Horrible experience, not recommend this location. Made an appointment, at 11: AM, for oil change and AC recharge. Dropped off the car and picked up at 6.30 PM almost closing. The car was never worked on and no one bothered to call or make things right. Lost a whole day with the car just sitting outside. I could have taken it to a more responsible place.This place looked depressing like no one wanted to work with low moral. I wouldnt trust or expect anything good from this location. It was so bad I did not even get an oil change. Got there after 530 at 630 they still had not even moved my car. The woman was vacuuming under my feet basically with a big loud dusty vacuum stirring up a big cloud of dust. I Then she ran off with her boyfriend to the back and no where to be found. This other poor guy had been there for 3 hours for a simple repair and was still there as well. Soooo awful. I got my kedys back and left. Smh. NEVER going back.
I choose Firestone for regular maintenance on my baby. I am writing this review because I ordered a tire rotation, wheel alignment, and oil change. These were three things I thought about on the drive to this location, and are now three things I dont need to worry about driving away from this location. Frank, the associate who handled me, even took the time to double check the work order.
I have determined over time that there is an issue with them not providing services requested completely or on a timely basis. I would not recommend this place.
Guys did a fast and efficient job with purchasing and installing new tires. Affordable and painless.
The only thing that kept them from getting 5 stars was 1 employee named Frank.He is condescending, rude, and has no concept of retail customer interactions. He treats you like an inconvenience rather than a paying customer.
The front desk team greets you when you enter the room, and asks how they may help you. If you made an appointment -- and if you can, you should -- theyll honor it as well as they as long as there is no prior emergency. You will tell them about the your car/why youre there. Ask, and they will let try to let you know how long it will take and how much it might cost, but that might not work depending on your car and how many others are ahead of you. The seats are 6 feet apart and there are only 5 or 6 due to covid; a TV is on the wall, and there is a water fountain. A clean bathroom is down a short hall. My experiences with them have always been good.
I went there this morning for a oil change. I understand they were busy and then they’d started working on my 10:00AM apt. I do give them two stars considering they did the oil change right. They never did my tire rotation I got home and could still tell by measuring my tires they weren’t rotated.
I want to know what kind of company screams at paying employees for inquiring about a vehicle YOU guys worked on, that wasn’t up to par. Front desk employee that worked the morning of 6/26 extremely unprofessional & misogynistic it seems to me. My mother couldn’t find any respectable male employee that works here.
DO NOT book an appointment on line. It will get confirmed and then cancelled. After the cancellation we called and set it up for a different day. We show up on Friday and they put it down for Saturday. We call to verify on Saturday and they have now moved the appointment AGAIN! Very disappointed, very unreliable!
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!Waited two hours for an inspection!! Failed inspection because of tire wear! Went 30 seconds down the road and passed in 15 minutes. Never failed an inspection on any vehicle before.

Just needed 1 tire. Arrived at appointment time 30 minutes early 8:30. Still waiting 1 hour later. I had a appointment but several other customers have arrived after me and they are already done. The tire was setting near the changer all this time. I have been a customer for years and this seems messed up.

The team at Firestone Monroe is fantastic! Everyone there is extremely pleasant and wonderful to work with. Dave is a FANTASTIC worker, he is usually who I get to speak with about my vehicles services. He and the technicians go out of their way to make sure everything is right. Dave noticed my windshield wiper tubing was broken and him and his technician ended up fixing it for me! I always look forward to bringing my vehicle in because I know it will be in good hands.

