I have nothing but great things to say about my experience at SEE! Shawn was so incredibly helpful when it came to picking frames. He listened to my wants and my needs and came up with several incredible options for me. It was honestly hard to whittle it down! The entire process was incredibly easy and so fun!Once the glasses came back, I realized that something was wrong. The prescription I had gotten from a different eye care place was just a gross overcorrection. I wore them for several days just to make sure, but came back a week later after talking to Shawn, who assured me wed get it sorted out. He was able to squeeze me in with Dr. Nancy who re-evaluated me on the spot and was able to correct my prescription in-house! She was super kind and helpful, and Im honestly so grateful for both of them!Dont hesitate to go see them!

I absolutely recommend SEE Eyewear in Madison. I am not a fan of writing reviews for places; however, I have been a returning customer for nearly four years, and Shawn has been so fantastic, I had to write a review. Shawn is knowledgeable, professional, and has some of the best customer service in the business (may I also add, they have excellent taste when it comes to finding the best glasses for you). I have been into the store about 4 times and Shawn knew me by first name and even remembered the exact pair of glasses I purchased originally. The glasses SEE provides are high quality and durable (the only reason why I had to buy a new pair was due to the fact I lost my original pair in a lake). If you are ever in Madison, and need a high quality pair of glasses or sunglasses, go to SEE and talk to Shawn, I guarantee you wont be disappointed.

I needed to get bifocals and was hesitant. Ugh, middle age eyes are no fun. Ive always had a hard time finding frames to fit my face. Finding frames at SEE with the help of Shawn was a fabulous experience. SEE has a great selection of frames and the option to add nose pads to the frames made for a perfect fit. I’m here visiting my family and had forgotten to bring my lens cleaner and cloth. My glasses were so dirty I couldn’t see out of them. We were at Maxwell Street Days shopping. As my family shopped a booth, I saw the SEE eyewear across the street. I ran over to buy some cleaner.Sean said he saw me coming. He very politely but firmly told me I needed to hand him my glasses to be repaired. (I had my husband grab my new glasses as I was leaving Quincy and heading to Madison. I’ve been wearing glasses for 20 years, and I can easily say I have never had such a thoroughly pleasant experience purchasing eyewear! Shawn is an absolute treasure. He simply could not have been more patient, knowledgeable, courteous, or honest!

I’ve been making the hour drive to SEE Eyewear and Shawn for 9+ years now. It’s the only place I’ll get my glasses. ONE: their selection in incredible! So many unique frames that are NOT mass-produced, so your frame can be as unique as you! TWO: Shawn is incredible! He’ll let you know if they’re too small/too big/maybe try THIS color/OK, you just SMILE when you put those on! I’ve never left not loving what I’ve found.And the frames LAST! I dug up some frames that had to have been close to 10 years old to get made into readers. And they’re still just such a fun frame!I can’t recommend this place enough! During COVID, make an appointment ~ they’re really doing their best to make glasses shopping safe ❤️

Wonderful establishment! Beautiful, one of a kind frames as far as the eye can see (lol) but in all seriousness this place leaves one wanting all the glasses. Service is top notch (Shawn is my go-to guy!) and I always enjoy floating around the store trying on whatever strikes me. Doctor is great as well. I’ve purchased five pairs of glasses here and I love every single one. Durable frames and the staff are always willing to help should you need any adjustments down the road. Definitely pricey, but the quality and experience is worth it.

It is no overstatement to say that all my experiences at SEE in Madison have been among my top retail experiences in my life. I have been buying my glasses here for the past 7 years and despite only coming in every other year or so Shawn always remembers me and my family. Aside from being one of the most sincere and kind people, he is also excellent at his job. The past few pairs of glasses I have bought have been the first or second pair he gave me to try. He has a gift of knowing what will look good and will tell you when something doesnt look the best. I went in today to pick up my first pair of prescription sunglasses and it was not only a joy to see Shawn and my new glasses, but to see him be just as excited about how well they turned out because of the pride he takes in his work.

My significant other and I had the BEST time picking out glasses today! We both left with two pairs and our older pairs cleaned and adjusted.The whole experience was delightful and filled with laughs, compliments, and constructive criticisms of which frames would be best for each of us.The staff was friendly and warm for an experience that can be quite nerve racking for someone like myself, picking out new frames is a big decision! This happened a few years ago now, but Ive just gotten around to writing it out. The short version is, SEE is wonderful and has an amazing group of people.I have been going to SEE for several years now as a UW student and love their selection. My first pair from them Ive had since I was a freshman, and they served me very well. However, before a study abroad program I decided to get my eyes checked, as well as a new pair of glasses for backup. The new prescription was slightly different, but I loved my old pair and continued to use both. Sometime when I returned from my year abroad I lost my newer pair and bought a replacement from SEE with the prescription from the checkup a year earlier. However, upon wearing the glasses for a week I kept getting headaches and called in to ask for help. Because my new glasses were bought within a year of my checkup, SEE arranged an appointment with the optometrist without charging me for a new appointment, and I am so grateful. Turns out because Id been wearing my old glasses with an old prescription, my eyes had acclimated to the old. They fixed my glasses without any extra charges and Im so happy! Seriously, yall are incredible! Thank you!

