Drove 2 hours to check this place out and it was well worth it. I will be coming back as often as I can.

This place is the only magic shop in the state of iowa and I recommend coming and seeing everything it has to offer as well as the proprietor. Awesome man love his shop. Just an awesome time visiting. He does slight of hand as well as other tricks so well.

A wonderful treasure trove of great information and tools for budding magicians and veterans alike. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the material that they offer in their store. Other similar stores that I have seen tend to have a fair amount of cheap gimmicks. This store tends to emphasize learning, skill building and community building among magicians. They have a professional magician/consultant on staff as well as a very personable and knowledgeable gentlemen that works the counter that refers to himself as an investor. He graciously gave 45 minutes after the store had closed to help me find a great gift by talking me through what all the best options were. Its as small place but I highly recommend checking it out.

What a magical experience for our Tiger Cub Scout den! Mr. Tim Stolba is patient, kind, and has an approachable warm demeanor that made our Scout event at the Iowa Magic Shop so much fun. He held their attention, and every scout and parent was mesmerized by his instruction (and magic, too!) and did their best to learn the tricks he was teaching us. Tim provided one-on-one instruction to each scout, lots of encouragement, and tons of positive reinforcement. After, he stayed late to allow those that wanted to buy tricks to purchase them and taught each scout one-on-one how use the trick. I recommend this for all local Tiger Scout leaders. We had a blast! For all parents, bring your children and let them discover a new passion, and shop local to support their new love of magic. You wont regret visiting the Iowa Magic Shop. Trust me!

Tim is an excellent teacher and a world class guy. He spent time with me sharing some tips when I began. Always willing to boggle your brain with something new he’s been working on. Great selection of cards and has ordered some in special for me in the past. I haven’t been in some time but I plan to return again soon! If you have any interest in Magic this should be your first stop. Even with no experience Tim will take the time to share his knowledge. Don’t expect to learn all of his secrets though! It’s been a year and a half and I still can’t figure out his “Mind Camera” card trick! I guess I need to keep working at it! Thanks Tim for being Iowa’s only and best one stop Magic Shop!

This is an amazing little shop! What a treat to have in our town. Its a great place to come a catch a few mind bending moments of magic... and a place where you can take some of the magic home with you. The wizard of this little shop of wonders has created a cozy little place to sit and peruse a book on magic, show a trick of your own or shop among the many weird and wonderful magic items in his store. A real gem.

We took our Cub Scout Den there and had a blast. He helped the boys with a requirement and then some. We had a great time learning a few tricks and watching him do a few that still have us stumped. The boys were anxious to purchase some items to take home as it is hard to find magic items locally. This business is very family friendly and highly recommend his kind, professionalism to anyone. We are grateful.

A small shop with a great personality! The shop has tricks for magicians of all ages and skill sets. The owner is skilled and willing to help teach and explain how to use the items. He is a full time magician and knows the trade as well as anyone in the midwest. A great place to spend an hour just looking around and seeing what is available.

Great shop. If Tim doesnt have, hell do his best to get it for you. Personal service is a must at Iowa Magic. Always willing to take his time and help you learn the trick if youre having a problem. Even if you dont buy he welcomes you to stop in and talk magic.

Tim the owner is great about showing how to perform a trick when purchasing as well as very upbeat & fun place to shop! This is something(magic) my son has taken an interest in & Im happy there is someplace nearby he can go to expand & learn.

Im an old school prankster. So seeing some of the old prank toys and stuff made my day. Also the guy who runs the magic shop will teach beginners how to use items for magic tricks.

Well they sell magic stuff I guess. They also teach classes sometimes.

The owner was courteous and gave me a tour. He knows his stuff, and performed a trick for me. He has a plethora of books and even has a kids/beginners section. He also has gift certificates for if you are unsure of what to buy.

This was the first time we sprung for a birthday party outside our home, but I am so happy we did! Tim Stolba & his wife Sue went WAY above and beyond for my sons birthday party. Scheduling was a breeze thanks to efficient, thorough communication. We went with Tims full package for a 50 minute show and cake/ gifts afterwards. The shop provided nearly everything we needed! We opted to bring our own cake made by a friend, but Tim also offered a deal on pizza and drinks from a popular pizza parlor nearby. He threw in several special items for the birthday boy which I thought was so incredibly generous, and provided little treats and goodie bags for the kiddos as well. The team was so very accommodating, welcoming, and fabulous with the kids. It was like working with family. Tim made sure to get the kids involved, asking for volunteers and making sure everyone got a turn. Special attention was paid to the birthday boy making him feel quite special. Several times our son exclaimed this is the best day ever! Parenting win! The magic of course was very impressive, even for the adults. Kids dont always have an hour-long attention span, but everyone was enthralled the entire time. I captured many priceless photos of the wide-eyed, astonished expressions on the kids faces! After the show, the kiddos got to check out the magic shop, and Tim spent a generous amount of time teaching those who were able to buy some tricks and props. Later, Tim & Sue took care of the party clean-up so that us parents could get rounded up. This was such a wonderful experience. I cant speak highly enough of Tim, Sue, and the shop. They have my full gratitude for such a fun birthday party! I highly recommend booking them!

The Iowa Magic Shop is a must-stop-and-shop destination for anyone who loves magic! Small, cramped, and crowded, it’s EXACTLY what a professional magic shop should be! But be warned, you’ll come for 10 minutes and stay for two hours…totally worth the trip!
