Let me start by saying this is the third time we’ve use Mad City so that should tell you something. The first time was 20 years ago so that says even more. These guys are fast, thorough, careful, polite and always on time. Their prices are fair and they give a discount for repeat business. Face it, moving is a pain in the a$$ but Mad City makes it tolerable. They put everything where we wanted including about 25 boxes making sure all labels face out. Heavy tool boxes, no problem. Try them and you won’t be sorry.

We moved from a house to an apartment with 2 stops. The crew were simply great. They efficiently handled all of our furniture including a piano with great care and professionalism.

I used Mad City for a short (less than a mile) move in Madison. I had to store everything for three days between moving out and moving in. Mad City let me leave everything on their truck. I saved a lot of money compared to movers who wanted to charge me to unload and reload the truck.

We had a great experience with Max City Movers. The two men hustled, worked hard, and were careful with our items. I kept encouraging them to take a break but they kept going on our all day job. We moved our business and had many large shelving units. They were able to move the units complete so we didn’t have to disassemble and assemble again. They saved us a lot of time and expense. I had to remove a dead refrigerator from my basement. Narrow stairs, low clearance headroom, heavy and bulky with delicate cabinetry on both sides - you know why I didn’t attempt the move! Mad City came on time, worked carefully to remove the above and left without leaving single scratch In my new kitchen. Recently, I had them over to just move one heavy piece of workout equipment, and I am so glad they did! I knew from the second I spoke and booked with Brenda the DAY before I needed to move that this company had their customers best interests in mind. I am a graduate student so my current financial situation is, well, less than optimal right now. However, without friends and family to assist (understandable, were in the middle of a pandemic people) I NEEDED professional movers. Brenda was so friendly and accommodating when I noted my timeline and financial needs and ensured me from the beginning that they will work with me in whatever ways I needed. A day later, 3 strong, friendly, and overall wonderful guys showed up on time - and went straight to work. I am not positive on the spellings, but their names are Cedric, Jay, and Sam and they worked their tails off in order to keep me in budget. They handled my furniture with care, helped me break down items, and moved with intent - all while holding conversations with me and not complaining at all. Having the Mad City Moving team assist in my move, while notably putting their own health at risk, was such a blessing. I recommend this company, especially Brenda and the guys, to anybody you needs help with their move and wants to be treated like a human in the process. The movers we had from Mad City Movers were excellent. Julius and Lucas were very professional and pleasant. They are very hard workers and didn’t waste any time. They really hustled the whole time they moved us they were very careful with our furniture and boxes. They covered all the furniture in blankets and then were super careful not to damage our house while moving things in and out. I couldn’t have asked for more conscientious and hard working professionals. I highly recommend Mad City Movers. We are totally satisfied and there were no extra add ones or time added. Movers were on time, quick & efficient, and moved everything to its place without any damage. Quite a feat considering that I had them move a 200+ lb solid mahogany cabinet up two flights of stairs! They wrap furniture up in protective wrapping before putting it into the truck, then remove it once the item has been placed in the home.

We hired Mad City during Covid-19 and expected them to provide professional service to our dismay they were everything but that. We had a three man crew and they were irritated and rude from the beginning. One was professional but one of them also smelled of alcohol. I called and informed Brenda of the events that transpired and she said she knew immediately who smelled of alcohol. As a business owner how could you possibly know that someone has an alcohol problem and send them to do a driving job. On top of that one her employees Randy began arguing with my husband over his mathematical error as he tried to charge us for 5 and a 1/2 hours when it was only 4 and a 1/2 hours. When my husband pointed it out Randy became irate and began screaming in front of my 15 month old. I told Brenda about all of this before writing a review hoping that she would empathize instead she became combative and argumentative with me. Do not hire them they do not value their customers. They also damaged several items with scratches, put the boxes in the wrong room and dropped our couch. Despite tipping them each $20 at the start of the move we still received horrible service.

They were amazing starting from getting a quote through the entire move! Very prompt, professional, and courteous to us and our stuff.

The team they sent was very efficient and quick. It was only after they left when we noticed our bed was not sitting correctly. They had pulled the bed rails from the frame ripping them from the screws that were holding them. They did not reattach them and just placed the mattress on top causing the bed to collapse.

We could not have been more pleased with our experience with Mad City Movers. From start to finish the experience was exceptional! Brandi and Brenda provided professional, courteous, and prompt assistance in scheduling the move and organizing us for our belongings to go to 3 different locations. Working for a large school district, I’m often asked for recommendations on movers. I simply show people the pictures of my property that was damaged beyond repair and let them make their own choice. They NEVER choose Mad City Movers after viewing the pictures and hearing the details of my experience.Not only were many expensive items broken, but they refused to stand behind anything except one chair that they repaired.Most broken items were hidden and pieced together to look like they were fine only to pick up an item to move it and have it fall apart. In one case a marble table top was “lost” and when I called to ask if it had been found I was told very matter-of-factly “it was broken and discarded of” They refused to replace the matching nightstand tops because “they are too expensive “There were items brought to my new home that were not even mine. When I told them the items did not belong to me they first asked me if I was sure and when I confirmed that yes I am sure, they were thrown back into the truck rendering them likely useless.I would strongly advise you to keep shopping if you are considering using this mover.

