I walked into Art Gecko, today, to look around. There were young women, working behind the counter, who were incredibly loud and obnoxious. One of them was preoccupied with trying on rings. Two of the women carried on, loudly shouting absurd things out loud to each other and getting carried away, like they were not at work. It was incredibly odd and immature. I was wondering who was in charge.No one offered to show me anything in the case because no one cared about making sales for the store. I was looking at the pendants and that was when I noticed one of the young women trying on 2 rings... I dont know how they make sales, with that kind of service. With self-absorbed/focused employees, that seems nearly impossible. In addition to the noisy women was the loud music, blaring from the speakers. Not to mention, their prices are high. The ambiance was absolutely bogus, for a rock shop. This place used to be better. Then again, every pendant Ive bought that was stamped or claimed to be 925 sterling silver has tarnished like it was something other than silver. How would I know? I couldnt polish the silver back to its shiny, light silver state. The metal changed colors, completely. I left the State Street Art Gecko feeling really annoyed after my experience, today.

Sklr helped my very grumpy older sister find the perfect spinner ring. They are the best sales associate I’ve ever worked with. The store has the best vibes on State Street.

They only return for in store credit. Its not posted anywhere in the store and nobody said that was their policy. When I asked about the policy they says it is stated, on the receipt!!! How is anyone supposed to know thats the policy before they actually buy something. Complete joke for real

This was one of the kindest, welcoming places I have ever worked at. The owner took me in during a really hard time and showed me some of the most genuine kindness I have received in Madison. They are extremely LGBT+ friendly, and I’ve never had people respect my non-binary pronouns like them. Their products are quite unique and a result of the dedication and love the Owner has for her work and the relationships she invests in - not only in her community, but oversees. The staff is spunky, individual, and unique. & extremely well educated on the products and are more than enthusiastic to give you opinions on what they love on you! The store radiates an energy you can’t find most places. This store will always have a special place in my heart and stand out on State amongst the rest 🌺

Honestly the best shopping experience Ive ever had. The people were so kind and helpful and were suggesting things without pushing any sales onto me. Some of the jewelry is a bit expensive but it is well worth it. Also some little knick nacks for cheaper. Will be returning!

Great selection of interesting goods, including both imported and locally made products. The staff were very helpful at the jewelry counter and well-stocked with chain extenders, polishing cloths, and other necessities. We appreciated being able to find some accessories for larger women -- often were sized out of interesting indie shops, but there were some roomier jackets and such in the back room, and plenty of chain-length options for pendants!

The place had a lot of nice pieces but the ladies that worked there were snobs, every one of them.

Really really cool store. If you are looking for unique and original items to fill your home with conversation starters this is the store for you.

They have beautiful and unique jewelery. Most items seem to be one of a kind. The person I spoke with was very knowledgeable and was able to name all of the stones used in all of the jewelry, where they were from and what they were used for. I had a hard time deciding on what to buy because it was all so beautiful. I really like this place and would recommend it.

I love the wide variety of worldly gifts Art Gecko carries. One of my favorite items Ive purchased from here is this beautiful pair of wooden meerkats, who have found a permanent home on my mantle. :) Theres always something new to look at!

Their rings are the best Ive ever seen. My boyfriend always goes the day after getting his paycheck to get another ring. Weve gone four weeks in a row just to look at the rings! Staff are so helpful and incredibly knowledgeable.

Love this store, a lot of things are made JUST for this store. Some are locally made. Great selection. The clothes run a bit smaller.

I just stopped in this store on my way down the street and now its somewhere I think about going back to all the time. They have extraordinarily unique dresses and accessories and everything under the sun!

It is an absolutely wonderful shop with stuff from all over the world that are very reasonably priced. I could spend my entire day here!
