Took my Mac in for charging issues and friendly staff took it apart and ended up determining that it was a charger issue but did not charge me at all for the diagnostic service. Graphite wanted me to pay $100 just to look at my laptop and I would have to wait 10 days until it could even get repaired. Definitely will go back if I have any other issues.

Went in today looking for a hard to find piece for a circuit board. They had it and hooked me up! Now I can use my recording gear again. Great shop! Would definitely recommend and use them again!

I bought a refurbished laptop set-up for teleworking from REs Sherman Ave location. Id give them 10 stars if I could. I got a great set up for a very reasonable price. When I had trouble connecting my two company-owned external monitors to the new set-up, Boa, the technician I worked with, offered to have me bring them in and set them up for me. Excellent, excellent customer service. Hats off to Boa and RE. I highly recommend them and will definitely be using them in the future.

My search for a reasonably priced refurbished monitor with odd specificity ended here, with their broad inventory and helpful staff. Will look here first when next in need of refurbished computer gear.

Nate fixed my PC, and it was not a simple problem (water cooling system, hoses and liquids were involved...a job for the professionals). He was very communicative, easy to work with, and transparent about everything.The cost was very fair, the service was perfection. I wish all companies were this easy to work with. Nate was wonderful when I was looking for a used laptop. His prices are unbeatable, and when I needed a part replaced, he did so quickly, no questions asked. Plus hes got a great sense of humor. Id definitely buy anything I need in the future from him and have referred lots of friends/acquaintances to him.

I went in with a major problem, my laptop was dead and my data was still on it. Within an hour he got everything transferred, the next day I walked out with a working machine that had all my data on it. The price was very reasonable and it was a 7 minute bike ride from campus. Data recovered back to work on my research.Update: Win 7 license lost will be downgrading to Windows XP, oh well, at least I got my data back for a fair price.

Went to this place because of the high ratings, and I was definitely not disappointed. I brought in a Samsung laptop for a charging port repair which ended up being a bigger issue. Nate didnt charge me for this work. I also brought in an HP laptop which needed an LCD repair. Always responded promptly via phone, answered all my questions, and explained everything so I could understand it. Honestly, service is beyond great and I definitely would come back here for future repairs!

Had a virus pop up on my computer and didnt want to try and remove it myself. I was able to drop it off on a Sunday and they had fixed my problem by the next day. Very quick service and very reasonable rates. I will definitely visit them again for any future computer issues.

We have visited Remachines 3 times for totally different issues and been so impressed. The prices are incredibly reasonable. This latest time I came in with a laptop problem, the guys stopped what they were doing to see if they could fix it on the spot. Turned out to be more complicated, but they called me the same day to let me know it was ready. Cant recommend them enough.

Nate was very helpful to us as we tried to replace the screen on an Acer netbook. Was able to take a look (free of charge) and tell us that the replacement screen was defective, then was reasonably priced--and super fast, fixed while I waited!--as he installed the replacement for the replacement. Were very excited to have a knowledgeable/affordable computer repair shop so close by; definitely takes the sting out of those awful times when you realize youve got a PC prob that you cant fix yourself. Nate is wonderful. Recently an inexperienced friend was a bit too enthusiastic with cleaning the screen and keyboard of a PC. When a black mark appeared on the screen, I called Nate to arrange a time to meet. Nate gave me a meeting time and was awaiting my arrival. He immediately took care of my computer. Additionally, I had two older PC machines that I wanted to donate, but wanted the drives cleaned/cleared before I donated them. Nate took care of the machines right away and told me he could also take care of the donation. What more could I ask for? When my computer crashed because of a coffee spill, I took my sisters advice to go to Remachines. Bob took a thorough look at my computer, and explained to me what was wrong with it and what the next steps to fixing it could be. I am definitely going back to Remachines when it comes to getting my old data onto a new computer. They were very helpful, even offering me suggestions on new computers! These guys are great!My Macbook Pro laptop died in late November this year while I was in Italy. I emailed a bunch of Madison computer repair places about my problem, as I was due back in the States in a few days. ReMachines was the only place to email me back. They gave me some advice via email and then helped me setup an appointment on the busy day before Thanksgiving. They looked the machine over, took it apart, and (correctly, it turns out) diagnosed the problem as a fried graphics card. I was in a crazy hurry to fix the machine (work deadline) and the holiday threw a major wrench into the situation. They researched some solutions for me and explained the options. While they were willing to rush order the part and try to fit the repair into their schedule, they advised me to go to directly to Apple because the unique configuration of my laptop required a special GPU that the manufacturer would have on hand. Even though it meant giving up business they helped me get my computer back on Saturday.They refused to take any money for the hour(s) they spent with my machine. Next computer issue I have Ill definitely be coming here. They are super friendly people to boot!!I found the downtown location very convenient. Two big thumbs up for this place!!

The Remachines staff have repeatedly gone above and beyond in the repairs and builds I have worked with them on...plus they have a great recycling plan. You should advise your friends to donate their used computer equipment to ReMachines. Plus, they have done an awesome job on data recovery jobs and thery are one of the most affordable in recovery for Madison !!

