I came in yesterday, 10/25/2021, to sell a 22 in. 14kt chain that was broken. (My dog broke it after being around my neck for 30 years!) I visited Accent Jewelers today for the first time. I had a sterling silverware set that had been sitting in bags for decades. Scott helped me out and paid me a nice fair price for it. A white man and his wife came in and was offered water. We were not. Bad business for black people. Find you a black jewelers to go to. If you need money for coins or jewelry right away this might be your best bet. However, don’t expect top dollar. I went in a few weeks ago and they offered me $1500 for a $20 gold piece. I sold that same piece on eBay for $2250 after all of my expenses for shipping etc. They were extremely nice and friendly, had I been in a position where I needed money right away this would probably have been my best option. Just know that with convenience comes a price.

I felt so unwelcomed. It was a negative experience from the time the associate took my jewelry til the time I left. It has bothered me all weekend. I felt like I was a problem. I never asked for a specific amount but her reply was “All I can offer you is $xxx” It was cold. When I told her I’d take it, she seemed like she could cringe. I’ve never experienced anything like it with anything I’ve bought, sold, or rented from anyone. On the other hand, there was a lady who came in with a bag of loose jewelry and the guy from the commercials didn’t give her any hassle. He was very nice to her and told her immediately what he could offer in a nice, respectful way. I am going to call Monday to speak with her. Not that it will change anything but I want to let her know how she made me feel.

I had such a nice visit there today! I was greeted by the young man who does the tv commercials, he was with a customer, so he said it would be a few minutes. Instead in a few seconds, an extremely nice young man by the name of Scott started waiting on me. I went in there feeling a bit self conscience, because I suspected I had more costume jewelry than real, but I was not sure, so that is why I decided to check them out! Scott made me feel so comfortable and as far as being embarrassed with what I had brought, he acted so nice and patient with me. I was right in having more costume than real, but he took just as much time with me as if I was bringing in the Queens crown! I have been to other places like theres, but the customer service they offer is far beyond other appraisers. They offered me a bottle of water, the employees were talking with all the customers making pleasant conversation and and the entire experience just could not have been nicer!

I brought in a gallon storage bag of jewelry belonging to me and my deceased mom. Liz looked at all the pieces and purchased the majority of what I brought in and gave me a good price for the lot. I also had a few nice pieces of heirloom costume jewelry that Accent wasnt interested in, but Liz gave me the name of a business that buys costume jewelry. I appreciate the referral. This place is horrible. They never returned my calls i been waiting since June 1, 2020. This company has stolen 10,000 worth of jewelry. The owner wouldnt talk to me. Spent the better part of a day visiting several other precious metals/coins places but Matt took his time and was the most methodical in providing a fair and the most credible offer. Not only did he itemize each piece and its value, he took his time to educate and discuss how he arrived at the value. This was during what appeared to me a very busy time at mid-day. All staff seemed busy assisting customers coming and going, but at no time did I feel rushed. The entire experience reminded me in a positive way of the opening scene from 12 OClock High as Dean Jagger walks out of the London mens hatter shop and thanks the shop clerk for a very pleasant several hours that back in the states would have taken 15 minutes.
