Amazing Threads is a terrific yarn store! Its one of my top three favorites in the Twin Cities metro area. The range of yarns is wonderful and they have the largest array of different knitting needle brands and styles that Ive seen anywhere.One thing I always enjoy about a trip to Amazing Threads is the inspiration from all the samples and examples of finished objects throughout the store. They are always beautiful, and they are clearly labelled with the pattern, pattern source, and brand/type and quantity of yarn that was used. And the service is always helpful and friendly.Great store - cant imagine anything to be improved, other than I wish it were closer to my home.

Went to find another shade of yarn needed for a pattern, but also had a couple questions regarding what I was working on. The lady I worked with, (lovely white hair!) was SO encouraging!!! I knew my knitting was a little rough looking, but she said NOTHING about that and answered my question with GREAT encouraging words. I cant tell you what that did for my confidence as a beginning/intermediate knitter! Thanks so much!!

Amazing Threads was a great place to shop. The employees were very helpful with looking for whatever your needs were. If there was something they were short on or didnt have, they were very helpful in searching with other stores to find it and notifying you when it arrives. The assortment type and the colors with the yarns were plentiful.

I had a great experience at Amazing Threads. I prefer to browse, and they let me shop uninterrupted, while still being friendly. Another customer came in, said what she wanted to make, and an employee took her straight to the yarn she needed and even helped her decide on colors. They work well with you regardless of your shopping type.In addition, I had my 5 year old daughter with me, and they were friendly and patient with her while she wandered and waited for me to shop. They even pulled up a chair so that she could watch the yarn winder.The yarn selection was plentiful, both in fiber content and colors. I look forward to stocking up for future projects here when I am in the area.

Two years ago I took the intro to knitting course here and found the instructor to be very clear, patient, and encouraging. The experience was very positive. I do not live in the area, so am not a regular, but I try to find time to stop in when I can for inspiration and various supplies. The yarns available are gorgeous and staff are always helpful. I love the discounted yarn stash upstairs. I wish prices were a bit lower, but I recognize that this is a specialty store with truly unique materials for those serious about fiber arts (as well as the beginner, as I obviously was at introduction).

I havent been in a while and normally I love this store. I was super excited to purchase some yarn to make the Ashes wrap with some of the yarn they showed on Facebook. I entered the store and several women were at the front laughing and talking (which is fine! love to see employees happy), however, no one welcomed me or asked if I needed anything. I walked around the store several times and again no one approached and asked if I was finding what I was looking for, everyone still at the front talking, so I left without purchasing anything. They were polite enough to wish me a nice day as I left, but I would have been happier if I had been able to have some guidance and help in making a purchase.

One of my favorite, Yarn Shops, closed last year, a friend told me about Amazing Threads; I like this yarn shop! The staff are very friendly and helpful in selecting patterns and yarn colors. I enjoy working with Suzanne, Angel and others. I enjoy the classes they offers, Maxine is very patient. She teaches you helpful hints, with your projects. Amazing Threads, always has the most trendy fibers and beautiful hand dyed colors. Amazing Threads, also has a wonderful select of the Atenti bags. Amazing Threads is my favorite yarn shop!

Amazing is right! Loaded with high-quality yarn in every size, shape, color, and medium (silk, alpaca, many kinds of wool, etc.), as well as patterns (including free project of the month), books, and accessories... and classes!

A few years ago the owner convinced me to take up knitting as a therapy. I took a few classes, knitted some hats, scarves and a pair of socks. My latest project is a lace shawl. Amazing Threads is just that, a shop of some of the best and threads you can find. The colors and textures are simply amazing. But to be honest, you can find all that on the net. What you cant find on the net is what I have come to rely on with every project, wisdom and service. The staff and teachers have always treated me with respect and have helped me understand the project thoroughly so I dont get in over my head. When I run into the eventual problems, they are there to help me out and say an encouraging words to keep me motivated. I highly recommend Amazing Threads to newbies and experienced knitters that I bump into. Check it out and see for yourself. Dont forget to sink your fingers into the Alpaca thread, my favorite.

I am so fortunate to have Amazing Threads as my LYS. Not only does this shop have a large variety of wonderful yarns and knitting accessories, it also offers a variety of classes and social knitting groups. I have met so many wonderful people at Amazing Threads! Bobbi and staff work hard to keep the shop filled with lots of tempting goodies and have the knowledge to back it up! If you are in the Minneapolis area, it is definitely worth a trip!

Love this store. They have held my hand while learning to knit, figuring out yarn, etc.. I tried other places and they couldnt be bothered but not Amazing Threads. I cannot thank them enough for all their assistance and patience while I am learning to knit.

Not flexible at all. everything has to come from them. Yarn shops need to get with the times in customer service. during the shop hop, they were the worst to deal with! There is ONLY ONE yarn shop in Minnesota I would highly recommend and its NOT this one!!

I have been here a dozen or more times. My customer service on various visits has ranged from lukewarm to downright rude. When I went in last month, I waited ten minutes for the person at the counter to acknowledge me, and nearly an hour for my yarn to be wound, as the person working the ball winder and swift obviously did not have a lot of experience. One of my skeins was handed back to me only partially wound and in four pieces with neither explanation nor apology. When I asked, she blamed the manufacturer (Dream in Color).I will not be returning to Amazing Threads, and will instead be giving my business to Double Ewe in Circle Pines.

First time shopper. Came in looking for a particular yarn in 5 different colors, which they didnt have (no one does!). Debbie was FANTASTIC, pulling out potential substitutions, lining them up, rearranging. Utterly fantastic customer service.

First time in a local yarn store and first time buying yarn outside of a chain craft store. Heather and Bobbie were very helpful and helped me find a yarn to fit my project and my budget!

Not so Amazing!My husband was nearly finished with his c-mas stocking when he ran out of yarn - just days before the 25th. After making a handful of calls around the metro trying to find someone who carries this particular yarn, no luck except for the internet. So he bought it on-line.After he got it in the mail it needed to be caked, so I decided to run over to amazing threads and pick up some more yarn/needles for my next project, and while Im there have them wind his yarn.I ended up purchasing $47 worth of knitting supplies from them and after the transaction I asked them if they could wind his yarn - nope! Now thats Amazing! One would think a business would do everything in its power to make sure a customer walks out the door happy, right - to keep them coming back? I walked out completely heated and actually should have returned my items. This is such a minute thing to do - and if it makes a customer happy and coming back to your business, you should do it!The Yarnery has 2 winding stations set up and they are so kind as to volunteer to do it for you.My husband barely finished his stocking in time - we ended up winding by hand. So disappointed.
