What a neat building and fun little store. Prices were ok for a convenience store. Deli seemed nice, though I just stopped in for something to drink during a walk.

Thanks for making these changes!Unsafe COVID practices. :( Ill begin by saying that I LOVE Pinkus and have for over a decade. Great sandwiches and the staff is ALWAYS very friendly. But I dont feel safe going there anymore. Ive visited several times since COVID-19 began and am surprised that not all employees (and very few customers) wear masks in such a tiny, unventilated space. This is the top way to prevent transmission, particularly in this student neighborhood where cases are spiking. Today the person who made my sandwich was wearing their mask improperly (nose exposed), wiped their gloved hands on their shirt several times while making the sandwich, and then another employee began stocking meat in the food prep area without a mask or gloves. It just wasnt safe. I dont think Ill go back until cases begin to decline in the county again. If youre higher-risk like me, Id recommend going somewhere else for a while... :(

Excellent deli with breakfast and lunch sandwiches/specials. Great spot for a quick snack or beer run. Cant recommend this place enough.

The store around the corner a bit more towards the capitol on E Mifflin and Hancock (I think its Market Basket) has a better selection and will actually care about you as a customer. I purchased something behind the counter at Pinkus and was given the wrong item by the clerk. When I tried to return it, I was told a tab was off (eve though the product was sealed) and they wouldnt take it back, give it store credit, or anything. I wont be shopping there anymore. At Market Basket they have a better beer selection and even a pad so you can request items you want. They will treat you better there.

The garlic hummus deli sandwhich with the sub sauce definately worth the trip....favorite sandwhich there

This is the BEST deli ever!!!! Super good, quality food. Exceptional service. Now my favorite place in Madison for lunch!

Twice now I have lived very close to Pinkus,and Im always glad that my corner store is this one. Good selection of beer and food and stuff, and the clerks are always so lively and friendly that they cheer me up just by going in there. I would have given another star but some items are a bit overpriced.

Really cute exterior, which was/is recently painted to keep it looking sharp. Perfect location for people who work near the Capitol and want a non fried lunch from a food truck. Great selection too!

I cant count how many otherwise sober nights pinkus has saved me from. Love it! Sandwiches and pastas are also prepared fresh every day and are really good!

This place does have my favorite subs in the city. Its nice to have a local delicatessin that isnt another chain place. Along with subs, they also have snacks, sodas, chips, beer, grill accessories, or anything else you would need.

Convenient hours, decent selection of energy drinks, and a friendly cashier. Watch out for the intersection though, as this market is on a weird corner that confuses some drivers.

The store is fine but more than once Ive come by a few minutes before closing and the door is already locked and Im ignored by whoever is inside. I dont plan on coming by at 10:55 but if you close at 11:00 and I just want to purchase one thing before I get home its very frustrating.

So convenient, always well stocked shelves, very clean, and the kids who work there are always attentive and helpful! Love my pinkus!

The owner, a middle aged foreigner, was abusive and authoritarian, condescending and controlling. He kept trying to dominate me and silence me by interrupting me and talking OVER me the way abusive and authoritarian men do the world over. I will NOT EVER shop there again !

Convenient for quick stops, but too expensive for everyday shopping. The day-old sandwich rolls are a great deal.

Food is good.

Not many of this type of neighborhood corner stores left. Pinkus has pretty much everything you would need from a corner store and the deli sandwiches are fantastic.

Disappointing. Madisons liquor laws are restrictive, sure, but closing alcohol purchases clearly before the designated time (9pm) is ridiculous. Too bad the guy at the cash register was a jerk, too.
