Donuts were warm, soft and chewy. not too dense, not too light, just right. service was terse, no nonsense. plain and lemon-filled were my favorites. variety of donuts were the standards youd expect. coffee was good and strong.

Great donuts, great little place-a little constructive criticism for the baker and or owner-there is like no filling to the donuts at all. Boston cream and jelly’s all were maybe a half teaspoon or less little teeny tiny dollop inside. Basically the last bite of my Boston cream contained all the cream for the entire donut. There should be filling inside! Other than that you guys are amazing.

I recently went on a quest to find the best donut shop in the Boston area with a friend, and we were pleasantly surprised by this small, unassuming little place. What beautiful fluffy soft donuts! We went back again the next day to get more. Everything we tried was class: the old fashioned plain, the chocolate Jimmy, the jelly donut. One of the best donut shops Ive ever been to. I am veerry picky about my donuts and seek out family run donut bakeries whenever I can. This is a gem of a donut shop - with mainly traditional varieties of cake and raised donuts. Nothing fancy but oh my goodness the best quality donuts in the area. If you love Kane’s donuts - this spot is probably one notch better. A little more moisture to the donut and the most subtle bit of crunch on the outside. Amazing.

The best kind of hole in wall. Straight up good quality classic donuts. They are not trying to reinvent the wheel but rather perfect a classic. I was impressed with every flavor it tried but glazed stood out. Note: the shop has a very thin footprint so don’t miss it.

Very very fluffy. I like sugar so the donuts are not sweet enough for me, but the texture is really on point. Highly recommend the classic honey glaze and the twist. Will definitely come back here again!

Great donuts. Love all of their lemon curd or cream ones! Jim helped me out with the donuts. I pick 3 lemon ones. Jim placed another (4th) donut in the bag for me because i think he saw me pointing at it earlier but my bf says no more. He gave me 4 donuts but only charged me for 3... then he tried to give me another donut (5th donut, another lemon) before i left. Jim is tooo sweet. It was my first time there today and i would definitely come back for more.

Very good classic donuts, in the airy light style. Love their filled donuts especially, they arent frugal on the filing. Donut production though isnt optimal imo. Store opens much earlier at 6:30am, but donuts are not prepared for purchase until at least 8am? Whats the point of stating 6:30am public hours lol if not ready to sell? And chocolate donuts are supposedly made last in their production process, and arent yet available for purchase I was told until 9:30 to 10am. Uhhhh okay. As others have said, other donuts shops are ready to sell well before 8am, with more flavors and styles ready at that time. Good donuts, but for ease I rather goto Blackbird

Update :Lost a star. Service has gone down hill, and they are requiring everyone to still wear masks, despite people no longer carrying them. Just a heads up.HOWEVER, the are fried fresh and served warm throughout the day, so if you walk in and see nothing, (pro-tip) just ask the counter if anything is coming out. Hands down the best cake style donut in the game. Not the biggest menu, so here is another pro-tip. Everything at DWAD is good. Take what is available or kindly wait outside until what youre looking for comes out. Its a better experience for everyone.DWAD have the #1 donuts on my list. Sadly, its just not the best donut shoppe anymore.

Donuts with a difference has become one of my favorite breakfast stops! Best donuts I’ve ever had and they aren’t expensive. Go for the fresh honey dip

TLDR: Great donuts, average prices, very long wait times.Donuts with a Difference have excellent donuts but that is about it. If you go on the weekend after 9 am you will wait for an extremely long time. This is because the shop makes donuts in batches (about 5-10 minutes a batch). What makes this not work is that a batch appears to be about 2 dozen donuts and makes one flavor, so if you are waiting for 2 or 3 or 4 flavors (or the flavor you want is lower priority) you can wait for very long periods of time. I do revisit them fairly frequently but leave empty handed about half the time.

If you want donuts at 6am when they open - youll find nothing on the shelves and theyll look at you like an intruder. I once had my boxes of 3 dozen donuts given to me in a trash bag. I love their donuts, but theres so much potential to give people a better experience if theyre willing to make some changes.

Honey dip donuts are delicious but the only problem is, they open at 6:00 AM but dont have donuts available until 8:00 AM. Why bother opening at 6:00 if its only for coffee, if your a donut shop!

Donuts are tasty but the presentation leaves much to be desired, empty shelves and quiet staff at 8.20am. Lives up to Bostons reputation as an unfriendly and miserable city. Great donuts though if you can get past the grumpiness.

The donuts are a step above most, however they never have any variety in the multiple times I have been there. They will only have a few kinds to choose from as they make more in the back. Hopefully you like what they have or else its a long wait (15+ mins) until the next batch of a single flavor comes out. Theyre good, but its a shot in the dark if theyll have anything you want available which deters me from coming back.

I love the donuts from here. The staff are pretty no-nonsense and the stock tends to run low mid-morning on the weekends (so get there kind of early if you want a choice). The lemon filled glazed and maple donuts are particularly good. Cake donuts are great, too.

I had a great experience there. I was greeted by a very nice woman with glasses and dark blonde hair. She smiled and called me sir and said thank you. Overall a great experience! Very, very quiet....HOT coffee - thats a given, right? No! But it IS here! 😀 So is the small gathering of regular locals in the early morning, the arrival of the donation truck for yesterdays goodies and the slow (but well worth waiting for) waterfall of sweet smelling hand-dipped, shmeared & filled donuts that parade out of the kitchen!

CLASSIC NORTH SHORE NEW ENGLAND. Some people reviewing here complain about the customer service.. sure, it’s not all unicorns and rainbows. But, if your from here, or looking to have an authentic Bostonian experience, this place feels like home. It’s like stepping into a time capsule. No frills, no small talk, just REALLY amazing donuts. The chocolate frosted was so, so good. Slight crunch on the outter edges, cloud-like in the middle, the frosting was perfectly gooey. I don’t typically write reviews but I’m so excited to bring my friends and fam here.

Amazing. Just as good as Union Square Donuts, right in Medford square close to Tenoch and Ebisuya. The glazed donuts are incredibly light and tender, not yeasty or dense. Boston creme custard is fantastic and the chocolate glaze is dark and rich. Nothing artificial-tasting or heavy.

They have homemade fresh donuts, with different toppings and flavors. The girl behind the counter was friendly and you get the feeling small shop that it is. Totally recommend the lemon jelly donut ;)
