Appearance of the store is great. Clean, organized and friendly, helpful associates. Mark and Denise took great care of me. Answered all my questions and made sure I understood everything I needed. Made my experience extremely pleasant and easy.

Copied and pasted directly from the state website.So I was in academy, the person in front of me absolutely stunk of marijuana. Buying .223 ammunition. After this person was allowed to cash out, I asked the 2 associates if they smelled that. They said yea, it was strong. Then I asked them if they are aware of a policy or law that would prohibit this person From purchasing ammo, they said no. Then I asked if they can refuse to sell ammo to a person under the influence, they both said, “they are unaware”. So not only did these two associates and customer break the law, but academy doesn’t even inform their associates about the law. AND THESE PEOPLE SELL GUNS TO THE PUBLIC . This is irresponsible and unacceptable and I hope this problem is dealt with swiftly before this person commits a crime, that this company enabled

Do not purchase Igloo 24qt cooler with handle. I have purchased one and returned it three times with discrepancy in product manufacture.The lid does not seal well. You can test this by putting water in cooler. Doesnt have to be much. Place cooler on side and watch the water leak out.A cooler should seal and not be able to leak out contents. The fact that I have experienced this with three of the same coolers leads me to believe this entire line of coolers is poop.

The latest, greatest sports and outdoor store. Huge selection of all things outdoors, especially the impressive outdoor grilling, smoking, cooking selections and massive shoe department. Clean, well organized facility with fair prices. Works for me.

I just love this store! They do have good prices and variety despite the current shortages around the country. Always helpful, and usually have discounts and sales. They also have adicional discounts for us first responders and medical personnel. Thanks guys !

Always good price could be better but not bad.

I ran in quickly to pick up a 1 to 3 pound hand weight. Never been in this location so was not familiar with the layout. First person I ask pointed me in the direction then took me there. Great service. I wish I had her name so I could give her a shout out. She saved me time and I appreciated her attention and care about a customer. I can recommend this location.

If Walmart or Target doesnt have it, I bet they have it here. Huge store, extremely clean, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The layout of this store is easy to navigate. You dont feel lost looking for a certain item.

Looking for a 14 or 13 wide shoe when you advertise it and you dont have it not cool. Couldnt really find anyone to help you but did found some shoes after endless searching.There socks go up to a 12 hello you sale shoes up to a 14 get some socks on order of the same size.

Went into the store. Two workers stood near the entrance looked at me as if I had a wrecked face. No greeting from them. I greeted them with no response. I was looking for football equipment for my son and workers walked passed me even when I said excuse me. So as I proceeded to exit, I found one worker standing near the exit and asked my questions. He answered me. The only one that answered! When workers see handicapped people inside the store they should assume they need help. Place yourself near so they dont get frustrated and leave.

List my phone here, they were so nice. When I returned they had it safely locked in safe. Manager was excellent.

Every employee we interacted with was incredibly helpful and pleasant. They were quick to assist us with our heavy purchase, and loaded it onto a cart for us and held it at the front while we finished shopping. The store appears to be well organized and clean - my only critique is I wish they enforced the mask mandate a little more. Still, this was a great experience and I look forward to returning.EDIT 8/31: Editing to add my most recent experience. I went back to pick up some MMA gloves that I had my eye on. Unfortunately, the ones on display were not the ones I had tried on, even though they looked similar (I had a picture for reference), and they did not have the size I needed. When I asked customer service, an older white man scanned the similar item and told me they only came in one size, when I showed him the picture, he just said “hmm, that’s weird.” Fortunately, another employee (Dennis) was OUTSTANDING and went back with me to look, and was able to locate the actual gloves I needed, staying with me while I tried them on to make sure it was everything I needed. Dennis is an outstanding employee and I hope the other man learns from him.

I had to exchange a piece of clothing and it was a simple process. I spent very few minutes in the building. I was able to get back home and finish packing for my mini-vacation. I was comfortable in my new shirt. Thank you, Academy!

Im a outdoor guy, and love there fitness section of the store, anyway I saw there getting there ammo back to normal which is great for people like me that want to just shoot targets with the wife and there staff is awesome I personally love the place. Great store / Great employees what else can you ask for and of course the name brands your looking for. Like I said awesome.

