Check expiration dates before you buy and double check meat that comes out of the coolers. Bought prepackaged cinnamon rolls and there was thick mold all over the bottom of the package. Went to buy a cake mix for a birthday cake and the flavor my daughter wanted was expired, every single box of it. My husband just took 2 trips because twice in a row the packaged brats he bought were moldy. Ok if youre in a pinch but make sure you check everything over THOROUGHLY!

Can get standard groceries easily and quickly. Checkout was fast. Carry locally made favorites as well such as hand and Trenary toast. Not the place for more exotic ingredients, though.

I always enjoy stopping by in my way home, it is much more comfortable to shop where there is less craziness. I love to quality of the meat and if they dont have something out I need they will go out of there way to find it for me.Lets talk about the staff, the 2 smiling faces that made me feel welcome when Lafarnos took over were Kelly and Leeann those two ladies put the smile on the store. Now thats not saying the rest of the staff is not friendly because the are, from the meat department to the deli and yes do not forget the produce department 😉. I am just glad that Tony and his family keep this home town grocery going. So if you ask me it is worth the ride no matter were you are coming from, you will not be disappointed.

Check your produce before purchasing. A lot of the things out were molded or bad.The wine selection is abysmal. Very small selection of everything.

Extremely unfriendly people work here. On my way to the register with my overpriced items and Im confronted about a mask. I tell the person Im medically exempt, he runs and cries to a manager. Manager confronts me, I say the same thing he looks at me puzzled. I ask, would you like me to shop somewhere else, he says no. He checks me out end of story. Same exact people working on my next experience, take my overpriced items to the register and this extremely rude woman snarls at me about a mask from behind her plexiglass. I say im medically exempt, the lady rudely gets on her phone and walks away from the register like I had some disease or something without even speaking to me. The same manager from a couple days ago comes and interrogates me again,. They were notified if Im going to be harassed everytime I come in there I will respectfully shop elsewhere, the manager said there was no need for that and they would respect my medical condition but I still stay away as I dont enjoy being embarrassed or targeted in front of other customers. Used to love this store when it was jacks or cherry creek market.

I often come here because of the convenient location and hours. I find that some things, like lunchmeat, lettuce and fresh bakery/deli items, are usually over-priced. Other things, like ice cream, pizza, meats, bread, dairy and soda, are pretty reasonable. They run very good sales and have a nice variety of choices.

This place has come a long ways. I dont know the owner or operator but can say he/they are working machines. I frequent the store often simply for its convenience and it never falls short. The meat selection is fantastic as is the newly updated beer/wine/liquor section and the bakery/deli is good as well. Only slight downfall is the fresh produce which lacks. No fault to the store or owners. Fresh produce is a tough sell if not shopped frequent. Great store with lots of options and competitive prices considering the location.

Its hard to shop at a local grocer when they dont have basic food items. And what they do have is drastically marked up. Its great for quick in and outs If you have random things to buy. But way to expensive to buy all your groceries here.

I always seem to get stuck checking out with the crabby old lady at the main register. I asked her for a few dollars in change, and she gave me the hardest time over it. Made me wait while she checked out one customer, and said something along the lines of “were not even supposed to make change for people.” Which is completely bs, she’s a cashier!!!! That’s what you do, make change for people!! Sometimes I just drop all my stuff and leave when I see she’s the main cashier. I’d rather drive all the way to Marquette than deal with her crabby attitude. I’d look into hiring happier cashiers if I were in charge of this business, but that’s just me....

Price gouging at its worst! Terrible customer service!Asked for 1lb of tuna salad, was given 1.19lb that cost $7.99. Got it home to find it had NO tuna at all. Also asked them if it was made with real mayonnaise or salad dressing, was told real mayonnaise, NOT, it was salad dressing.During this transaction I watched an employee showing another employee kittens on her phone, which she promptly dropped into the food, laughing about it!Their can return area is deplorably nasty.I will never shop there again.

Great lakes use to be so expensive, but the new store is convenient and priced very competitively to stores in town. Great Lakes Fresh Market is now my first stop for odds and ends and quick pickups rather than driving all the way into town.

We have shopped here since it was Jacks IGA and Cherry Creek Market. The upgrades that were made during the transition from Cherry Creek Market to Harvey Foods are very nice. The floor plan is more accessible...but the meat market has the same standards of excellence, with great deals. We will go to no other place for cudighi or most of our meats. Today we were able to get course himalayan sea salt at a great price when we struck out at Walmart and Econo Foods. I am often surprised at the great variety that is offered by this somewhat small, local, grocery store.
