This place is amazing! They have mastered the art of mixing pumpkin juice with crushed beans. Who does that?! They also have some well preserved pastry relics on display from the Mesopotamia Era.

Been a supervisor at Starbucks; used to enjoy this location but the people they hired on staff have no sense of urgency nor does the supervisor on duty at 11:27 AM 09-12-2021 have any direction to give them or order to keep things align. the main important thing to have working there is sense of urgency! disappointed that I had to wait over 20 minutes for coffee. Waverly is faster than that and their drive thru line was straight down the road.

I usually find Starbucks baristas friendly, today at noon I went for a latte and was given a hot chocolate. No big deal. I let the barista, Sarah, know and tried to make light of it by saying its probably harder to hear orders with masks. She said, OK. but didnt look at me. I said, Wouldnt you think more orders are incorrect not being able to read lips? She ignored me and wouldnt look at me. So I said I was just making conversation but wasnt trying to bother her. She continued to ignore me and had an irritated look on her face. When I left I told her I hoped her day gets better. She just blew me off again. It was the rudest exchange, particularly since I was trying to be nice to her to show the mistake was OK. I know how poorly the public often treat people in service roles since my days in customer service. Disappointing experience.
Marsha and Jonas always go above and beyond to make sure I have a tremendous experience. They are excellent baristas who make delicious drinks. Marsha especially made my day today. You can see her smile and passion for making people’s day - even through her mask! This is my favorite location and I will be back!!
Waited 15 minutes for a drink. All people behind me got their drinks significantly before mine….4 people working with one person doing the work. Will not be back.
I used to love this location until now... just came in to buy drinks for me and my little brother, unfortunately I did not have a mask in my car because I had to last second use another vehicle and I assumed they would have some sitting out for you, yet they had none. I am not an anti-masker, I genuinely didn’t have one. I walked up (trying to cover my face with my shirt) and was about to ask if they had a mask I could wear before one of the employees rudely hopped on me for not having one. Before I could even say I’m sorry for not having one with me he asked me if there was any by the door and I said no I’m sorry. Not even asking if he could provide me with one, said “before you walk in this door you have to have a mask but don’t even worry about it now” with an attitude. I was so taken back by his rudeness and lack of empathy. Maybe if he would have payed more attention he would have realized there were no masks sitting out for customers. I have always taken COVID very seriously but I had no other way of getting a mask.... just thought this situation could have been handled more professionally and kindly.
Im giving 2 stars because of service and consistency. I stop here daily and there is zero consistency in the service provided by the employees. Some days its exceptional and others its horrible. Its the same with the drinks, its made one way one day and different the next. Some days its full and others its nearly a 1/3 less coffee. When you pay over $5 per drink its not to much to ask for consistency. I feel its more a problem with the management at this location, there isn obviously a failure in training. Im going to stop at a different location for a week to see if its a company problem or just this location.
I would leave a zero. But you can’tWalked in. Two people ahead of me. Place my order for a simple no customization single drink. I wait 15 minutes. Everyone after me leaves with their drink. Apparently my drink order gets lost.... 1st time visiting this location. Last time visiting. And I work basically next store so thats sad.

This is a really busy time for coffee shops and I want to preface this review with the fact that I understand that. I’m cool waiting for a bit for a coffee. However, I’m not okay with zero communication. When people that have ordered mixed drinks, not just drip coffee, 10 minutes after me are walking out the door with their coffees it doesn’t sit well. I’ve had two occasions where I’ve waited for 15-20 minutes before someone says “oh sorry, we don’t have any decaf and that’s the hold up”. I’ve walked out without a $6.60 coffee on two other occasions because it took over 25 minutes with zero communication. I really dislike writing bad reviews, however, I think this is warranted. Just communicate. It’s not that hard.
Walked in the store and was greeted and immediately followed by, can you please pull your mask over your nose. Being the cooperative person I am I said sure and pulled my mask up. I then looked at the staff and one of them had their masks below their nose as well. So I proceeded to say, your staff should do the same. She laughed it off like it was really funny and then walked away. I dont care where you stand on the mask issue but at least be consistent or hypocritical about it.
Cant hate on Starbucks they have pretty good coffee for all tastes.

