This place is a superior to any bike shop. Got great deals and assistance on the floor when we first purchased our bikes. Any type of adjustments were done as soon as possible and sometimes on the spot if they didnt have a backlog. Have done a fantastic job educating my kids on how to buy a where to find great bike rides and how to maintain their bikes. Even built an emergency kit for my kid who does a lot of off-roading now which was totally unnecessary they went above and beyond. They are all great but Josh and Ben are always theyre making things happen. You cant go wrong with this place

The employees at A1 cycling are simply the best. In 2018, I started commuting to work via bicycle and needed an entry level road bike, and Ben at A1 sold me my very first one. Ben educated me on all of the nuances on the bike, large and small, and even took the time out to explain to me about the importance of cadence matching whilst road biking vice simply mashing and thrusting the pedals. Ben is an excellent mechanic and bears no qualms in ensuring that the customer is satisfied. He is very attentive and greets his customers upon entering the store. He treats A1 as if it were his home and does his best to welcome everyone in the most inclusive way possible.As I progressed in skill, I had to have a custom wheel built, and Colin did more than an amazing job in explaining to me why I needed a custom wheel (I kept blowing spokes) and the importance of having a bike fit, and what a difference the wheel and the fit made! His recommendations to bike upgrades were well worth the investment - the rides are more comfortable now, and certain parts of my body no longer ache and hurt as they once did.I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Need tires and brakes, took care of it all while I waited. Bike was repaired well when I couldnt find another store to handle it in less than a week or two. Would continue to come to them, thanks again.

I visited the Manassas location 10/11 hoping to get some immediate help with my sons bike that I assembled myself. Ben, quickly advised me that I apparently frayed his brake line on his rear brake & installed his front wheel incorrectly. I advised him that today was my sons birthday and I needed a miracle, & out of courtesy Ben made my sons bike an immediate priority. Nothing short of a great experience on my first visit to this location. Pricing is reasonable and Ben was knowledgeable and courteous. I strongly recommend this business.Thanks again guys!

I have been going to this store quite while with good people always being helpful. One day I need a new chain, I bought Sram chain brand, and I see the box seem already open and chain inside seem like used and quite dirty, but the guy there and never meet him before convinced me that the chain is brand new. Paid and went home installed the chain on my MTB, turn out was KMC brand not Sram and 2 week later that “new” chain snap an half and ruined my ride. Never again go to this place.

When someone enters your shop to make a purchase (today a bike pump, maybe tomorrow is the bike I want) and no one can bother to put their phone down to give assistance or advice, its a problem. When asked for an opinion a flippant answer of their all the same is all one worker gives me. At least the other one tells me the more expensive one seals better. But, how about you ask what type of bike I have so you know which pump has the psi levels I need?When I walked in the store was empty. No reason someone couldnt assist me for two minutes. Within the 7 minutes I spent in the store at 3 more customers walked in. All of sudden they could be bothered to put their phones down and assist other people. But at that point, I knew I would not be giving them a dime.Maybe someone else has had a better experience there. But its a no for me. Im sure other bike shops have better customer service.

This is my first bicycle and surely not my last from here. They helped my wife with her bicycle needs, and my wife referred me. The staff is super laid back, super intelligent about their products, and truly a family orientated type organization. There is a big difference between someone selling you something and someone helping you buy something. At no time did I feel pressured and they answered every question that I as a novice presented. I truly wish that all my purchases went this smoothly. I dont think 5 stars is enough.

Very rude staff! on 5/13/2020 one of the staff literally kicked the people out of the store because there were few people looking at bikes! i understand that you need to have a limited number of people in your store during these times (Covid 19) but there are many better ways to limit the number of people other than kicking people out in a disrespectful way! You should be thankful and grateful that your business is flourishing during a time where most of other businesses are struggling

I have used A1 Cycling several times over the years for maintenance on my sons and my bikes. Just went I thought they couldnt get any better, they did!! A1 provides an amazing mobile service for full maintenance on your bike. Colin was prompt with email correspondence and scheduled my visit for the next day. He was on time, fixed our bikes quickly and efficiently and my son & I were out riding the neighbor that day. Since leaving the house is limited with this viral epidemic, their mobile service is invaluable! Thanks again Colin, you have made a stressed out mom and a cooped-up 8 year old that much happier!

Terrible service, lack of knowledge in fixing a bike. I asked to lubricant my bike but the noise is still there. I bought a bike back and they stared charge me more. This place is a ripped off place, not happy with it and strongly recommend not to bring a bike there for any services .

I got a flat tire for my bike and I got to this shop,the employee replace the tube with a very short valve.when I got home, I still got a flat tire and I try to use floor pump to add air but it didn’t work cuz the valve was to short. I when back to the shop and all they did was to sell me a valve extension and now I still have flat tire.unfortunately I didn’t get a good service.

Went in today because I wanted them to look over a new bike and adjust the derailers. They were very cool and fixed it on the spot. The bike rides quieter and shifts smoother. Will definitely go back.

