter, either fully assembled or from a kit. I went on line and looked up prices and quality of the products he recommended and the quality was high and the prices the same as mail order stores. Ill need advice on how to do this so Im buying my stuff here because of the service Ill need and his willingness to provide it. You have to be clear on the precise purpose of your project and how much you can spend on it. They arent going to hold your hand as if you were a child wandering around Toys R Us.
Love this small hobby shop. Used to buy all my model train stuff there when I was younger. Very insightful employees. They carry a great selection as well
Good selection and prices, also they are open on Sunday. The help is very helpful.
My favorite local hobby store. Pretty good selection of scale models and scale modeling tools and paints. Friendly staff, good customer service, and reasonable prices.
I use to run a hobby store that didnt have a quarter of what this store has. Not only they have a good selection of R/C cars, trucks, boats and airplanes, they have rockets to rock tumblers. Staff is super helpful. If your adult toy has an issue, they are more than willing to help you solve your problems. Theres a back room where they have club meetings to classes and demos.
Very nice place. Lots and lots of trains models and rc stuff and paints. I mean Wow!
Staff was great. Had lots of parts for rc cars and boats, some airbrush, painting, etc. I was needing more nerf modding parts which they lacked but understandable. Great shop with helpful and knowledgeable staff
Really enjoyed the time and the staff well what can you say. They are great
Amazing store, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, and prices for some items better than on Amazon! Great selection of hobby items, material and components.
Good folks. Great selection. Knowledgeable and dont try and oversell you
This is an excellent hobby store for the serious model builder and their family. They carry everything from the raw materials and the tools to work with it to plastic models and Thomas wooden trains. Prices and selection are good.
A true hobby store, a little on the spendy side, but they have a TON of hard-to-find stuff. The best place for model kits (including balsa planes, boats, etc.!), RC gear, trains, and a bunch of misc stuff.
Great selection of products, from models and scale trains to high-end RC enthusiast stuff, and the staff is all knowledgeable, friendly, and actually gives a damn about the craft.A+++... Thanks for being a great example of what a small business *should* be!
This place is great. The staff is always kind and helpful. Ive stopped in twice with my X-Maxx and both times they pulled the work mat out and helped me with my issues. Ive been to Hobbyland in Everett and Redmond, and I have to say Galaxy is a much more pleasurable experience. The employees are knowledgeable and great you with a smile. Both Hobbyland stores made me feel like I was inconveniencing them and showed little enthusiasm or care.
Lots of neat stuff. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Huge selection of hobby supplies. Pretty decent pricing too.
Great service, great selection, made me feel like a kid again! So fun
Wide assortment of military models, tools, paint, building supplies, and RC options. They were very nice answering all my questions.
We recently bought two drones, not knowing about the no return policy. The drones worked well at first, but within a hour one of drone’s batteries couldn’t fit properly, and within a next day the other drone lost a simple part that the shop couldn’t replace. If wanting to buy something in the shop, make sure you research about the product first.
Great place, good selection, excellent model paints department, more figurine models than most shops.
Twenty visits or more now! 5 stars. Buy Local. Owner works there! I have compared prices. They are the best pricing, anywhere. Mikes not kidding when he says he meets internet pricing. But on top of that his service is spectacular. Today I was in there and they called their competitors looking for something for a guy. No kidding, Ill always go here first. Today I needed to fix my Traxxas 1/10 truck, I came in and the first thing they did was laid out the repair mat for me. I felt SO welcome. Really happy with the whole experience. Dont buy off Amazon, go here!Update Mar 19: Needed very obscure Traxxas screws. They had 1) 3rd party replacement 2) staff with knowledge to find them. I’m overjoyed. Thanks again. Saved me $20.
Very knowledgeable. Large selection from R/C carsand planes to games and puzzles and trains
If I could give this place a 0 I would. My boyfriend bought one of the stupid drones that are popular right now, cost him $500. It was a pain in the butt, he couldnt figure out how to get it to fly, the thing barely came out of the box. In fact it never even flew or went outside. He took it back THE NEXT DAY and they refused to take it because he had opened it and the manager claims they dont take back electronics that have been opened.Soooooo what theyre telling their customers is that if you open something, dont like it, and want to take it back you cant. Basically youre giving them $500 for an item you dont want and will not use. Thats plan bullcrap to me. Every other major store in this country will take things back opened. Freaking ridiculous. Dont buy large items from these people. In fact dont buy from here period.
