Very disappointed in the service and offerings by The College Inn. We booked a room in July with then as we scheduled a college visit to IWU with our daughter. I originally got my confirmation for my room on July 29th and thought we were all set.When I emailed back on August 31st to see if they needed payment I received a call back the next day saying they need to cancel my reservation due to them selling their business. Apparently was told that neither the current owner (Jack Gardner) nor the new owners would honor my current reservation as they had other guest in need of the room for the very busy James Dean festival weekend. This left us without having a place to stay and most rooms in about a 30 minute radius were booked up already. We are having to stay in further away now in Huntington which I hope will be a much better experience that what may have been at the College Inn. Hopefully you dont treat all your guest like this by reserving a room only to cancel at your discretion or convenience! Will make sure to share this information on other sites as well. Never in my 52 years have I been treated in this manner with a reservation anywhere!

Very impressive. Very cozy. Very homey. I stayed 3 or 4 days but only got breakfast 2 of those days. I thought b&bs served every day(!?) There was no communication on the days I missed breakfast. The other thing treat was confusing was the bed. It was extremely high. I didnt understand the purpose for that. There was stool to help but having had 4 knee replacements/revisions it was extremely difficult to especially get into or on the bed. I told jack it was fine but when I go back I dont want to stay in that room. I liked is closeness to the door but it was way too difficult getting in and out of. Otherwise everything was wonderful.

This was our second stay. We got room #2 this time and really enjoyed it. Its right off the kitchen and had a golf theme. The adjoining bathroom was spacious and nice. Thanks, Jack, for your always kind hospitality!

The Inn melds country charm with modern comfort and convenience very nicely. I stayed at the Inn regularly for 7 months and looked forward to every visit. I found the rooms very comfortable and I appreciated the availability of the kitchen, refrigerator and coffee!! Jack is sincere and very helpful and truly will do whatever he can to make sure that you are comfortable and have everything that you need.

What a wonderful bed and breakfast! My wife and I had such a relaxing visit and great family time. Our two little ones enjoyed the dormer in room 10 because it was a perfect place for them to stay and have a little space of their own. It was tastefully appointed and we enjoyed the modern convenience mixed with old farmhouse charm. It’s in a great location and is easy to find. And Jax’s cafe made for a perfect breakfast time. Definitely staying here next time we’re in Marion.

Stayed here for my moms graduation. Although we got in late they still had the room ready. They had snacks out. The owner was really nice I really appreciated his help. The room was great and fit 4 adults very comfortably. Thank you for your cooperation. Had a great stay.

What a relaxing place! The accomodations are well decorated and comfortable. The breakfast are a healthy portion and made for those with dietary restrictions in mind . The price is perfect and below the cost of the hotels in the area. The owners are sincere and polite. No need to look anywhere else to stay.

I stayed there during my son official visit at the Indiana Wesleyan University football program. I had the most amazing experience.Jack, the owner is one of the nicest person I ever met. The place is very romantic, its not like the traditional hotel. You really feel home. Everybody is like family. Only ten rooms or ten families at the same time. You use whatever you want, fridge, kitchen, coffee, tea, cookies, refreshments are for everyone. Beside the TV in each room, there is also one available for everybody to watch together at the family room. The building I was in has a quiet, antique and romantic porch.The best of all is the breakfast. Mostly everyone in this town is Christian and trying to make an impact on you when you go back home. I will definitely go back.

Wonderful place. Quaint, clean, hospitable,....and the best breakfast EVER! (Ask Jack to make his French toast casserole with caramel glaze.) We were so happy to find some place in Marion that out ranks any hotel in the area...and is LESS expensive! It was such a nice reprive. I loved the fact that we were literally across the street from Wesleyan University. I walked over every day to watch my sons in a basketball tournament and Ive already booked our room for next year. We have stayed here for the last 5 years and have watched them grow in their success. The rooms have always been a little extra toasty and the bathrooms tiny but it’s a sweet little bed and breakfast so we didn’t mind those things. Last year our room was accidentally double booked so they had one unoccupied for the weekend so he just switched us to it, not the room we wanted but we liked it so we just rolled with it. THIS year, I booked our room waaaaay in advance back in Novemeber but I never got a confirmation. I emailed to see if my reservation had been received in December. I got an email back from a jack that stated YES my reservation had been received and I did in fact have the room booked for Jun 29 & 30 and that they would send me a more formal confirmation later but never fear the room was mine. Today we arrived to check in and our check-in slip was not on the front table. Jack came out and asked us our name and I told him what room I booked and he said the room key had already been picked up and asked for my confirmation. I showed him the email that he sent me and he said it somehow got lost in the shuffle when they switched over booking systems. So sorry, you’ll have to go find a hotel. Needless to say, I am not happy. Once I showed him my email from Decemeber he should have made it right. This business has grown a lot and we have been faithful patrons but the last two years they have been so busy that the attention to details has suffered and today I had to drag my daughter through town to search for a hotel when I thought I had one booked for the last 7 months. Not good, not good. I will never recommend this place to anyone again. So disappointed.
