I went for a disc brake rotor replacement. They only had high-end rotors available so I was offered free labor. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I will take my bike here from now on.

My chain was jammed and I went in and the guy working there helped me right away and fixed it very quickly. He didnt even charge me for the repair, it was great customer service and I would highly recommend.

I was interested in a pair of cycling shoes. I called ahead and Kevin verified that a pair of the shoes were in stock and he would put a hold on them. I got there with less than an hour before closing, but Kevin insisted that I could spend some time to look around regardless of the 6pm closing.The store is in a former railroad station and it made me feel that I was transported back to a bygone era. There are bikes, tools, parts, clothing and accessories.Kevin has a lot of knowledge and experience in the cycling industry. He was helpful but not pushy. It was worth the two hour drive to do business here.

Motorless Motion is located conveniently alongside the Southwest Commuter bike bath in an old train station. My friend and I were greeted by a friendly salesperson who efficiently found the item we needed, asked if that would be all, and checked us out. Theres a neat lighting and layout to the shop, my friend remarked. Theres even vintage bike art all throughout. Helpful staff. Cool shop.

I came in to have my bike serviced and to look at some carrier accessories. The employees in both sales and service were super friendly and very helpful. My bike got fixed above and beyond what I had come in for, and was done while I waited. The sales employee helped me take the accessory out of the box and demonstrated its use to ensure it was what I was looking for.

The personal attention. It really matters - I had a complicated order with a foreign manufacturer which got caught up in the whole global shipping fiasco. Paul was extremely helpful, honest, and made it right. Im now riding a better bike (Cannondale Synapse) that I never wouldve considered and would never have found if not for the staff at MoMo.

Was the 4th bike shop I went to. And actually had some inventory. Worked with norm and he did an awesome job answering 1000 questions. Let us try any bike we wanted and if he didnt know the answer he looked into it. Highly recommend. Me and my buddy both ended up with a bike that day and bringing another friend there today for one.

What can I say -- they hooked me up with a new bike during the pandemic and provided great, friendly service while maintaining social distancing. The staff also were great about listening to what I wanted despite the fact I couldnt always express it in technical terms, and made me feel comfortable. I love the bike, and its a joy to ride. I recently took apart my front wheel and brake bridge/pads to fit my bike into a car. I called in asking if they could help me fix it, as I am having trouble figuring out how to fix it on my own and was hoping that this was something they could do quickly and easily.They told me not to come in and to figure it out on my own instead. I dont really know what I did wrong/why they would turn away a paying customer? I wish I had purchased my bike somewhere else.

This is one of Madisons high end bike shops. Its for serious grown-up bikes and their stuff comes at a serious grown-up price. But they know their business really well, and will work with you to ensure you get the right product. They carry multiple options at multiple price points, so you can keep things reasonable (relatively) and clearly understand what the difference in price means per purchase.The service guys know their stuff and will work with you until youre happy with their adjustments. Theyll discuss options and point you towards the right thing, not the most costly thing. I highly recommend this store.

Took my old bike in for repairs and they completely looked it over for no charge and called me up and told me with the repairs Id have to put into the bike arent worth the bikes value. Took my bike for a tune-up and was really really happy with work that was done to my bike & feels like it rides brand new again. They clearly did a thorough job cleaning parts and recalibrating the brakes and bike shifting gears. Would highly recommend Motorless Motion to anyone looking for bike service or repair as these people are experts!

Motorless bicycles is a a cool bike shop with an awesome selection.Paul was a really nice guy and super helpful in answering all my questions and taking care of my concerns. I test rode a bunch of bikes and I was even there a little after their store closed and I never felt rushed.

Staff was so helpful. They weren’t able to true my tire as good as they wanted to so they took 10 dollars off the price. They are way more affordable than any other bike shop in the area. If you need maintenance done definitely go to MoMo

This is one of the absolute best customer service experiences Ive had.I walked in and was rather nervous because I had never purchased a bike for myself and had no clue what I needed. But they instantly made me feel comfortable. I told them how inexperienced I am and they pointed me in the right direction right away. Once they showed me their suggestions, they let me browse. There was absolutely no pressure. When I saw a few I liked, I asked for their opinion just to make sure it was an okay bike for a beginner. Even though I picked one on the very lowest end of their price range, there was none of the but if you spend a little more money, you could get... They let me test ride. They walked me through how to take the front tire off. They explained that theyll adjust things for me if anything feels off. They even walked me to my car and helped me load it! Overall wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

The bike guy was really awesome at showing me different bikes to try and adjusting them for my hand. My right hand is small and has issues with shifting/braking, so he helped adjust all of the bikes for me to test ride with. And when I did find my bike, they switched the brakes and adjusted the right side for me fairly quickly. Its nice to see that my concerns were addressed, and no one put my hands in an awkward spotlight. And I have a new bike!