She explained to me what needed to be done with my car and did her absolute best at finding and assigning me the best discounts for the service if my car. As a leader of this branch she not only lead with her actions but also her words. I have always come to this location to have my car serviced and have always had good service but Tenikas service was IMPECCABLE. Place needs to be stripped of its State inspection certification. Took my truck in for a State inspection nearly 6 weeks ago, I knew truck was in good shape, hardly ever driven but failed because was told it needed repairs which totaled over $1,200. Put it on hold then took it to another mechanic 2 weeks later where it passed inspection no problem. The only thing I did to the truck in that 2 week time frame was put gas in the tank. Dont go to this place for State inspections.
Its a clean place a nice waiting room everybody there is friendly workers fast and not real expensive did most of the work there they get you in and get you out short length of time I have been back twice dance
Ive been a loyal customer for Firestone for about 8 years now but this location is by far the worst Ive been to.. I sent my truck for an inspection only for registrations purposes. I get a call (as they always do) suggesting I do about 600 dollars worth of work. I said very clearly I dont drive it a lot just needed it to pass inspection for registration. After walking about 1/2 mile from work to pick it up, she tells me it has failed inspection because of a faulty brake line but didnt disclose any of this before I got there. You would think as a loyal customer they would made it very clear what needed to happen for it to pass and not mention them as suggestions. I had zero issues with the breaks and it had recently been serviced. I basically had no choice but to agree for them to do around 300 dollars worth of work to get it to pass. I will not bring any of my vehicles back to this location accept for alignment which I paid for in advance. Terrible experience yet again and no accountability.
I took my truck in for state inspection, no problem. Took my car in for an oil change and there was a man who got charged for a vehicle inspection and wanted a state inspection. He was upset and the lady behind the counter grabbed a mechanic and told him to deal with the man. She didnt want to deal with him and was very unprofessional. This is where it really goes bad. A few days later my girlfriend took her 2018 car in for an oil change and to look at a tire she recently plugged. They called her saying that the car needed rear brake cylinders that both were leaking and she wouldnt be able to pass the inspection and also needed new wipers. They also told her the parts were dealer only and thats why the price was so high ($500+). There was no need for them to take off the rear tires or brake drums, theres no oil stains in the garage where she parks and after going on AutoZones website the cylinders are only $20 a piece. My girlfriend is now also saying she has a bad vibration that wasnt there before she dropped it off. I didnt think much until I read other reviews and this seams to be a norm with them.
I was beyond impressed with the level of customer service I experienced with Dave from the beginning to end, throughly explaining and showing me problems with my car and the solutions. To then find out at the end of the day he was the manager, he sealed the deal and I will definitely be back to this Firestone location for trustworthy care and excellent service! Great place for car care.
I use to love this location and have been coming here for at least 8 years but all the other reviews are accurate. No respect for your time, not honoring appointments, shoddy repairs. Even told my daughter her brake light was on because her parking brake was on. Because she put the parking brake on when she parked. In reality it was a bad sensor. I have brought my vehicle to have things looked at, they said I dont know, everything looks fine and then 6 months later the thing I thought was wrong is all of a sudden a needed repair. Very disappointed.
Worst Experience ever at fire stone of Monroe Rd Charlotte NC location, I had a nail in one of my tire and it was an easy fix only would took five mints but they said that they are very busy and they didn’t seem like that busy, Anyway nobody even came to look at the tire to see that if it’s an easy fix and they didn’t ask me to schedule an appointment or something for the next day or so, how could I even think about it going back there if they didn’t help me with an emergency situation with a really simple easy fix, I could have done it by myself but I wanted them to look at it and make sure it is all good.Never going back to any fire stone.

Wait time is always an issue even with scheduling an appointment. Prices are not fair however their professional expertise is the reason I choose Firestone. However Im considering taking my loyalty to another business due to the wait time. We all know how precious time is and four hour waiting periods for standard service is a huge disappoinment. In addition being charged for services that couldve been justified depending on the depth of maintenance is also extremely disappointing.
I dont know about the previous reviews but these guys are great! I have been to 4 different locations in Charlotte and this is by far the best. They are not only great and fixing my car issues but make great suggestions on how I can save money. They are not pushing services I dont need. By far the best experience I have ever had with an auto place!
Ive been taking my vehicles here for 10 years or so. Always check online to see if they are running coupons and save yourself a few bucks. Be sure to print it and take it with you as they are on and off whether they require you to present the coupon or just ask about it.Theyve always done decent work, though I wouldnt wait around for them. I can drop off the vehicle and pick it up later. That said, even if they are supposed to call you when its done, it rarely happens. You usually have to call them.Also, be proactive in knowing what your vehicle needs, as like most other shops, they will try [though not too much pressure] to talk you into other services.My only gripe about this place other than not calling you when the vehicle is ready is that even when you have the free rotation because you bought 4 tires, that doesnt include the two minutes it takes to realign the wheel sensors to the computer so it accurately knows which tire needs air. This is a common thing now and should be included. This nickel and dime business of such minor things is annoying, and more annoying that they dont tell you they didnt do it.This has happened a couple of times to me now. Interestingly, it was the tire mechanics at Costco who discovered what they didnt do when I stopped there for air, and even though they didnt sell me the tires, they did it for free. Next time I check out Costco tire prices.
Fantastic service and attitudes
I looked at other reviews before writing this. Stories are the same... First, Earl is professional and kind. I scheduled an appointment more than a week prior to coming due to having the day off. This appointment was the only reason I was going to leave the house today. Got there 10 minutes before my appointment and sat down. I have experienced delays to my appointment in the past but no more than about 20 minutes... Thats reasonable. That said,I am a 15 years+ loyal customer to this location in specific... Today it went 45 minutes before I asked (thinking it doesnt get much more patient than that) then was told that I might be fit in with the bigger jobs... FIT IN?! I had an appointment. I will be looking for a different location to frequent considering I pass about 3 other Firestones on the way to this one. This was the 2nd visit after one of the wheels on my wifes car was damaged during a rotation. Firestone took care of that so I came back because after all those years, I figure 1 mistake is not worth looking for a new mechanic... Next time I came (which was the last time I came) my mechanic treated me as though wed never met and passed my car to a different mechanic.I did not stay today to have my car worked on due to being disappointed about my appointment not meaning anything AND on top of that, was told after 45 minutes it would be at least an hour longer wait... Not reasonable.