A real hobby store with great sails people.
Excellent hobby store. Theyve got it all.
...if you love modeling, this is your place...!!!
!! AMAZING PEOPLE HERE !!These guys are a gem for our local community.
I brought in a DJI quad-copter I bought off the internet from another store that had a REALLY small retainer clip that had come off of one of the motors. Brought it in and the young man behind the counter had the tool needed to get it back on and promptly did so. Took him about 5 minutes and when I asked him what I owed, he said just to see them next time I wanted to buy something. I thought that was great and will be back to buy from them in the future.
Im giving 3 stars. They seem to carry a lot of everything but little of one particular thing. For me it RC cars. Very little selection out side traxxas, arrma, and hobby horizon vehicles( maybe a total of 12 different RCs all together im guessing) Im sure its a tough business to be in and you have to choose wisely what you choose to take up shelf space but its not a hardcore RC shop if one even exist. Its a hobby shop! I really wanted to buy local and be a returning customer but there lack of product and parts doesnt suit my needs. Giving 3 stars. Average selection and average service.
Great owners and they have a repair program for rc vehicles
Pretty big selection and all the little parts and rods and connectors and tires and gear is nicely organized on the floor, not behind the counter. The OTHER place is nosey about what youre getting parts for and sometimes come off snobbish, thinking theyre helping you. Im talking about hobbytown USA of course! Id much rather shop and spend my hard earned money at a ma and PA/locally owned shop that gives a rip by, sometimes, not giving a rip!
Friendly helpful staff, they have the best selection of RC stuff around
Great selection of models, RC aviation, and trains along with a number of other hobbies. Helpful staff as well.
Very helpful staff, they have a great stock of parts for planes, cars and boats. Best selection of boat parts in the Seattle area.
Very friendly owners and staff. very helpful and knowledgeable staff. these guys play for a living. =D
Nice wooden display table, nothing in stock tho & clerks seem to only notice us as we were leaving store
Best selection around for rc parts with all brands
Currently got blade 350qx, friendly owner!!! its a little costly but worth it. only thing i dont like is when calling them, they would say they have it in stock but when showing up at store, they r clueless!!! either way, there is a awesome guy who works on Tuesdays, great guy with lots of info
Knowledgeable staff, decent stock on hand, decent pricing, always friendly. TCS racing in the summer!
Models are 30 to 15 percent off. Go before its all Gone. Paint on sale 40 percent off.
Great parts and service-Ashank
These guys are sooo professional in the way they approach the job and, informing customers thoroughly to the point you completely understand. Being a newbie in the rc game, safe ta say Ive no need to go anywhere else. Btw, I got the Traxxas Stampede, extremely fun. Have yet to get on the track in Marysville.
Havent started my new hobby yet, (recently disabled) but am looking at Copters/quads as something fun to do. Anyways. I was worried about the way I might be treated (comic book guy has ruined it for scared newbies, LOL!) as a completely clueless newb. But reading Old Ben Ludlums review, has shown me that Ill be in good hands w/ your store. He really answered my questions. Hope to see you soon. ;)
It’s closed. There’s nothing and nobody in the establishment right now.
Almost like a museum so much selection and helpful staff.
Always have a good time in here!
Always helpful nerds working its great
Very helpful staff and a great selection of terrain that I was looking for.
This place sucks, has NOTHING in stock, employees have NO idea what they are talking about and are basically worthless, theu dont even notice you when youre hanging around the counter
Great place to shop, knowledgeable staff.
Nice selection. Great people.
Just cant find Hobby Stores anymore. This aint your Moms Hobby Lobby !!!More epoxy and Nitromethane than Yarn lol
I get all my parts for my rc cars here
Employees are very nice and helpful
Awesome owners and employees, highly recommend.
Customer service is lacking to say the least. Employees dont pay attention to you when you walk around the store. Didnt seem like anyone knew what they were talking about either. Stay away hobbiers
My #1 favorite place
Helpful staffCool stuff
Great place, know what they are talking about
Going out of business, very unfriendly but to be expected I guess.
Great shop but so sad about running out of business soon. On sale everything now.
A real hobby shop with a large stock of plastic model kits, hobby paints, RC cars and parts, RC planes, N and HO scale model trains and more.
Sadly they have to close :(
Great hobby store!
