Super quaint record store. Great music playing and the coolest dude behind the counter!

This is an awesome store. They have a great selection of vinyl and CDs and more. I love the collection of weird album covers by the front door.

Awesome place to buy albums. But they also have CDs, cassettes, books and other things. A cool place to check out if you are a music lover.

Im in for the weekend from out of town. I pull up to an empty parking lot 30 minutes before closing. I call and they are all booked up for the day with plenty of spots tomorrow. Hilarious. Im fully supportive of store occupancy limits and any reasonable restrictions but this seems a bit pretentious. Oh well.

Called and spoke to representative. I wanted a Miles Davis album for my sons collection. The rep was very nice and helpful. Album was in stock. My son was very pleased.

We scheduled a same day appointment and the staff was very helpful. My teenage daughter and I absolutely love this place and would recommend it to anyone who loves any kind of music.

The owner was super nice and he had a decent and well organized selection of records. He let me and my boyfriend come browse during our vacation after being turned away from another record store for not making an appointment.

Shangri-la Records had nice customer service. The only thing I had an issue with is the records I sold were really old and some were rare. About 50 records for $80 in store credit or $40 cash. I was a bit disappointed.

Cool old building with a fantastic selection of nearly everything you were looking for and lots that you didnt know you needed. Always has lots to offer in the jazz section. Everytime I come in here I experience the feeling of unearthing a hidden treasure. Always exciting to see old prints of your favorite albums hiding in the stalls

Very cool hip and funky place. Wide variety they have a lot of everything for all tastes in music. Plenty of free parking and cool stickers lots of musical knowledge too.

An excellent record shop. Large selection, good prices - and the records are generally very clean (not always true of bargain records). Staff are friendly and helpful. The building is easy to locate. The parking lot isnt large, but I believe they have additional parking behind the building.

First time to visit today. The customer service is awesome. The selection is awesome. They go out of their way to help you. I didnt even make a purchase today but they still answered all of my questions and treated me like I was their best customer. Saw a lot of items I will be buying and will definitely be purchasing them from them. Customer service is superb.

Yeah they have a wide range of music if you love music ranging from 50s to 80s from artists youve MAYBE heard of. They do have rarities, but nothing from people Ive ever heard of. The people there are nice Ill give them that, but they played AWFUL music while I was there. There was a song with a 5 min guitar solo when it was just trash. Heard amazing things about this store and left very disappointed and decided to go to Spin Street to get two records that I eventually bought there.

Great spot. You can relax and take your time for there is no pressure from staff. Prices are reasonable and you can listen to the record prior to purchase to ensure quality.

We traveled from Kentucky where there isnt a great vinyl selection. We were absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the records we scored from Shangri-La. So many big names and albums that you could never find here. Got several Janis, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin etc. Cant wait to make the trip back to Memphis to see what else I can find!!

Amazing record store! Hard to leave with hands empty. Located in the coolest Memphis area to my opinion.

Decent selection, average prices, but the female working was rude, unhelpful. She acted as if it was an inconvenience to have to wait on me at all.

This was first record shops i was ever exposed to i came here when i was 13 years old with my mom and aunt it was cool then & awesome now, I went in found some awesome records! Shangri-La one of the best in town definitely would be shopping there more often since it being the first record shop i ever visited

Had everything I was looking for to restore my iTunes library they had all kinds of music from 80s 90s and 2000 I couldnt believe I was able to restore my iTunes library.

Definitely a must stop if you’re in the area, a pretty okay selection of vinyl. People are nice and friendly.

Used to love going here but the last experience was just awful. You always get that I know more then you hipster vibe from the employees but they were always friendly. Then my last trip there the 2 guys who were working were just arrogant and rude to me and also another customer who was in the store. I used to get excited to drive 30 mins to go look around the store but after last time I wont be going back.

Poor selection and bad presentation. They had on some primal scream music with a drum beat from a two dollar toy organ that made me want to leave as soon as I stepped in the door. I am open to all kinds of music but this track must have come from the top 10 play list at GITMO.

High prices on common records. The guy behind the counter reminded me of Jack Black in High Fidelity. He was rude and condescending. Too cool for that job, obviously. Small and the selection isnt yhat great. Hey, but at least its across the street from Hueys and they have a great burger.

Decently organized and realistically priced itmes, in particular the 70s and 80s LPs.Theres always great (Memphis) music playing on the speakers taking the shopping experience to the next level!

Everything under the sun. Staff knows their music and the atmosphere is like a music frat house. A must visit, every time I go to Memphis.

Went in the other day to sell some old records. The money offered seemed reasonable.

A large selection of used vinyl, very few of it is newer stuff. They do offer new records but genre is extremely limited. Dont even waste your time if you are looking for any subgenre of extreme metal ( hardcore, death, black, djent, shoegaze).

This might be the store with the best selection on 60s and psych record that I have seen in a very long time. There were a lot of records present that were an are still on my want list. Still? Yes. There where so many that I couldnt choose. Prices were rather high, not too high. But getting to rhe roof of whats okay to ask for records (i know discogs and ebay prices ofcourse). I think i would have bought one or two if they were 5/10% cheaper than they are now.But still, by far best selection I have seen in a very, very, very long time.
