Yes, its long but might be worth the time to read if you are looking for piercing!EDIT: I just dropped my review from 4 stars...someone called and asked if we could move our appointment because it was double booked: wh...huh? the appointment we had last week? Disappointing, yes. It is even less excusable if they double booked us 2 weekends in a row, huh?!?My nose stud lost its gem, day 7 or 8. Their paperwork says I cannot change it for 13 to 15 more weeks. I suppose I could go back but my work schedule the next few weeks isnt really flexible. This isnt what I wanted. I tried to be nice in my initial review. I wasnt thrilled with the service. I gave the benefit of the doubt on WHY a professional would be 20+ minutes late to an appointment (and double booked) because she was knowledgeable, quick and personable. She was still knowledgeable, quick and personable but I doubt I will be going back without a really, really good reason.Original review below:1st: Three of us booked a piercing appointment. When we arrived we were told the piercer was out picking up lunch for the whole crew and would be back soon. She ended up being more than 20 min past our appointment. Thats probably not her fault entirely but at no point was any acknowledgement made of her tardiness nor apology for it given. We found out she was double booked for our time slot, as well. If that was the only issue, it wouldnt have been a problem; we understand that those things happen. Luckily, we werent in a hurry.2nd: Her work was great. She asked a few questions to fully understand what we each wanted. She was quick and explained what she was doing as she went. I had a previous piercing at a mall location that missed the mark (literally) and my ear piercings are not spaced uniformly to this day! That was definitely not the case here. She hit the target 100%!Overall: I am satisfied with the service. I would have given 5 stars if she was on time or had acknowledged & apologized for being late.

They were so nice and helpful getting me in to remove my jewelry before surgery. When I needed it put back in, they told me to just show up whenever and they would help me. Every other place I called were not willing to fit me in.

Highly disappointed… I have been in this store before and quality was great with Jeremy and Shawn. I love this two guys!But now they have this low level apprentice that call him self Angelo. Super slow, the tattoo is too dark, tattoo almost disappeared after healing and on tap of that he try to charge me for the touch up.This Angelo guy is bringing the store down. 😠

I called to see if I could do a walk in later that day. I went in and they greeted me right away and had me fill out some paperwork. I was slightly nervous about getting my piercing but Kate did it and she talked me through everything she was doing.She was also very polite and efficient. From now on I will definitely be going here for future piercings and tattoos 😁

Got a tattoo done of a huge Eagle with a realism style. Have one more session to go with Jeremy. Everyone at the shop is super down to earth and easy going. Incredible artistry from Jeremy, Angelo, and Shawn. I was in the chair for quite a few hours and got to see a few people get theirs done. Nothing but great things to say. They are very accommodating and willing to create your tattoo designs. Can’t wait for more 🦅!!

I walked in 10 minutes before my appointment for some piercings. I was going to spend $120 on three piercings. But when I walked in no one even acknowledged me, my sister and brother in-law. Stood at the counter for about 3 minutes until the guy sitting right as you walk in digging in a drawer finally looks and asks why I was in for. I stated I was in for some piercings and asked prices again. He told me the piercer ran to get food should be back soon. Ok. So I went next door quick with my sister and brother in law and came back 5 after the appointment was supposed to start at the piercer was still not there still didn’t get greeted again as we walked in… shortly after she walks in looks at me and doesn’t even say anything. Super poor customer service. When it comes to this type of appointments I feel like the experience is a huge part and this experience sucked.

Got me in and out quickly for a walk-in nose piercing.

Went in there for a tattoo recently. didn’t feel safe at all. very few staff were wearing masks, not social distancing, etc. I was pretty uncomfortable and likely won’t be returning.

I came in a year ago (pre COVID) after receiving a gift certificate for the place. I scheduled an appointment for noon more than 2 weeks prior.I was the first to arrive to the building--understandable, I know some places open right then and there. My artist didnt arrive until 12:30, and didnt talk to me until 12:45-1 oclock. This is after talking to a walk-in and drawing his idea on them. I got on the table 1:15ish.When done, I showed my artist the gift certificate. He proceeded to ask me what it is and had to ask another artist if it was real.It was a beautifully done tattoo for the difficulty of the ribs - reason for second star, but the service was very questionable to the point I still remember it almost a year later.

Angelo did an amazing job. The tattoo is perfect Im obsessed. He was gentle and did amazing tattoo my tiny finger lmao.