The Firestone in Matthews is the best place I have ever used for car maintenance and repairs.The staff is always very helpful and I have never experienced a problem with their online service appointment scheduling.I have four cars that are maintained at the Matthews location... all of which have Firestone tires on them.I would highly recommend this company to anyone...!
Dishonest! Few months ago, I took my 2013 Nissan Altima for inspection, to my surprise, first I was told my tires needs to be replaced when I asked to fail the inspection as I wanted to install specificMichelin tires and they didnt have it. I got call in few min that my tires marginally passed. When I went to pickup the car, they charged less than $50 for side headlight, but today (Jan 2020) I learned in this car bumper, grill and several covers need to be removed therefore it would be much more expensive job. This tells me no light has been changed, no light were out the night before inspection as I checked, and I was charged for job which is not performed. I decided to let others know about my experience.Update: PR contacted me referring me to call the store as my question is how did they change the marker side bulb for $10? I am not convinced that it has been performed, so keeping the review to 1 star

Rip Off - they like to charge for unnecessary replacement. I brought car in for state inspection and they first told me it needed a new battery to pass. I then had to bring it back because they said replacing the batter will clear the emission computer and it needed at least 50 miles on it to have sufficient data. OK, that was fine even though battery was more expensive than if I did it myself. The second time, they say it now needed new wipers. However the wipers were replaced a month ago at the dealership. I did see the repair tech, when he got in, turn the wipers on and leave them on - there was no rain and he ran the wipers on a dry windshield. He continued to drive it into the bay, leaving the wipers on to damage them. Completely dishonest so they can charge another $30 for wiper blades on top of the new battery costing $165. Both times they said the car will not pass without replacement and if you say you will do it yourself, they still want to charge for the inspection and a re-inspection Watch them carefully but I would avoid this place as they like to find add on expenses.
First of all, I called and made an appointment here and they didnt make note of it. Claimed I never called. When I showed them the call on my phone, they claimed it wasnt their number. Then I called it, and they answered. Wouldve been hilarious if it hadnt been so infuriating. They were replacing a flat on my car and told me it would take an hour. It took three hours. Finally, they quoted my husband a specific price and when I picked up the car, they tried to charge me an additional $50. When I repeated the information from my husband they quickly said sure, we can do that - as if they were doing me a favor. Overall - poor service, shady pricing, and dishonest workers.
I have done most of the work on my own car for years. I went into this Firestone to have an alternator/water pump belt replaced because it exploded from my timing belt cover rubbing supposedly. This is what Firestone told me. Instead of fixing the issue myself, I decided to have Firestone replace the belt. Im really busy and I had to go back to work. I receive a call from them while Im at work and they are telling me about a ton of other things that are wrong. I go to pick up my vehicle after work and pay. I drive home lift the hood and the belt is broken again. I came back to this location to have them fix the mistake and they wanted to charge me another 400 dollars to refix and check for other things. I just take the car home and fix it myself and went back to show them a job well done and to at least get a partial refund. After a little hassle, they did refund me the full amount and Im appreciative of that. For the refund and the refund only is why Im giving them a Good Quality rating.