I dont know why its so difficult to find good computer repair help in Madison, but it is. When my computer was nuked in a electric surge a few years back, I took it in to a few different Mac repair places in Madison, but none were very helpful... they either said the computer was garbage or Id have to spend $900 for a replacement part. I found ReMachines at the last minute, and Nate was able to replace the part from a similar retired machine he had for only $150 bucks. Computer saved, headache gone.I have had a number computer problems over the last few years, and Nate at ReMachines has always offered helpful, affordable, and accurate work and advice. The ReMachines attitude is positive and practical, all about making lemonade out of lemons. These guys are different, and deserve your business. I have been working with Nate and Audric at Remachines for a few years. They have built several custom machines and a few off-the-shelf PCs for me and other family members. A couple problems popped up (mostly user errors) and they helped me fix them right away. Remachines has a good range of products for just about anyone (even a few Macs) and any budget.I recommended them several times without any hesitation and continue to do so now.

Just picked up my computer today and everything seems in order. They were able to replace the hard drive, reinstall the operating system and save almost all of our files. Very happy with the work!However, I wish they would have mentioned the +2% charge for use of credit/debit cards before we came in, ended up paying $15 in charges because I didnt have cash. The store front needs better signage which would benefit customers looking for the place as well as attracting new customers. The inside needs a major cleanup there are electronics thrown everywhere and the place is diiiirty. It made me second guess bringing my stuff  there. The guys all seem to know their proffession but are on different pages when conducting business. The guy who took our stuff when we first got there didnt catalogue all our items which could have ended badly for all of us. Also when I called back to see what the quote was the person on the other end of the phone seemed confused, the conversation was exactly this,Hey, I got a call about my computer a few minutes ago.Ok. (Long pause)... Caaaaan I talk to someone about it?.There appears to be very little system in place and it makes them look unorganized and less than what they are actually capable. If the owner/manage set in place some more professional business practices this place would be golden.

My Macbook Pro died in a big way while I was traveling through the area. After spending a few days taking it to the Mac store (who wouldnt fix my antique), looking at expensive new computers, and scammy refurbished computer retailers online, I found remachines. All of the reviews were so great, I figured it was worth calling.In just a few hours (from initial phone call to walking out the door of 30 Mifflin), I had a new-to-me computer at a shockingly reasonable price with all of my data restored and even an upgrade in memory. It was going to cost almost as much at some of the other places I called just to get my old hard drive taken out to use as an external--not to mention the cost of a new machine that I would need in order to use said external drive.Additionally, Nate is patient, not condescending, and clearly knowledgeable. I did not know fixing such a huge problem (while on the road no less) could be made into such a minor event.

Two years ago when I first came to Madison my laptop died. Nate and the folks at Re-machines got me set-up with a used laptop, pulled all my data off my old machine to put on the new machine and then erased the old hard drive, all for under $300.However, to my mind the best thing about ReMachines is the easy going, reasonable priced tech support they offer. When I modified the Operating System on the laptop and it wouldnt function they walked me through the re-install. When the laptops power source died they were there with a back-up that had me up and running in less than a day. When the machines DC power adapter failed after three years of use (not bad for a used laptop), I went ahead and repaired it, something that I likely wouldnt have been confident enough to attempt if I wasnt sure that ReMachines would be able to recover my data and replace it without breaking the bank if I couldnt pull it off. The capable technical support that ReMachines offers for such a reasonable price is worth worth way more than the value of my computer.

My first interaction with Remachines was for business. We have two desktop computers used as cash registers, both from Remachines. When one encountered a problem, I called the Remachines office, walked the computer over to them, and they fixed it on the spot - no charge. For comparison, I have a friend who had the exact same problem with a new computer from Best Buy, and it took WEEKS to get her machine fixed. For business, I simply could not have waited, and would have had to purchase a replacement in the mean time. Computer hardware always has a chance of failing (new or used) but when you get it from someone who stands by their work thats far less of a worry.Since then Ive bought three devices from Remachines (a laptop and to tablets) and had friends buy others. Each one came at the price you would expect to pay if you got a good deal on Craigslist, but was top quality, with no crapware or any of the problems you risk with buying hardware online.I called Remachines once for network support, and was completely satisfied with the experience. Im pretty handy with computers myself (I build my own PCs and networks, and Ive worked various kinds of tech support for years.) so I was pretty frustrated by the time I called for help. Nate came by the next day, showed me what I had missed, and had everything running smoothly in about 15 minutes. I really appreciate getting tech support from someone who knows MORE than I do rather than less!

The store was a bit hard to find, does not look like a store but Nate and his business partner are damn serious computer techs!They provide refurbished machines with 90 days warranty. Got a Powermac G5 1.8Ghz dual-core with a DVD recorder, 2 GB RAM and 120GB HD for less than $200!Definitevely the anti-Best Buy shop and a reliable source for computer hardware for those that does not need the latest generation of computer hardware!

I’d like to thank Nate and ReMachines for all their hard work! As a small business owner, my desktop is critical to my daily operation, and when it died I was really screwed.