Came here today for my boyfriend to get his first tattoo the people there are so cool! They were very funny and did AMAZING ART. Shawn was our artist and he was great! Went in to check the place out 2 weeks ago, after talking to Shawn and explaining what I wanted I was very comfortable booking an appointment with him for my tattoo. Had the work done today, and I am EXTREMELY happy with the end result. I have 4 other tattoos, and I can honestly say I never felt as comfortable and happy with my experience. I highly recommend shop and artist Shawn, he truly is an expert at what he does, and the entire staff made both my husband and I feel at home. We will be going back for my husbands tattoo when he picks one out.

We called ahead of time and scheduled a walk in for 2pm. We arrived at 1:50 and the guy who was supposed to tattoo us told us he was just about to run out and pick up lunch for everyone, insisting it would be quick and hed be back to start our tattoos soon. We sat and waited for ONE HOUR until he finally got back. Only one of the multiple artists reached out to us and asked us if we had been helped. Everyone else just sat around. There was even an artist sitting on the couches next to us drawing with some kids. It was so unprofessional. We left as soon as he got back from his quick lunch run. The place was also pretty dark and dingy. It just didnt feel clean. Im glad we didnt end up getting tattooed. We ended up going to Mind Floss and were in and out within an hour.

Ive been going to Bad Apple since I was 18 - 19 years old. Its the cleanest, friendliest and chill-est shop Ive walked in. I have five tattoos. One was done in a shop in Galena on whim. The owner was kind enough to touch it once for me when I was in for another tattoo. Ive brought friends here and recommend this shop to everyone. Even when I got my finger tattoos done last year my tattoo artist at the time warned me what could happen since the tattoos fade faster in these spots then others. Ive come in here for piercings and even have brought my own mother in this shop. The art speaks for itself; the time and effort each artist puts into their work is amazing.I know there will be only one shop I will go to and it is this one. When I’ve had small issues, there has never been a question will it be fixed. Everything has been done in a timely manner and done professionally.

Got my wedding ring done here. To me, tattoos are tattoos but the people here made the place awesome to me. Good conversations and no judgment.

I had the most amazing experience at Bad Apple. I am new to the tattoo scene and was looking to have a fairly large tattoo done on my thigh. I was a little nervous and unsure I would be able to do it in one session, but six hours later, I had an amazing piece of art on my skin. Ryan was incredible. His skill with a tattoo machine and his artistic talent are unparalleled. The line work is flawless and the shading is unbelievable. Thank you Ryan, for the encouragement and the slow clap! We came in today for a nose piercing, but the piercer wasnt there. We were upset but it is what it is, the issue was how we were spoken to. The lady stared at us when walking in and waited before greeting us. She looked at her coworker and gave a very annoyed, hello... When we asked about getting the piercing, she scoffed and laughed with her coworker. The place has some sort of animal running around that has left a huge mess in the front lobby. This place is very sketchy and had a very negative vibe.

Sam pierced me and she was AMAZING. Best piercer I’ve ever had. She was so clean & professional. She talked me thorough the whole thing and kept conversation going when I got nervice since they were nipple piercings. She made me feel 100% comfortable to be topless and connected with me so well. She NEEDS a raise and to be awarded for how great she is!

Went in with a friend to get her nose pierced, and spontaneously decided to get a tattoo, Ryan was amazing and my tattoo is gorgeous. Also Sam did amazing piercing my friends nose! The shop was clean and the employees are hilarious to be around, and make the over all experience memorable! ADDED BONUS - I WENT IN KNOWING THAT I WAS ALREADY OVER THE AGE OF 18 AND IT WAS COMPLETELY LEAGAL FOR ME TO GET A TATTOO 😊

Not going back. The tattoo itself was great. but I will not go back. Some guy had his toddler running around the place screaming at the top of his lungs. It was a guy that worked there his child. The place seemed kinda sketchy. My artist did a great job but was hung over both times I went in so I think it took him a bit longer then it should have. I have quite a few tattoos never paid this high of a price. Definitely going somewhere else for my next tattoo!! Dont ever come here!! Super unprofessional

Bad Apple always has, and always will be, a reputable business. The talent of the artists are enough that it is known that customers are willing to travel from out of state to get their work done there. Their ethics and integrity are beyond measure, and any claim otherwise can easily be refuted thus far. I would highly recommend anybody looking for a great tattoo experience to schedule their appointment here.