The Starbucks in Matthews is one of the friendliest and efficient of the Starbucks in Matthews. Matt, the owner never ceases to amaze me with his chipper attitude and welcoming personality. The store is clean and they have done a amazing job during this pandemic of following the protocol.this Starbucks is a weekly staple in my week and because of Matt will i continue to meet friends and take my family.
I ordered online and it said 15 to 20 minutes. After 20 minutes I asked and they could not find my order. Finally found it and said it would be another 30 minute wait. Are you kidding me? For a cup of coffee! They should have made it then. But no, said I would have to wait. That would be 50 minutes for a cup of coffee. My business will go somewhere else!!!!!!

This is the worst location. plenty of times I ordered online and in person and they cannot seem to make my order correct. I know because other locations taste the same BUT this specific location. They never add what it is I want into the drink flavorless and bitter please go somewhere else and save your time.
Honestly never been treated so badly at any starbucks I was surprised. The manager I assume it was a short lady with short hair gave me the nastiest attitude and flicked me away with hand motions as if I were disturbing her for no reason. I will say everyone else is very nice but she needs to regroup herself I was already having a hard day and her rudeness made it even worse.
My first visit. My last visit. There were two customers in front of me one on break the other probably her mother they were kidding and joking so loud with the cashier that the other cashier could not hear me give my order nor could I hear her ask me questions about my order. Twice she tried to ask them to be quiet but they couldn’t even hear her. And over all the noise I ended up with the wrong order somehow paid $10 for a double shot macchiato and a piece of pumpkin bread. WTH?

I went around 1045 this morning (Saturday) and ordered 8 drinks and a sandwich. I had to laugh at the irony of them needing to block off tables and make sure everyone social distanced, buy the store was so packed, you could barely move. Probably around 20 people waiting after ordering or for mobile orders. The crew was amazing though. All working so hard and being polite and professional the entire time. Great job guys!!!! I wanted about 15 minutes, but didnt mind. They couldnt have been working harder. 🤘❤️
Always a welcoming place. Today I was surprised by a big smile and a great spirit of one of the staff, I forgot her name but she was very excited of her work. Will definitely come back ❤

Don’t order mobile at this store you’ll end up waiting longer than people that just walk in and order. I put in a mobile order at 3:10 and watched people walk in at 3:25 and get their drinks at 3:30 while I was still waiting. Pretty disorganized when it comes to making the drinks as the tickets come in. Ordered a sandwich that ended up sitting out for the almost 30mns it took to make my drink and they tried to just hand it to me, I love Starbucks, but they need to either hire more people at this location or make drinks as they get ordered, mobile or not.

This is a good Starbucks when your drink is good. My only issue is when the drink isn’t appetizing and the way they deal with that. I have had a few times where my drink foam tasted like spoiled milk and they act really annoyed. Then when they remake it and it tastes the same they are appalled that you want a refund and don’t apologize for wasting your time or making the drink bad.
I love this location and have been a regular here for about 10 years. I use to know all of the staff and this location was a part of the community. With attrition and increased business theyve lost a little of that however, with the mobile ordering I dont even spend any time in there anymore. I will encourage you to order via the app otherwise, you will wait longer than you would want.

Coffee was great, as always. The manager took care of us and I was not a big fan of his after the service. His tag read Jonas . My sister ordered our drinks online, 2 separate orders. The first order included 2 drinks and the second order had 1 drink(mine). Maybe the connection messed us up but it ordered my drink 3 times but the manager said they only got 2 orders. We went in to cancel the 2nd one But then they said they never received the 1st one. I understand how frustrating refunds or exchanges can be so we were not upset. Although, their manager was very jittery, like he was on a lot of caffeine himself. His hands were shaking a bunch, his movement just wasnt calm.. We felt rushed and got the vibe off of him that he was annoyed of the situation. Trust us, we dont enjoy inconveniences either. Its not like we were in there asking for free stuff. Its OK to raise your voice, especially with these masks on these days but it got out of hands when he was yelling you probably didnt have enough money in your account I dont know it was a little embarrassing to be called out about your money even knowing we had it. Kind of offensive honestly. We went ahead and ordered the two other drinks since it apparently didnt go through. I paid with card, he then yelled again IT DIDNT GO THROUGH . After inserting it the 3rd or 4th time, it was fine. Couldve just asked me to swipe again..Fix your card reader.. We waited for our new drinks And guess what? The 1st order did go through! We just about had 6 drinks on us. What a mess. You could tell he was so annoyed he just yelled what do you want me to do what do you want me to do? Then just walked away. We will avoid ordering online for now on but it was too stressful dealing with the manager. I guess now he knows that there was money in the account after all. PS- neither of our lattes had whipped cream. This is a pet peeve of mine. If the picture has whipped cream then please do the same when I pay for it. The order even says light whipped cream for my sisters latte. If whipped cream wasnt an option to begin with then why did they even add it to the order? Very misleading