Ive been getting my glasses at See for the last several years because of the great styles and extraordinary personal service. That sense of being taken well care of only multiplied when I went to pick up new glasses the day after the quarantine ended. Shawn explained that he was making appointments to meet with customers one on one. Masking and sanitizing practices were intense and up to snuff. So I got to be thrilled with my new glasses AND feel safe having them fitted.

I had a great experience here. They went beyond my expectations and searched for frames that were discontinued. They didn’t have to do that. They were so sweet and caring about my needs and the frames were found in a a store in the west coast. I honestly gave up hope on finding them but they didn’t stop!!! They updated me in a prompt and professional manner. Truly amazing. I recommend this store to anyone who wants great service and amazing frames that are unique and special.

I have never had a more unprofessional and terrifying experience in any industry (and Ive been working in the food service industry for seven years). I am not (and will never be) a customer of SEE. I walked in this afternoon to ask if I could have my eyeglasses adjusted as they were too big. I was greeted with a smiling face by the man at the front desk and asked about the adjustment. He asked for my glasses and I promptly informed him that I did not purchase them from SEE but go to school in Madison. Another man rushed over and said that they could not do anything because they would be liable if something were to happen during the adjustment. That would have been a fine response, I would have thanked them and left. But instead he went on an absurd rant about Lens Crafters (not sure why, I did not purchase my glasses there) and told me that if they broke my glasses I would literally be told to go jump off a bridge. I immediately left the store with my jaw open from shock. I expect someone working in retail (optometry nonetheless) to be more professional and less outrageous when asked about a common request. I walked down the street to Warby Parker where I was treated with free, impeccable, and friendly service.

Easy to schedule an appointment, great Dr. There is some friendly staff but others who are very consistently rude and condescending. Good review because of the Dr only, which is the most important part anyway.Got a call today from them that was rude and unhelpful from the moment I answered the phone (first thing he said was who is this aggressively, when I didnt even know who was calling), and he hung up on me as I was talking at the end.

Went to this eyeglasses store today, and immediately was greeted by a sales associate who angrily told me and my friends “Absolutely no pictures!” No “welcome to the store” or “How are you doing today?” We start browsing, and I accidentally knock over a frame, because they are all placed on one side or barely standing up, balancing on one arm of the eyeglasses. Immediately the sales associate rushes over and is like “I’ve got it!” in an angry tone. Even if I had found glasses here I wanted to purchase, I wouldn’t buy them here based on the sales associate’s poor attitude alone. Don’t shop here, you won’t be treated well.

I was extremely unimpressed with the customer service at SEE. As paying customers, we were treated with disrespect and a male employee was very rude. As we were looking at the glasses, he came up to us multiple times (while helping another customer) for no other reason except to harass us, telling us if we scratch anything we have to pay for it even though we were simply looking around.On a brighter note, there was a really awesome employee who helped us buy a pair of glasses. If not for her, we would have left immediately.This male employee should be fired.

I’ve been here multiple times and the service is great. The employees are friendly and eager to help you find the best pair of frames. They’ll be honest and tell you if a pair works or doesn’t work - which might sound harsh. If you’re willing to take the well-intentioned “nope” or “uh ugh” then you’ll find a pair that’s right for you.Moreover, I’ve come in for multiple fixes - smashed frames, warped sides, etc. At every encounter they’ve quickly healed my damaged frames (free of charge).Yes, the frames are expensive. I usually stick with the Core section (often seem to be of better build and they’re cheaper). However, the frames are tough. You’ll realize it if you keep them around for several years like I have.

