Nothing in this store. Only had 1 register open in the whole store. Merchandise strategically positioned to make it look like they had stock, but they didnt. Racks of clearance stuff was abundant. :(

This JC Penny is my favorite store. So many fine items on display makes shopping easier. My favorite department is bedding. I love getting lost in that area. Nice store, very clean. Helpful, friendly staff. Easy to find location in East Town Mall.

I needed makeup and cut and dye. Shelby worked with me and was so nice. She made my shopping experience a awesome place to be. My stylist Reese was very nice and did a great job on my hair.I plan on doing all my hair and makeup at JCPenny forever. Kudos on hiring awesome employees

I was in air to give it three stars after reviewing my receipt I found that I was not charged the price posted on the sign I should have been charged the price on the sign pennies had forgotten to take the sign down and the blanket was no longer on sale but I purchased it on the price showing on the sign I am still trying to straighten out that problem if I have to return it it will be 130 MI round trip to do so if I cannot straighten it out over the phone with customer service I had called and had to leave a message and that was early in the day have not received a return call will now call customer complaint department and see how that will work out

The layout seems sparce. I was unable to find anything to wear for business attire.

I love Penny’s; always have! Great selection and more than fair prices! Especially like the curtain Dept, also linens and women’s clothing. I’m sorry about your financial problems—hope Madison east stays. It would be a real loss to close. Also friendly staff!

Used to love shopping at JCP ..but the hanger says one size...but the tag is another when you pick it up. So after walking around and looking for a half hour... Plus...nothing bought.

I love shopping here, but bisappointed that I had to walk around the whole 1st level to find a cashier working to check me out. The jewelry counter refuses too if you have clothing items and directed me back to a register area that no one was working at. Then the cashier was short and cold.

We love JC Penny! Great deals, great employees, great location. Nice to some traditional stores.

East Towne Madison JC Pennys looked like a ghost towne in inventory. Not much to choose from in certain areas of the store. Many areas were being cleared out of inventory and fixtures. I hate to see Pennys go as Sears did but as I said there was not a lot of things to choose from as there used to be. White, gray & small & double extra large seemed to be the colors & sizes available.Staff ... that we saw ... were very friendly and helpful!

Salon did a great job on my sisters hair it was severely dried out and to long.

I really like JC Penney, always have..... bought many suits and other clothing there over years!! Sad to see condition of store in the mall. They have done the most to spread out merch to ensure space is filled. Staff is very light in numbers, but have great customer service. Still my go to when shopping in a box!

Very happy with the pre teen clothing selection. I was able to find a bunch of tops, bottoms, and dresses for my 12 year old.

I love Jcpenney!! But this particular store didnt have enough clothes/stuff to see.I was looking for pants for my son, couldnt find anything, no one that works at the store was around to ask for help.So disappointing.

Good on hand selection of sizes. Store was fairly busy but they forced everyone out at 7 pm - seems ridiculous.

Great place for deals on baby and toddler clothes and other stuff. You can pretty much always find deals.

It is occasionally very hard to find someone to check you out, however in the jewelry section there is usually this amazing employee named Joe. He is polite, friendly, and hard working. JCPenney must be very lucky to have such a good worker. He deserves to be recognized. I can never find anyone else in JCPenney who will happily help with a smile on their face.

I forgot how much I liked shopping at JCPenney. The East Towne JCPenney store has a great Mens department, with an extensive selection of suits, coats, pants for the middle income shopper. Also picked up adorable childrens clothes as gifts, all on sale! If you havent been back, now is the time to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised!

Sizes were missing of shirts I could see myself wearing/combining, as in layered look... If one has EVER worked in clothing retail, as I did ages ago, the look of displays with clothing in disarray would cause a bit of angst; I found myself folding clothes Id seen undone.... Everyone should have to work clothing retail for about 6 months to a year, including during the holidays. Folding and keeping tables neat and eye-catching will never leave you....