The service is quick and the people taking our order were friendly and helpful. The rewards program got changed so we were unsure about status. The woman taking our order took the time to help us out. Its nice to not feel as if we are just an order number and move along please. Her assistance was much appreciated.

A place of booming efficiency, but cold inside, both literally and some of the staff. I like Jennifer though. The short and young Jennifer with pink and blond hair had empathy and warmth in her exchange with me. And she smiled and gave me a perk when I asked for a small coffee with an inch of milk, and she said how about a grande so she could put more milk in for me. I watched her smile real and genuinely to other customers before I left. Wish I had a couple of bucks for a tip to give her for brightening my morning!
I have the best barista’s EVER! I am here at 5 am every morning and my favorite employees greet me with a smile, and know my order to a tee! I absolutely adore them and their patience with SOME customers who expect immediate delivery of their drink(s)! These two provide immediate service and their ability to pump out orders is quiet impressive! I LOVE my location and my barista’s start my day on a great note everyday! Thanks guys!

Completely empty store (because of covid) so lots of room to wait around. I felt like I had to wait longer than normal because of slower employees, lack of staff as well as alot of mobile orders.

I love this Starbucks! It’s closest to my house so I go all the time and the employees really make sure to get to know you and your name. Every time I come in, Monica always talks to me and we joke with each other but really everybody that works here is awesome!

I enjoyed this coffee shop.I stopped in while passing through Matthews, and my experience was great. Despite being mobbed with manic shoppers from the surrounding stores (my visit was two days before the Christmas holiday), the restaurant remained clean and orderly, and I got my tea without issue. The dining room wasnt the biggest of the many Starbucks Ive been to, but it was large enough not to be uncomfortable, and I managed to have a pleasant lunch amidst the storm of hungry and thirsty Christmas shoppers, sipping good tea and eating good food and reading a good book -- success! I had no issues with this Starbucks, and would gladly return.My sincere thanks goes out to all associated with this business. I am grateful for, and have benefited from, your service. Keep up the good work!
Awesome place to grab some coffee. Not a lot of seating but the plaza is perfect to hang out in with friends or family. Great choices of food around and close to major roads.
So the previous visit my drink was made incorrect which is a rarity, but the store replaced my drink and the replacement was spot on. Thats one of the things I like about Starbucks is that no matter the location, your drink should taste the same everywhere. The staff was overly apologetic about the error on first drink, but I feel more than made up for it by replacing it for free on my next visit. The staff were very friendly and wished me a good remainder of my day. I appreciate the positive atmosphere they create.

Usually with mobile orders Im in and out, this morning they were very busy and it took a bit longer but Im so impressed with how quickly the 3 men behind the counter moved. It truly is a skill to do what they do.
I love this Starbucks in particular because its open till 10pm. I take late night road trips to go see my mom. The baristas are always kind and caring. Its honestly my favorite Starbucks in the area.

The staff were super friendly and kind. My order was ready in a few minutes. There was a sizable seating and loungy area, which was full. The store was clean. There were a lot of regulars that knew the staff names and vice versa. I would definitely return if Im ever in the area again. Today was my last time visiting this particular location. When I asked for them to fix my order, the barista at the register asked “ Why do you order your drink like that? Do you think it will be cheaper that way?”I find that rude, disrespectful and the offensive, I normally order my drinks right on the app but since I was there already I decided to place the order inside. Did I asked for a discount? Did I even asked for the price of the drink? NO! I did NOT! The question was out of place and very unwelcome. Rude!