Went in to see if they could repair my frame, and although they werent able to, the gentleman kindly offered a solution and even taped them himself after cleaning my lenses, both of which he was not expected to do. Overall it was a very clean and welcoming environment, will be going back

I was in town to cheer on my boyfriend for his half Ironman, and carrying around his stuff. He left his glasses with me but I didnt have anything to put them in. I walked in to SEE to see if they would sell me a case. They ended up cleaning the BFs glasses and giving me a case for free. Thanks so much, you really saved me in a pinch! My new first stop for glasses when I want something fancy!Id been shopping for glasses for a few weeks both online and offline. Id already had simple/subtle/conservative glasses and moderately stylish glasses, and decided I wanted to treat myself to something more over the top. I started at the chain stores, ended up on some websites, found a few that I liked (and bought), none that I loved. At that point, Groupon read my mind (or search history) and started showing me ads for glasses. I ignored most of them, but the ad for SEE kept coming up, so eventually I clicked and took a look at their website.I noted their business model-- they only make a very small number of each custom design, so youre unlikely to EVER run into someone with the same frames. There was one frame in particular I really liked on the website, but even with the Groupon it seemed expensive, and I didnt need any more glasses. I went back to the website the next day to show my wife, and it was gone. I called the store and they said they only had one left in the entire world. I said, Im coming town to check it out.At the store they have a much wider selection of frames than the website, and a few caught my eye, but my favorite was still the the one from the website. Shawn, the manager, was incredibly helpful and possibly the most knowledgeable person Ive encountered when it comes to eyewear. His style of customer service is more terse than some-- Those dont look good on you You cant use that discount code instead of hemming and hawing or lying. I initially found it slightly offputting, then almost immediately came to appreciate it. He also was able to tell very very quickly what I liked and how to sell me on what would actually be in my best interest to buy, as opposed to just making a sale. Using the Groupon, I was able to get the frames and lenses for less than most other high end eyewear shops, and about double the cheap places.My glasses were ready in about a week and I very much appreciated that Shawn texted me rather than calling. When I went to pick them up, Tyrone was also working, and he also seemed very knowledgeable and helpful (insert Erykah Badu joke here.)I wish Id thought to use my vision insurance here, as my dollars would go further. As it stands, when my insurance allows for a new pair, I will probably start here. If I dont particularly like anything immediately, I have faith Shawn will be able to pick out something perfect.Bottom line, if you want something high fashion, quality, expensive but not overpriced, this is the place to go.

I had an exam and purchased two pair of glasses from SEE on State Street; the experience was great. From the sales floor to the examination room, the staff was pleasant and very knowledgeable. I wouldve given five stars if it were not for the horrible customer service at their headquarters. I called the 866-number multiple times and left voicemails and still havent heard back (five days later). I patched through to another department and was told that customer service is just one guy. So, if you have questions just save yourself the headache and go into the local store.

I bought a pair of glasses last spring. I love the frames, constantly get compliments on them. The lenses, not so much. I got the protective coating, however they are more scratched up than the pair of glasses I got from Target 4 years ago that I didnt purchase protective coating for (and clearly have owned ALOT longer) I tried to use only the special cleaning stuff they give you, but lets be honest, that isnt always handy when my glasses get dirty. However if you dont use the protective cleaning cloth, tissues and shirts will just smear. That also didnt happen with my Target glasses (or any other glasses Ive owned my 20 years of semi-blindness). If I ever buy glasses from See again, Ill probably just buy the frames and get lenses put in somewhere else.

The staff at SEE was incredibly helpful with my new glasses. There were tons of frames to pick from - a lot of distinctive styles, nothing boring or flimsy here. I also liked that each frame is offered in several colors so there is no disappointment when the perfect shape frame isnt the right color. Teressa shared her recommendations and opinions without being pushy, which really helped me feel comfortable.I had a prescription from another optometrist, so I cant comment on their exams. But Sean really made sure I was satisfied with the fit before I left - again, very patient with how picky I am. Overall, I loved the selection and I was floored by the service. I think the cost of the product was comparable to the mall optometrists - sure, you could find cheaper glasses, but you wouldnt get the quality and selection you find at SEE. The service is the icing on the cake. Thanks, SEE!

Sean and Matt were extremely helpful and nice throughout my glassware choosing ceremony that took almost an hour lol. Sean was exceptionally amazing and i like how they kept their distance so I could choose my pair of glasses without feeling that i’m interpreting their perfectly organized shelves. Afterwards, Sean sat with me and we talked through the trouble of calling my previous eye examiner to pull out my eye prescription. I loved how nice he was and Matt was so sweet as well. Overall, this is a great place to get your pair of glasses. String service and amazing selection of eyewear in the entire Dane county area!

Was very surprised to see such high reviews when I googled this place. The staff is only nice to you if you are buying glasses, otherwise they are extremely rude.So, for example, if you went there to get your prescription checked, they would be pretty rude to you if that was all you wanted.Also WARNING do not mention the name Warby Parker because they will blow a gasket. Along with that, they will not fix warby parker glasses lol.
