Always packed with lots of people. We get steak for our tacos, and the kids love going in this store to get candy and different stuff that we wouldn’t normally have at woodmans! Thank you for always being so welcoming..

This store is a joke. Their butcher shop would provide you with services as they please. If they already cleaned up their slicer, they wont slice anything for you, they simply will throw some BS on you about it. I has had this bad experience multiple times at Santa Maria Groceries but enough is enough. There is no management, so figure their customer service.

Great place for fresh fruits and vegetables

Highly recommend shopping here if you want fresh meat, fruits, etc. They have a big selection of groceries, candy and fun mexican store finds. Since the last time I was here they have remodeled so many things making the store feel newer and welcoming, staff is great!! Tamales and Carnitas here on the weekends are also a major plus

Lots of hard to find items that my usual grocery store lacks. The butcher shop makes the best mexican chorizo in Madison. Not to be confused with spanish chorizo which is totally different. Thats why I give them 5 stars.

I enjoy the selection of Hispanic grocery items offered here. We picked up dried chiles and corn husks for tamales, and I found hibiscus tea! Of course we couldnt leave without getting some candy!

Delicious marinated meat, queso fresco and some goodies youll have a hard time finding at a conventional grocery. Bring freshly made salsa or tamales home! Very good prices.

Great, small and jam packed with Latin goodies. Home made tamales, barbacoa, guacamole and salsa on Saturday. A little bit like shopping in a market in Mexico.

Fruit and vegetables are not fresh

Dirty place, fruit and vegetables most of them in bad shape. Way too many things all over, making it very hard to walk. And the most disturbing thing is that they always charge more that what you purchase..SO BE CAREFUL WHEN YOUR BUY ON HERE. CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE YOU WALK OUT OF THIS PLACES

I can find good latin products and I like because it is the only place in Madison where I can find ready papayas. The only thing why I give 4 starts instead of 5 is because the place smells a little bad every time that I visite... like if something is rotting.

Honesty pretty bad price and produce wise. Meat selection and Mexican grocery was an ok selection. But there was not anything basic that wasn’t cheaper elsewhere and not a single produce item was fresh. Disappointment of a Mexican market. Went in hoping cheaper things as per usual of Mexican grocery stores was sorely disappointed

I am sad and disappointed. My family and I have been shopping at Santa Maria for several years now (approximately once every two weeks or so) and were happy that the cleanliness and organization improved. They are closer to us than other options, have friendly staff, and the items that we are looking for. But given their non-compliance with Covid mask guidelines, we will not be returning, ever. The current times are no joke and my familys health and well-being, as well as those of the community, are important. I guess they dont think so?Im sad. My family has been buying food at the Santa Maria store for a few years (like every two weeks or so). We were happy when the refrigerators were changed and fixed / cleaned. This store is closer than others, there are friendly workers, and there is the food we are looking for. But they did not wear masks in the correct way as the Dane County health department said and as necessary to maintain the health of the community. That is why my family and I are not going back, ever. Covid is not a joke and the health of my family, also the community, is important. How the workers behaved in the store, I dont think this matters.