What a great experience! I was presently surprised by the service at this location; all the way from the staff/manager at the front desk to the technician that serviced my vehicle. I rarely write reviews but was compelled to get on here and spread the word! A+ all the way around. I will absolutely see yall again for regular maintenance.
The service is great, people are nice but they have no respect for other peoples time. I was told a tire rotation would take 1 hour. It took 2 hours made me late for work. My car just sat there for 40 mins in the parking lot, though I scheduled an appointment. I asked for an ETA, I was told another 20 mins. It took 40, and made me 45 minutes late to work. I will not be coming back.
I have been having my vans and cars serviced at this location for many years. Jim is one o the finest managers I have dealt with. The mechanics and knowledgeable and friendly to boot! I will keep going back.

This has to be one of the best looking, professional, and money hungry auto repair shop Ive been in. I went there to replace my tires and they came back with list of things that needed fixed on my truck, for example my master cylinder was leaking and needed immediate repairs. My dad is seasoned and well experienced mechanic but lives out of state and he informed me, to always ask the mechanics to show you the problem. So I asked them to show me and low and behold it magically repair it self. The leak was insignificant. they said. I would been suckered $400.00. They listed other immediate repairs but this one is memorable. Needless to say I stopped going there.Also, I suggest getting your state inspection somewhere else.Theres only one mechanic that has good customer service. But thats about it.

Stopped in to get a quote for tires and also to get some air (which was free), the people they have in the front seem very knowledgable and friendly, I was also impressed with the tech in the back he seemed very upbeat and friendly and didnt mind helping me put air in my tires outside in the freezing cold. Worse place! For oil change usually needed around 25-30 minutes. But they did it one hour!!! Just for oil change they spent ONE HOUR!!! Im sorry guys, but I can replace oil in my car in 20 minutes. Or you need change yours mechanics or they must working faster. Good luck with no happy customers.
Not sure what is going on with this place - went in for inspection - recommended hundreds of dollars worth of work including new spark plugs (after service rep. was told that my husband had replaced them recently) and new windshield wipers which my husband had just driven through rain and snow with no problems. Took car to another shop and passed inspection and no recommendation for extra work - runs like a top. Wont ever go back.

Walked in at 6:40, needing a battery. Ask guy if I could get one. He says in a snotty tone, not tonight were closed. Store closes at 7. Walk out l, go to OReilly, buy a battery, have it installed and out the door at 7 exactly. Drive back over to Firestone to let them know they lost a sale. Open sign still lit up. Ive spent way too much at Firestone over the years. They used to take care of customers. No more.
Waited for a long time to be told my tire could not be patched and needed a new wheel... kind of a bummer experience. Nice people though.
Went in for a car inspection, was told it had to be a drop off as it would take 2-3 hours to get done. Shop has approximately 8-9 bays. Went down the street to Jiffy Lube, 3 bays, in and out in 30 min. Not only that, but they referred to me as another unhappy Firestone customer. Save yourself some time, go somewhere else.
Poor customer service, made a appointment online, when I got there they claim that they do not make appointments within the last hour, but their system gave me a confirmation number, I felt like they did not care about me as a customer. Pervious service was much better, not sure what changed to make it soon bad, they need to change back, before they loose customers for good.
Had nail in tire. They fixed the puncture & checked my other tires. Prompt & courteous. Firestone is my go to place for car service.

I came in to get my tire repaired and only 2 people on duty???? 1.5 hour wait and to top it off, I bought my tires here and still have to pay. Everytime I have come here they tell me something is wrong and I need to replace. One time they told me brakes that I had just had done. Another time they told me signal light out, I went down the street and signal lights fine....

Purchased new Affinitys on sale. The date code was 13 months old, I guess thats why they are on sale. Store says not to worry covered by 36/36 replacement warranty, prorated after that. NTHSA suggests replacing tires at 10 years. Probably wont get 10 years out of tires but its nice to know the rubber is fresh. Ask to see date code. They do a lot of upselling from what I witnessed while waiting.
Ive been a customer here for a few months since moving to the area and I love this place. I couldnt understand the negative reviews either but after my last experience at this shop I can understand why. People want to blame this business or any business for things that they cannot control. I overheard a woman complaining that her tire was flat- she demanded it was all Firestones fault and she wanted them to pay for her tow bill. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely nice despite her tantrum, and he kindly told her there was a nail in her tire. The woman then went with a conspiracy theory that Firestone put the nail in her tire!! These are the people that write bad reviews. This is one of the best shops Ive been to, dont buy the stupid reviews. Give them a shot.