Tried building my daughters bike last night for her birthday today. Made it through most but couldn’t get the brakes figured out. Stopped in this morning to the shop close to home and they were the most unpleasant people I’ve met in a long time. Took the extra drive over to A1 and OH MAN!!! Ben is awesome threw the bike right up and started wrenching as soon as he knew it was her birthday!! So friendly, shop is awesome, guys are great!!! All of my business will be coming to this shop as long as I live out here!!! For such a quick experience I can already say I 110% will refer anyone to A1, Thank you so much Ben!!!

EXTREMELY RUDE!!!!! I wasn’t greeted when I walked in just looked over and then when somebody did help me they where very rude!!!! Safe to say I’ll NEVER walk in the door of this place again!!!

I was helped by a young man named Alex. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He quickly fixed my grandsons bicycle and I was on my way in no time. I will definitely bring my grandchildrens bikes here for any needed work.

I paid a visit to A-1 after meeting with horrendous customer service at another area bike retailer/shop. And I wasnt disappointed! The staff at their Manassas location is incredibly enthusiastic about cycling, which shines through in their customer service oriented approach to sales. Their pricing was competitive, and they worked hard to get us on the RIGHT bikes. Its obvious that A-1 has focused on hiring people who have a passion for all types of cycling. I never thought I would walk into a bike shop and be so impressed. The customer service here is like no other. Rod was knowledgeable and helpful. He was also very respectful of our time. There is another bike shop much closer to our house but A-1 has earned our loyalty. Thank you!

Buyer beware! I dropped off my mountain bike to have the drop seat greased and a new cable installed. They called me and told me they couldn’t get it working, and they implied because I took it apart it was my fault it would not work. I took the bike out of the store and took it apart, immediately I noticed aluminum shavings from metal grinding together which were not there when I dropped it off. I went back in the store to ask them why there were metal shavings and they acted like they didn’t see them, and they would not accept the fact that they were the ones who installed the part incorrectly and caused the metal shavings. I went home and watched a YouTube video on how to correctly install and adjust the part and 20 minutes later i got it working perfectly myself! They wrenched so hard on the part that it now looks like a young kid tried fixing it with a hammer. I will never go back there to have a bike fixed, not even a flat tire.

The guys that work here are super nice and helpful. They gave my daughters bike a check-up and even let her ride around in their back lot to make sure the seat height worked for her. Highly recommend!

Helpful and friendly..cool guys. Ive been to a lot of shops, that being said, the prices are kinda up there, especially repairs. You can tell the shop is a sorta like a corporate place. They seem to rather sell you a new bike then fix up your current one. Didnt buy anything, just browsed.

Theyve got some really nice employees that know what theyre doing. The selection is fantastic and the brands they carry are some of the best. This is a great shop to go to for help.

Very bad customer service plus Races. They didn’t help me at all.

I went to A1 because they are the only shop in the Nova area to do real mountain bike work. I was not dissapointed. Ben did a great job servicing my suspension and I9 wheels. I took my DI2 road bike in for an overhaul and turn around was a day and it was back crushing miles on the parkway.

I spent $250 getting my bike serviced at A1. Took 2 weeks to get it done after they promised it in 3 days. Simple work: new chain, 2 tires. They finally finished after two weeks. Got my bike home and headed out to ride the next day. Chain broke 20 feet out of the driveway.I will never set foot in A1 again. .

Buyer Be Ware. I dropped my bike off on a Monday and after outlining the specific problems I was having, and settling in on a price, I was told it would be ready by Wednesday. Wednesday comes and goes with no call. I call A-1 on Friday and they couldnt find my bike. After waiting 20 minutes they found my bike and said it was all done and I could come pick it up. I arrive and wait again for them to find it. Once they finally do and bring it out, it turns out they havent done anything to my bike yet. I leave it with them (My fault) to do the work and they call me 4 hours later saying its done. I come in a few days later to pick it up, I pay for it and take it in the parking lot for a test ride. I shifted my front gear one time (as this was the biggest issue I was having) and now it wont shift back into the big ring. I take my bike back inside and tell them what happened. Oh, a cable must have slipped. The technician cranked on my shifter so hard he broke it and crimped my brand-new cable housing. So now I have to pay another $88 to get a new shifter. Something I feel they should have noticed was a problem if they had tuned my bike like they were supposed to. But they rushed through it because they forgot to work on it. One week later I pick up my bike and take it home. I go on a 20 mile ride and my bike is worse off than it was before after $200+ being spent on it. A-1s business practices are deceitful and they take advantage of people that know little about bicycles. I could have done the same quality job they did without spending any money

I have been to bike shops all around the country thanks to moving pretty often. They are almost always intimidating places where only the pros are welcome. Not here! They guys (most recently, Marcus and Patrick) there are so patient, friendly, and totally helpful. They have a crazy selection of bikes. Yes, the ones you would expect, plus used bikes, bikes for kids, I even saw a dang unicycle in there! On top of all that, they made some repairs on our daughters bike while we waited. I cant recommend them enough!

Dropped by this morning, 15 min past the hours of open to find a closed shop. Goes along with my last experience here. Brought in a shock that had a broken part. They told me it was not repairable but could order me a brand new several hundred dollar replacement. I decided to pass. Ended up looking at a parts breakdown, ordering the 12 dollar part and fixed it in 2 minutes.I will not be returning to this place of business.
