I have shopped here many times. I have purchased jewelry and had both watch repairs made, and replacement of stones on three diamond rings, and have had A+ top notch service. The staff was friendly, yet professional; very accommodating (even during this pandemic) and has always treated me with respect. I will continue to shop here! Best shop like it on the northshore!

I will never recommend or go back to this place. I live out of town and called them on an item I wanted to pawn. They told me sure bring it in. I got there and they told me they couldn’t take the item after telling me to bring it. On top of that the girl tried to lie her way out of it. I wouldn’t advise anyone to go here or better yet take their word on anything they tell you

Very impressed with the cleanliness, inventory, and personality of the staff at this shop. The entire experience was seamless, I was in and out in 10 minutes and will definitely return.I have never sold to a pawn shop before and wasnt sure what to expect- the woman who helped me offered exactly the price I was going to ask for, which I considered a fair deal.

I went to see what my camera would be worth. I understood I wasnt going to get what I paid for it, but I was aiming for something pretty close considering its only been used once. Guy said hed offer me $30 and I said it was worth much more. He said, Well, put it on Craigslist. I explained that attitude and rudeness wasnt the right way to go about it. He then asked what the camera retails for and I told him $399.99. From there he asked me what his profit would be if he gave me what I asking for. You run this business. If you cant buy the camera for what I want and Im not willing to accept your offer, thats fine, but dont ask me to do the math for your profit. Its your business. Not mine. Courtesy and manners go a long way as well. Might want to look into that.

I stopped in looking for a decently priced laptop and was surprised how nice the ones they had looked. I was able to get a full on 500gb Acer laptop for the price that Ive paid for my 32gb Acer chrome book. And it looked new! I will definitely check back next time I need a computers or electronics. I love this place and while I cant speak for the whole staff I have dealt with Mrs. Julie and she has always been very pleasant to talk with knowledgeable and I didnt feel at all like I was being treated as though I were being looked down on by them. We all fall on hard times and I think that is understood. I have bought from them, had work done on jewelry and took out loans. Each experience has been pleasant and I will use them again when needed.

BJ’s is my favorite pawn shop in Louisiana. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I always receive wonderful service. I always find something unique and well priced when I shop there. I definitely recommend checking them out.

I have been a customer at BJ’s for over 20 years and have had good experiences in the past. This was a place that once had a flexible layaway policy that allowed me to purchase some increadible items at great prices. However, there has been a change in management/ownership, and this is not the place it once was. The long term staff is no longer there. The new staff is rude, disrespectful and has little regard for customer service. Customer loyalty and maintaining long term relationships means nothing to these people.

Only been to Mandeville shop once, but the people there are so kind! I didnt but anything yet! They were super friendly and helpful!!

Went to have jewelry repaired. Was given a written estimate of $20 by a salesperson. When I went to pick up the repaired piece, a woman says it was $50. I showed her the estimate, she called the general manager over. He then tossed the piece on the counter in my direction, and said gruffly, its free.Horrible attitude. I have done business with BJs for over 20 years, if not more! They have always been very helpful and courteous to me! This company is in the business to make money and thats that!You cant expect to receive close to the value of what you originally paid for any item! They would be out of business! Again, they are in this business to make money, bottom line.On a rare occasion someone may have been having a bad day, but that goes with any business anywhere!:)

Went in today to get an estimate on a PS4 Pro. Got offered a price for the regular PS4. Employee didn’t know the difference between the two. Decided to leave right then and there. Would not recommend for video games.

I went into BJs today with a Canon camera lens that retails at $170. Without even looking it up, the clerk examined it and told me oh they go for 15 on ebay and hed only be able to give me 20.. I was insulted with that amount. I jotted out of that door and got $60 right up the street at American pawn. I felt my race played a factor for the simple fact Ive never seen a black BJ employee.. To that clerk, all black folks arent druggies.. some of us can spell and post reviews.

Called to inquire about a smart TV, I was transferred to a guy who asked me if I been shopping around (not sure the relevance of that) & then asked if I was an adult because I sound like an child... he then tells me he has a smart tv for 300 & hangs up in my face. Didnt tell me the size, brand or anything about the tv. Wouldnt deal here if it was the last place on earth! Rude Staff!

I went into the pawn shop with a 10 k rope chain, he rudely said this chain is fake. I told him that couldnt possibly be because I bought it from a reputable company for $100 and pawned it for $60 dollars later on. I asked for a second opinion at another rude man working there. He didnt even check my chain and two other older guys working there said that the place I got it from sold fake jewerly. I immediately exlaimed that the chain has been sauntered and they got even ruder and said well take it back and get your money back. I know that my chain is real and for them to be saying this was a complete insult to me and the place I got it from. Even worse I told the guy I will remember you for civil reasons because I asked for a card and he wouldnt give me one. He took it as an insult and told me to leave and I was appalled.Im a man of God as a devoted Christian and I wouldnt recommend my dog to this place!

Horrible false advertising about open hours. Cannot tell you our “ first” experience was not happy. The OWNER of the store told us to leave at 10:04 to come back in 5 minutes, they were running behind so we walked to another store who was OPEN for 10 min so here it is almost 20 minutes after 10 and they still were not open and gladly watched us leave after waiting 30 minutes to open. Sorry if you don’t want business then don’t OPEN.
