While out looking for silver for a customers photoshoot I came across this place. I was totally surprised this a place like this with such a nice selection of ice cream flavors didn’t have a sitting area. So during this crisis it’s a added benefit. I ordered a milkshake and had a brief discussion about ice cream with a guy named Mark. Very knowledgeable about ice cream, it’s history and the Village area the shop is in. He recommended a pizza shop directly across the street. So I started to consume my shake while waiting on my pizza. The pizza is obviously prepared the old Italian way and was exceptionally delicious. Back to the Milk shake which by now was totally melted. It was just as yummy as milk then when it was a shake. I can only have dairy free/soy free options and they have 2 choices. I get the mint chocolate chip. It has a coconut milk base. Its delicious. This place only accepts cash.

They dont serve home made ice cream. They only Serve Hershey Ice cream. The service is nice if you dont have preference for Fresh and hone made ice cream.

Im sorry but I didnt quite enjoy my ice choice. I have the run-raising flavor. But the server was cool.

COVID Hypocrites: today, I was asked 2x times to wait outside after waiting in line and waiting for people to exit the store. Interesting that other people entered after me and were NOT asked to leave. Also interesting that the employees are strictly enforcing masking and distancing for customers, yet only accept Cash from your hand and DO NOT wear gloves when serving ice cream. When I brought this to one particular employees attention (red curly haired young man) he condescendingly spoke over me and repeatedly told me to just get out Mind you, I was masked, distanced and paid I cash. He also had the nerve to say we all need to make sacrifices in life. Really?! I guess that does not include observing food preparation protocols while handling cash all day.

Very mediocre and substandard ice cream. If you’re going to spend this much on ice cream, go to Coldstone. At least it’s not soft serve, disguised as ice cream.

Ice cream is delicious there! Their vanilla flavor is great, tasty and creamy, it awakened my taste buds . Customer service was good too! It was my first time there and I I will be going back with my kids.

They serve Hersheys over cream which is first rate. Fast service, reasonable prices.Not much space for sitting. Mostly you go, pick up a cone, and stroll around Maplewood Village. One of lifes simple pleasures

Yummy ice cream! Milk shakes can be made w/ soft serve or any flavor of hard ice cream. Cappuccino Crunch milk shakes are my favorite... Its better than iced coffee. The prices are so cheap compared to other places. We love this place and since we moved, we still travel to Maplewood for ice cream. Going tomorrow on our way home from the shore.

Hersheys ice cream is wonderful! Friendly service. Almost no seating

You can try the flavors before you buy and the staff is nice. This is NOT homemade ice cream; However, they sell Hersheys at homemade prices. With that being said, Hersheys ice cream tastes good, but should not be sold at $2.49 per kids scoop when you can purchase a half gallon in a grocery store for less than $4. Accepted forms of payment are only cash or check. There are benches against the wall across from the ice cream bar and seating at the window with stools. The Village Ice Cream Parlor is located in the cute area of downtown Maplewood along with many other local stores like Words bookstore, restaurants, Able Bakery, Keller Williams, etc.

The employees are very friendly. Every flavor ice cream I have tried I have simply loved. They make it difficult to choose. Love, love, love their wet walnuts. I will drive to them just for the walnuts. Additionally, there are in a cozy, warm neighborhood.

Ice cream is okay. Just as okay as supermarket ice cream.

Called to order a birthday cake for my grandson. When I told mark I would be driving to Philadelphia with the cake, he did not take my order because he said the cake would not do well with a 2 hour car ride. I thanked him for his honesty.My grand kids love his ice cream cakes so I will definitely be ordering from Mark in the future.

I have gotten many cakes here but I won’t any longer. The owner has extremely bad customer service! I was blown away by how he was. I feel bad for his employees who were even trying to make the situation better.

Such a great place. The ice cream is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and patient with the kids. Prices are reasonable and they participate in community activities, like wheres waldo and have menu items named for the local schools.

Terrific, every time I come to Maplewood we go to the village Ice cream. Love the chocolate-peanut ice cream.

The service was great, but they serve Hershey ice cream...like from the carton. I guess I thought it would be a mom and pop shop because of how the pictures look, so I was disappointed 🤷🏽‍♀️