Worst experience ever, when it comes to tattoo we all know that we are looking for someone that responsible about his job. since we know we are going to keep it lifetime on our skin(laser removal will be expensive). I already talk to the artist and owner that I want specific design and how much it will cost.. In beginning they give good reviews about that work and recommend you the artist, later ask you to put down $50 to design the tattoo (making a quick money). I agree to it and send this guy all the reference images and said do not plagiarize it. On the day of my appointment this is what happened.1) The guy who I had appointment with he had nothing ready for my tattoo and making excuses of not having time and all lame excuses. I made another appointment.2) Second appointment which was two weeks later, He had only 30% design ready plagiarized right from the reference pictures that i sent, still I was being agree to having my work done.3) Now for the price he and the owner said different than what they were agree to it. before they said we charge by session for big art piece (8 hours=$500-600) and since my work was big (23-30 hr) they said we will charge now $125 per hour.4) when I said thats not something we were agree to than he said that this is tax season so I am busy with more client so this is my new rate. totally money hungry.... when we want to have tattoo done they ask client to sign waiver but they are not agree to have a pricing document ( how they charge, how much they charge per design and all).5) The place is rip off.... if you still planning to go there make sure you have everything documented from them just like they want waiver and all from customer.

Awesome work done here. Line and color work is amazing. Won’t go anywhere else. Everyone is friendly and it’s a very relaxed atmosphere. I don’t mind spending four hours getting tattooed here.

Bad Apple tattoo is the best parlor I have ever been too. I have had two tattoos done at two different parlors, I decided to try Bad Apple to fix up my existing tattoos. Even though I had to drive over an hour, the gas was totally worth it. The environment is extremely clean and very friendly. Jeremy, the artist who touched mine up, is really good at what he does and truly shows he knows what he is doing and keeps his customers best interest in mind. As I said I had been to other artists and I was amazed at how much was actually wrong with my tattoos. Jeremy was able to cover up some blow out from the ink and really improved the look of my pieces. Bad Apple also has very good prices. The gentlemen who work and run this parlor are great dudes and are running a very successful shop with even better talent. Check them out!!

I usually dont do this because Im a positive guy-- but I want to let everyone in the Madison area know to NEVER go to Bad Apple Tattoo Co. .. they took $50 from me to design a tattoo for my son, then told me they couldnt do it after the fact because my son isnt 18 for a few more months. (Had I known he couldnt get it anyway, I wouldnt have paid the money in the first place)They refuse to give me my $50 back and when I asked for the design they said they threw the stencil in the trash and gave me a photocopy.After a couple of days of being harassed by them and their associates, I had a chance to look at the design they came up with compared to what we showed them. We were able to find ALL of the graphics used on the custom tattoo online just by doing a couple of simple Google searches. They were images straight off the first page of a search. One of the images was even a copyright image from Shutterstock and they didnt even change the time on the clock even though we wanted it to be a birthday. It was the EXACT image from Shutterstock with no changes or modifications and it was ready to get stenciled on.That was the worst experience Ive ever had at a tattoo shop since I started getting tats. Worst tattoo shop, horrible service and they have no prob ripping people off. So now Im out $50 and no tattoo or proper drawing. I just want others to know so they dont make the same mistake I did.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Ive spent five times the amount of money getting a huge tattoo lasered off, less than one year after getting it done at this parlor. Worst tattoo experience of my life. I have a half sleeve and seven other tattoos. I have been to many parlors and have had multiple artists do my tattoos. I was told to go here because they do great work for a good price. But you get what you pay for I guess. A bullshit tattoo by a senior artist, who specializes in color tattoos. That place is full of unprofessional, full of excuses, trying to make a quick buck artists.

Not even exaggerating with the 5 stars, I just got my first tattoo with my fiance, who also got a tattoo. Sammi did us both and she is a really cool girl who will make you feel like your just hanging at a friends house getting inked up. She was very patient even though both me and my fiance loved the sketch she drew up from our reference pictures. Just make sure you know what you want and send their facebook page a private message with a reference picture ahead of time to make their lives easier and also save you time. Just like my buddy who recommended the place said, I really cant find any complaints. Each artist from my knowledge is reputable and a good group of folks. Both my fiance and I plan to stay loyal to this shop, and hope they see years of continued success. They are very fair with prices, given the consideration this is a very professional place, and not sketchy like some of the other shops in the surrounding Madison areas AHEM public enemy. Very friendly staff, and overall amazing experience! I was greeted right away and even called ahead and their service over the phone was fantastic! I got a lobe piercing, a tragus, and a helix, and they all look great! The tragus is by far my favorite, Matt did a great job. Bobbi (I think?) was the other piercer that helped out. Theyre both wonderful, although Bobbi did need a little help with the helix. Everything was super clean and they were very supportive during the piercing process. Amazing job guys! I will definitely be back for more in the future!