Found what I went there for. Shorts. I was even able to try them on. That was a bonus as most places have fitting rooms closed.

If the first clerk cant help you and says they dont carry something, the second is better but the third is a saint. She walked all the way across the store and brought us back exactly what we needed. She was awesome. This review is one less than 5 stars because of the first clerk that was completely uninterested in helping us.

Lack of customer service

The place is grimy, sure. But its a good value if you have their card. The online selection is better than the store. They really need a remodel or at least a good deep cleaning.

Forgot to take pictures of the store or what I bought but let me tell you this. We saved money! Spent $90 and saved $700. Wowza!!

You have to commit hours to shopping here. It is very pleasant in the store, and the staff is very helpful and courteous. Half the escalator is not operating! There may be a considerable wait to check out, because there dont seem to be staff dedicated to registers. They are helping customers find stuff, so you have to go find one sometimes. That is a good thing, but can slow the process. If you are in a hurry, try WM.

Awesome Penneys. There is usually some hidden gems in their clearance section. And their clearance section is awesome. $30 button-ups for $4-$7 sometimes. Rest of their selection is up to par with the other department stores, but usually the price is better at Penneys. The associates at the counter are also great. The older women that assisted me had a smile, and was cheerful. Great experience. Love this place!

I’m leaving a an review as an EX-EMPLOYEE, this past summer I worked there I thought the job was gonna be a good job at first things were really good but then the longer I stayed there I felt like I wasn’t appreciated or cared for at all as an employee. Also everything is so disorganized and the managers don’t communicate well with their employees or with each other.

The store was unorganized. We were looking for mens jeans and slacks items were not organized by size, items were on the wrong size hangers. No assistance from help who were standing around. Why arent workers organizing things when business is slow. Also looked at costume jewelry..weve seen better at the dollar store.

On this particular visit, I thought my cashier was a little bit rude, I dont think she felt like being there that day. But for the most part I do like coming here. They have a wider selection of girls clothing, particularly plus-size, which is hard to find in girls clothes.

Walked around numerous times trying to find sales associate to make a purchase. When I finally found one returning to the jewelry counter she was a bit on the snarky side pointing all the way to the other end of the building saying someone is always at that register in answer to my could not find someone at a register statement. Dont go here on your lunch break if you want to pick something up quickly.

A great clothing store chain! They have clothing available for everyone here. Aside clothing they sell household goods and bedding too. They have 2 whole floors of goods layed out in a nice organized matter. I have been getting things here since the late 90s. I like to go when they have sales. They have good bargains here!

Large department store with two levels. Great selection in sizes and colors, as well as items in general. Prices are high, so I would recommend choosing somewhere else where you can get the same items for less (try Kohls).

Ok seemed pretty clean. Not very well stocked for shoes in different sizes and widths. And there was a buy one get one size next to a pair of shoes that clearly was placed by a employee but wasnt for those shoes. So they should have took the sign down but after I said something they left it up.

Blouse 5 of the same style were on the 50 percent off rack. Rang up at regular price so told clerk it was on 50 percent off rack. Supervisor looked and said no on wrong rack so her and I went to look and indeed all were on 50 percent off rack. She said JC Penney always puts on wrong rack and still full price even though all the blouses of that style were on discount. Felt like she was belittling me as a customer. Stood up to her and insisted I receive the sale price.

Prices were decent. Shipping not so much. I decided to do ship to store and it took almost two weeks for my items to arrive. Rhey have pick up in an obscure corner on the second floor. This means I had to wander around a semi deserted store to find where my merchandise was. Not a good experience.

I quite like this store. Went in today & easily found what I was looking for. Store was clean & it took less than 2 min for an associate to offer to ring me up. Got exactly what I wanted & was outta there within 15 min of entry. Thats my kind of shopping!

Went in here for the new Sephora store inside. I think its the size of a normal Sephora store, they had everything I was looking for. Very appreciated so that I dont have to drive all the way across town to West Towne when I need something.