Will not spend my money at a place where customer service is poor!Customer service was horrible! I felt so disrespected! I asked several times about basketball shorts and the workers that were having inappropriate conversation acted as if I were invisible. Although Ms.Susie stopped her conversation to ask a Caucasian male did he need help; all while I was in arms reach of her. So I proceeded to the shoe section where no one asked did I need assistance; I counted 3 workers that were just walking around. I finally asked for assistance and the guy was nonchalant and walked away when his coworker began talking to him. He did not apologize, he did not return, nor did he try and get anyone else to help us. I reported to the manager which was nice but I still left because the store was not busy and the workers were just walking around idol!

Very well organized store. Didnt see anyone in the sales floor until visiting the changing rooms and of course checkout, which has long lines. Walked to the back left/shoe area and clockwise in the racetrack until ending up at checkout. Where is everyone?

Great place to buy firearms and always a smooth process for the paperwork. I also have purchased a cooler and other outdoor equipment and have yet to be disappointed with anything at this store. Employees have been very helpful in giving me information about a product or recommendations for another that may better suit my needs and I have no complaints yet. I dont always give stores a review unless Im really impressed or disappointed.

Clean. Prices can be high. Someone had a kid running around screaming the entire time we were there. Obviously this is no fault of Academy, but made the experience stink.

Online showed in-stock at the store on several life jackets, but the actual in-stock was extremely limited. The life jackets were all hanging on different pegs with the wrong prices, a fact realized when I got to the register. Mine rang up $30 more than the price on the peg it was hanging on, but I didnt argue. I also bought 2 fishing blouses that were on the marked down rack that rang up regular price. I shrugged & shook my head. Price integrity & quality employees flew out the window a long time ago in the retail world. Sad to see them leave.

Was just in this Academy and was next in line and the cashier turned the light off and walked off without saying a word to anyone. Just left us and others standing in line. No one care that there were people waiting.Sad customer service, no excuse for this behavior.

I have been in these stores in jackson tn. And memphis tn. Also for 22 rifle shells at least 5 times for each place but no shells, why dont they order enough ammo to do for a few days.

I ordered my son, who lives in another state, a gift card for Christmas on December 15th. I also ordered the rest of his family gift cards from various other department stores. All their cards arrived last week. I called Academy and was told delivery could be between December 22nd - December 31st. Seriously?? Oh, and they don’t have an e-card option. Ridiculous!!! It’s now too late to get ANYTHING to him before Christmas, as they stated they couldn’t even guarantee overnighting it would get it there on time! Enough is enough! So long Academy! No more business from us!!

Academy Sports has always been one of my favorite places when I lived in Alabama Decatur Alabama was the first one to ever have one of those in that was many moons ago have a great selection decent prices and the only place I know of where you can get decent long-lasting athletic shoes more along the lines of their own personal Academy brand always everyday for men and women under thirty bucks happy shopping all

I like Academy Sports. There is a ton of stuff for nearly every sport. Is it all the best stuff? No. Will it get you started? Absolutely. For most sports, other than the top tier Academy has you covered.Ive bought stuff at Academy for a variety of activities: Volleyball, soccer, disc golf, kickboxing, fishing, kayaking. camping, etc.Its the outdoor section that truly needs to find its place. If youre looking for outdoor activities, such as camping or hunting, the Collierville location is better stocked with items to fit your needs. In fact, if youre looking for camping (glamping?) Definitely check out cville as cordova is lacking in on-shelf inventory.As far as service, nothing special here. At cordova location, someone will only help you if you ask them. Once contacted, they were far more eager and manageable.

Bought a firearm there. The staff was excellent, knowledgeable and very helpful. They helped in providing information on the process and making as painless as possible!

Jeff was horrible. My wife and I drove an hour and half specifically to this Academy. I called ahead to make sure the weight bench I was looking for was there, and they said they had 2 in stock. I told them I was making the long drive and to set it aside. We purchased the weight bench and were told to wait outside. We waited a half hour while they “looked in the back.” It ended up being that they only had the floor model, which was scuffed and scratched. They wouldn’t offer any money off despite the damage, as well as lacking a box and warranty information. What a waste of time.
