I had an amazing online shopping experience with The Book & The Bean. I had a gift certificate and was having problems with the check out. I emailed them, and Karrie helped me get everything resolved quickly! The tea I had wanted was out of stock, and not only did they send me a refund with my books, but also extra tea! I would highly recommend shopping here!
Love this place! Its so welcoming and everyone I encountered was so friendly. Chicory (the resident feline) is so sweet.Try the avocado toast if you get the chance. The espresso was made perfectly as well. Will definitely make this a regular stop when I dont make coffee at home.
The atmosphere is great. Shopping in the front is fun and sitting in the open backyard surrounded by antiques was relaxing. The iced coffee with white chocolate and milk I had was delicious. My wifes iced coffee with oat milk and hazelnut was great. Prices are comparable to other shops.
Cute place. Loved the atmosphere the coffee was not great but everything else was superb.
Wonderful little place to pop in for a great cup of amazing coffee and to do a little shopping.
Wonderful people, great selection and the coffee was on point! The candles and other merchandise were all beautiful and worth every penny!
We need more places like this! It is charming, and vibrant and always with people you know sitting both inside and out, sipping excellent locally roasted coffee. I love the art, jewelry and other handmade items by local artisans and my son just loves the kids books. Carrie really makes it feel like home!
Lovely courtyard garden and delicious coffee!
I was holding a property open for a brokers tour and wanted to have some coffee along with the other refreshments I had. The Book & The Bean did not disappoint! They were very kind and had my order ready and waiting, complete with borrowing their air pot, cups and accessories. Will use them again, in a heartbeat! I even directed a few to the store for other goodies. They all loved the coffee. Thanks again guys!
Great coffee, wonderful staff.
Love it so cozy
Small and intimate, but service is slow and seating is very limited. We opted to take out drinks outside to get away from a large party that came in and made the place quite crowded. The coffee drinks are about average for an independent shop.If you want to peruse books AND have coffee, this may be your best local option. If youre just interested in the coffee and a snack, Kona Coffee (Beach House) down the street may be a better option.
Fantastic environment. Easy to get in and out of. Within an easy ride from the Trace. Street parking close by. Coffee is good and theres plenty of baked goods to choose from. Plenty of seating outside but somewhat limited inside. However, the inside is as cozy as it gets. Coffee was delicious and the shop smells great! It smells like coffee, baked goods, and an old library. Great experience!
Cost of espresso shots are shocking. I ordered a double and a quad, expecting to spend less than $10. It was $18 and some change. The beans are fresh and good but not made of gold. It was not posted clearly that EVERY SHOT IS $4.50.
A treasure for Old Mandeville. The Book & The Bean has been community focused since their first day open. Sweet owners and always looking to improve what is already a top spot! Our group is here 3-4 days/week. So happy there is now a service oriented coffee spot in OM.
Our run group loves going here every weekend. Super sweet owners and great coffee that re-charges us after our long runs! ❤️
Best coffee shop in Old Mandeville! They have catered to our needs as a large group from day 1 of opening. The Book & The Bean has met and far exceeded my expectations by providing great coffee at a reasonable price and superior customer service.
Great selection of books and shopping goodies. The locally sourced coffee is delicious, too! A great meeting places for friends and business. Highly recommend.
The Book & The Bean has a relaxing environment on the back patio!! Great selection on good reads and amazing coffee and the best customer service. This is a place you definitely need to experience yourself.
Adorable little coffee and book store. The egg nog latte was the best Ive ever had. I could sit and read there all day if I could.
Cute little coffee shop in Old Mandeville.
Charming coffee/book/gift shop in old Mandeville, housed in an inviting little cottage, watched over by Chicory, the neighborhood cat. Cozy up inside or relax outside while enjoying the best coffee or tea around. The shop features delicious locally roasted Flamjeaux coffee, as well as unique art, gifts, and food items offered by local artisans. Browse the book shelves and consider attending the weekly book club. Pleasant and efficient baristas welcome you in!
Charming, cozy spot for nick-nacks, gifts, books and really good coffee. Prices are VERY reasonable and the services is great.
Great coffee and gifts.
Went there for Santa pictures and decided to get a drink after, lady was very rude and rushed me . Won’t be back . The chai tea I got had no flavor and was disgusting .