Mad city movers made the moving experience actually enjoyable. They arrived at 8:15 in the morning and they worked for 4 hours steady. They were smiling, courteous, well mannered and made great eye contact. They were running up-and-down the stairs as they moved all of my furniture into my home. It was a Friday, they were a man short and so the owner showed up to help for a while. He left and 2 other gentleman joined the team. The bill was $300 less than the estimate. I couldnt be more happier. It was such a wonderful experience that I was moved to tears.

Best choice we made! We have always moved all of our things ourselves. I cant believe we spent so many years doing that when there are people who can do this so efficiently and quickly. I was impressed from the moment I started filling out the online inventory. The phone call confirmed that we were dealing with professionals. I was nervous that our estimate would change once we had the in-home estimate performed. It didnt. That sold me. Its one thing to get a great estimate, and its another entirely to have the company live up to it, and leave your homes and possessions in great condition. This company worked with to flexibly move things for me when snow or cols had us having to cancel a move day. Further, in this 1,100 mile move they used wrap and Penske blankets and all of m ybelongings traveled without damage. The couple heavy items moving to another location weredone with good cheer. I can not give any higher praise. This is one reasonI have used them for one move and plan on using them for others to help a friend still local to Madison.

We had a last minute of a midsized house. We were worried that we only had the truck for 6 hours and had a lot to move and a dump run to discard furniture we werent moving.The truck got there and they were FAST!We ended up done 45 minutes early even though we had some last minute inventory additions and effectively filled the truck twice.Only warning I would give is that if you are doing a move of any size, skip the online estimate and just call directly. Once youre talking with them, everything makes more sense.I will absolutely call them again the next time I move.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THIS COMPANY! I was expecting a freight delivery of a dining table. The day before I got a voicemail stating that they needed to reschedule, which wasn’t a big deal. I called them back to confirm reschedule and they told me they were 30 minutes from my residence. Mind you I was under the impression they were rescheduling so I was not in the area which I calmly informed them of. I am a regional manager for a fast food chain, as a result I was at one of my stores in the La Crosse area. I asked to speak with a supervisor and got Brenda(?) she was one of the most unprofessional people I hope I never have to deal with again. She began berating me over the phone after I explained the situation told me it was my fault that they were out of $100 and they would not release it until they were paid for redelivery. This company does not put its customers first. As soon as I told her I was going to write a review about this she began to scream at me in which I said you are yelling so I’m going to disconnect this call. She attempted to call back which I did not answer.

I hired mad city movers . I needed to be moved on a specific date because the floors were being done the next day. On the day I contracted them to arrive they called and said they were very sorry but couldnt make that day due to unforeseen circumstances. When I told the manager I was not happy she said she fit me in to the schedule last minuite. I had scheduled ahead several days previously.They told me they could come Monday or Tuesday of the following week. Or I could hire someone else. I had no other choice then to call and find another company. Luckily 2 men and a truck were able to fit me in early the next morning and work quickly so the floors could be done. By the way they were $300 less than Mad City Movers. Buyer Beware!!!

We used Mad City Movers for our recent move (March 2019). Couldnt be happier!!It was a difficult move (lots of heavy furniture, 2 king-sized beds, heavy and fragile audio equipment). We were moving from a single-story apartment unit to a 3-story 110 year old house. That means steep and difficult stairs. about 85% of our belongings were going up to the attic because of an ongoing remodel project. James and Mike did an awesome job!! They were efficent but gentle with our belongings, they had a great positive attitude, they moved everything to the exact locations in the house that we wanted and everything is in great condition. This company is excellent. The two guys that moved me were incredible. They literally sprinted in and out of where I was moving from and where I moved to. It was raining during most of the move. They covered floors in both places and wrapped all my furniture and anything I was concerned about being wet. It was delivered in perfect condition. Both places remained clean while moving out and in. I dont think they could possibly have done the whole thing any faster than they did. I highly recommend them.

Weve moved three times in the last 4 years. The three guys that came and did our move were the most professional, in-shape (it matters), and courteous. We had a 5 week old and my wife had to frequently take up a room for 30-60 min for breastfeeding. The guys gave her the space and didnt pressure her at all. They also realized the babys room would need to be packed last and unpacked first. We had a lot of stuff but they still managed to finish in 5 hours. Far and away better than any of the previous moving companies. Hopefully we wont have to move again for 20+ years, but we will be recommending this company to our friends!

WORTH EVERY PENNY! I started our move with a competitor who was unable to complete my move and left me in a horrible position!MAD CITY MOVING fit us in very quickly! The scheduling, communication, follow up and documentation was excellent!! The team that showed up was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and professional. They took FAR MORE care with our belongings than I ever expected.I am more than pleased with their whole team. You can bet I will only need to make one call in the future!

This was my first time using Mad City Moving and it most definitely wont be the last. Both men were very friendly and very efficient. The bill even came out LESS than I was quoted! Highly recommended!!!

We hired Mad City Moving in June, 2015. We were EXTREMELY impressed. The two man team arrived on time. They were super courteous, friendly and handled all of our items with care. We were impressed with how quick they were too. Since theyre paid by the hour, we figured they may end up taking their time with the move, but the guys were RUNNING up the stairs between loads (and this was with 3rd floor apartments at both locations) and finished early. Their estimate was half the price of some of the other moving companies in the area and they even ended up charging LESS than the estimate. We would use them again in a heartbeat and we are recommending them to everyone we know.
