Had an emergency today and they were able to get me in ASAP. The visit went smooth, from scheduling to being seen. I highly recommend Kofos Family Eye Care ☺️
I needed a new pair of glasses, and after googling I decided to visit Kofos Family Eyecare. Dr. Kofo is identical to Mayer Domino in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and the equipment he uses are quite precise. The only 2 downs are that the selection of frames are rather limited, and the chairs in the waiting room are tearing; they seriously need new chairs for customers.Overall, I am happy with the new pair of glasses.
I had a horrible experience here. The optometrist took one look at my medical record and seeing that I am currently being treated for depression an anxiety he decided I didnt need glasses, I just need to believe in myself. He went on several long winded-rants about how God had put me in his path because I need someone to believe in myself and see how special I am and he could tell by looking at me that no one else in my life saw how special I was. I told him I actually have pretty good self esteem and I have a lot of people in my life who love and support me. He pointed at my medical conditions and insisted that I was a mess and he could tell from the look in my eyes that I didnt love myself and that I needed to do something more with my life. I again tried to explain that that I am getting treatment for my conditions and despite the chemical imbalances that make me prone to anxiety and depression, I love my life. He did not seem convinced that I could possibly be fufilled with my life as a mother and student and refused to accept that I was not the miserable broken person he kept insisting that I was. He kept insisting that I needed him as more than a optometrist. He kept putting his hands on my knees and calling me a good girl and a special girlI should have left at this point but I wanted to get through the exam because I have had a rapid change in my vision lately and wanted to make sure I didnt have any serious issues with my eyes. I told him that his words and behaviors were upsetting and after a few more attempts to convince me that I hate myself and I needed him to inspire me to fix my life he finally got on with the exam. After the exam he showed me some reading glasses which were helpful, then went back to convincing me the thing I need isnt really glasses. He offered to order me a pair, then laughed at me when I said I wanted the prescription information so I could order a pair elsewhere.I know things are difficult for everyone right now, but this was the most bizarre and uncomfortable behavior I have ever seen from any doctor. He may be a perfectly capable optometrist, but his behavior towards me was unprofessional and unacceptable and I will not be returning here.
Dr. Nick was great! He was very friendly and all around good guy. I recommend him for sure!
Dr. Kofos is friendly, professional and most importantly very competent. He is passionate about his work and deeply cares about his patients. Additionally, his staff is exceptional as well. Most definitely one the best in the business!