Had an amazing experience at Motorless! unlike other shops I had been to, they were not pushy about me buying a bike which made the trip so much more enjoyable! They allowed me to walk around and check out all the bikes and then helped me pick out a few to ride base on my needs. They even got my boyfriend a bike to take out too so we could test out bikes together which I loved! I got a great bike at a great price from some seriously great people! THANK YOU!

I purchased my bike here a few years back and always bring it back here when it needs work. The staff are friendly and helpful. Every time I get a tune-up, my bike feels brand new.

The finished our trikes 2 days early at the original price. The trikes are tuned up and run like brand new. We are extremely pleased with the service.

I only bought a couple of tubes as I got a flat riding home, but the staff was very friendly and helpful and being able to use a few tools nicer than I carry on the bike made changing the tube easy.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. I came in with a flat tire a couple of years ago. The were willing to fix it right away, but after discussing my desire to have wider tires, they had some excellent recommendations. I ended up having them put on the recommended tires and I have been very happy with the results.

The service here is wonderful and very knowledgeable. Have had them give my bike a full tune-up before with great results and have even come in looking for a tune-up and the just said my bike didnt need one and spent a minute to adjust the brakes and derailleurs for free. Always willing to talk about parts and give you the best deal they can, cannot recommend them enough.

This bike shop has been really good helping me repair my bike. They have given me advice and sold me the right parts, and multiple times, I have brought it in with an easy to fix problem I don’t have the exact tool to do myself, and they’ve just fixed it right there in 30 seconds and let me go without charging me. Very good experiences so far.

Edit 7/1/18: Noticed squeaking while pedaling hard. Discovered two fasteners missing from my chainring (see photo), in addition to the remaining fasteners not all being the same color. There’s no way two of them worked themselves loose, so I can only conclude that the last people who touched my bike (Motorless Motion) didn’t install all of them back. This bike shop is incompetent. I suggest you never take your bike here.Pretty disappointed with this store overall. The attention to detail just isn’t here.I’ve had multiple instances of poor communication with this store. Most recently, I brought my bike in for a free tune-up (I bought it at Bikeorama). After having my bike for two weeks, they said it was ready and I went to pick it up. When I got there, the first guy I spoke to couldn’t find my bike and asked me if I was sure I dropped it off there. Uhhh, are you joking with me? The second guy I spoke to was able to find it, and said it didn’t need a tune up, but they fixed a slightly bent derailleur mount and some frayed handlebar tape.That’s great and all, but that means they had my bike for two weeks and basically did nothing with it. I dropped it off for a tuneup, which is what I wanted. The front derailleur still drops the chain when I switch gears from time to time. I was hoping this is an issue that would have been addressed when I dropped it off. I didn’t tell them about this, but it seems to indicate to me that they didn’t adjust anything. They didn’t even clean and lubricate the chain (which I usually do myself anyway, but hadn’t yet). What is a tune up supposed to be, then?In addition, they left a really nice deep scratch on my handlebars from where they cut the bar tape at the ends. Thanks a lot, Motorless Motion.The staff I’ve dealt with have all been pleasant, but I really just haven’t had great luck at this location. If you’re like me and value attention to detail and a sense that you’re entrusting your investment to people who care, I’d go somewhere else. Sure, my bike only cost $1000 and not $8000, but it was a lot of money for me, and I take pride in caring for my possessions.

These guys are rock out. They’re friendly and understanding about unique circumstances and I want to share a beer with them.

Update 8/14/20:While the purchasing experience was 5-stars, Ive been back to this shop a few times for servicing the bikes (they provided 2 tune-ups for free with each bike) and Id give 3-stars for service due to some iffy mechanics skill levels. Heres a list of mistakes the shops made that Ive had to correct after getting the bike back:-Hydraulic brakes were rubbing. I had to push the pistons back out. They likely squeezed the levers when the wheel was off.-Chain was sized too long (not a chainwear issue, checked with a chain checker), theres slack in the small-small combination. I took out two links and fixed it.-Rear derailleur was adjusted such that I couldnt shift into the two biggest cogs. Turns out the cable had too much slack so shifting to the lowest gear meant the chain only went to the 3rd lowest gear. And when shifting to the 3rd highest gear puts you on the 11t cog. You could do 2 additional upshifts and get nothing since youre already on the 11t cog. The mechanic said its a known issue with the brifter. I tightened the shift cable, re-did the indexing and it shifted fine into all 11 gears.-Asked them to install a powermeter crank that required a different bottom bracket that fit the thicker spindle. The mechanic looked at it and said there isnt a bottom bracket thats compatible with my bike and the new crank. Then a second employee came over and corrected him.Now that Ive used up my free tune-ups, Im going to be doing most of the work myself and looking at other shops for servicing things that I dont want to deal with.Previous review:Got my road bike here. Very good buying experience. Knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Let us try out multiple bikes and walk out without buying anything to think it over. Then few days later I came back to complete a purchase.