STAY AWAY! Two years ago I bought a set of 4 Firestone tires rated at 65,000 miles. Last week, I measured the tires at 4/32 and was shocked because the tires only had 24,000 miles on them. I bring the car into Firestone to make them aware that the tire performance was falling way short of the guarantee and to get a NC inspection. After waiting an hour, I am advised that my warranty is not valid because I only rotated the tires 2 times at their location (and twice at Jiffy Lube) and that the tire pressure was off (incidentally, they serviced the car two months ago and rotated the tires). As I hopelessly argued my case, I was advised that my rear tires failed inspection and I was quoted $212 for the same garbage tires that wore out in 2 years. They would not release my car without me paying the $23.75 failed inspection fee, so I paid up and walked out of Firestone for the last time. I proceeded to take my car down the street where my car and tires passed inspection in 10 minutes. I was advised by the inspector that my tires were well within the NC inspection law limits. This shop is a prime example on why car service shops get a bad rap and deserve it.

Had our WORST EXPERIENCE EVER with car service. We took our van into Firestone in prep for a trip the next day - oil change, tuneup and front brake work. My wife picks the van up Saturday afternoon. On the paperwork they have a note to only replace the spark plugs and brake pads - even though we never said this to them. They have another note that the spark plug wires are arcing and should be replaced - but THEY NEVER CALLED US to tell us that so we could have them changed. In Firestones mind a $190 tuneup means just replacing the spark plugs - something else they failed to point out when we made the appointment. What kind of tuneup leaves bad plug wires??? Brake work was supposed to include turning the rotors - not sure now if they did it or not. Not to worry - I could talk to their boss Monday morning - even though they were told we were LEAVING SUNDAY MORNING! Terrible communication - terrible customer service - terrible job. Stay clear of them! 1/24/15 UPDATE - We received a call from Mark White at the store apologizing for the problems with our recent visit. Mark refunded to us the plug wires and installation we had installed at another Firestone store. We appreciated his concern and gesture.

Do NOT have your car serviced here.They did my wheel alignment on a Monday and I had to have it done again Thursday by Scott Clark Honda. The steering wheel had become left off center 2 inches on straight flat roads. I called Firestone and started to explain my issue so I could justify my request for a refund when he said that it wasnt a big deal. He said that this is normal and was just something in the cars computer and they just need to put it on the rack and reset it. If he really believes this himself he is a dumb***. The Honda tech confirmed there was no such computer related to my steering wheel and its relation to my alignment. The Honda tech said Firestone didnt torque something down so the alignment was going out. He said the rear was way out of spec even though Firestone claimed it was perfect.Also, the tire pressure was different for each tire ranging from 38-40psi. Factory pressure is 32psi front and back.They replaced my metal TPMS caps with plastic.It took 2 hrs to get for tires replaced and he only spent about 15 mins on the alignment (Honda spent 1hr under the car.)Im glad Im so anal about my car. If I would have trusted them, I would have destroyed my new tires and put myself and any passengers at risk with loose alignment bits and over inflated tires.If you need work done, Scott Clark Honda can align any make car. They also cost $10 less than Firestone and when they were done, they washed the car before delivery... they have a better waiting room as well.

4.5 hours we left a car there and they cant complete an oil change or even call to let us know they cant get it done? Girl at counter extremely rude, unprofessional, used profanity at me and was uncaring that they told us it would be done by 6pm before 2pm when we dropped it off. I called at 6:20pm only to find out it had not moved out of the parking lot... wont go back, they need to make some serious changes starting with the witch at the counter who clearly should not be in a customer service position! STAY AWAY

Kept me waiting over an hour until they told me they couldnt fix my tire because I had used Chevrolet tire sealant.

Brought in my car for a flat tire. I was told it would be 20-30 min to get to the car. I walked down the street to get some food. When I came back, he told me it would be another hour. Every bay was empty and there were 5 guys standing around. I asked when my car would be looked at and he said my car was next. I said, it should be, everyones standing around doing absolutely nothing! Wont go back again. They have no idea what customer service is.
Sat for 2 hours I had no appt but 3 or 4 cars after me didnt either and the front guy kept putting drop offs with no appt ahead of me I was there for oil change and inspection he says all tech cant do everything, they can all change oil Im sure terrible service
