Found this shop online and was very easy to find. Walked in and greeted with a smile. Looked at a few guitars and left the store with a brand new guitar. What I really liked about the shop was their receipt is hand written. Customers name and type of guitar, serial number and extras. I felt like they wanted my business and they got it. Thank you staff for taking time for us. Drove back to Texas with a guitar from Memphis.

I went by Martin Music while I was in Memphis on vacation and I loved it. One of the best experiences Ive had in a music store. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about music and gear. I was able to try out a number of items with no sales pressure. They ended up giving me a great deal on a guitar I fell in love with and shipped it back to Virginia for me. I wish we had a store like this in my area.

Very poor customer service. My sense is they didnt care either way whether I shop there or not. I made a substantial purchase with a credit card. The ukulele case I bought was dirty. I did not realize it was covered in dust until I got home. You would think that they would brush it off first before they sold it to me. Again its all about quality of service. I would recommend going somewhere else.

The workers arent that friendly. I spoke when the entered the sure and nobody spoke back. I wasnt asked how can I help you but the store is very clean. All the instruments look excellent and my daughter did but a guitar strap at a very reasonable price and she loves it. Everything was well stocked and dust free. I think they should work on greeting the customers but thats my only complaint because every question I asked was answered with a smile.

This guitar shop has the most knowledgeable and friendliest owners Ive ever met. Interested in something? Theyll teach you how to use it and get more out of it. Especially pedals. Ive gotten work done on a guitar here and seen touring musicians take their instruments to this shop.

This is your typical very high-end guitar shop where no one even looks at you when you walk in the door and the five present employees dont come over to see if you need anything. I play about 300 shows a year all over the entire world and frequent guitar shops all over the place LOL. I have been here multiple times and its the same every time. Working musicians should go elsewhere.

A few years back, I bought a very expensive limited edition guitar from Martin Music. They had 4 in stock. I told them the serial number and the hand signed back plate number. They sent me the wrong guitar. When I called and explained this, I was told the serial numbers are generic and they attach the back plates after the fact so the numbers dont always match. This was a heavily quilted top guitar and I picked the one I did for the figuring. The one I received was not the same guitar. The guitar I received played great and I planned on keeping it, I just wish they wouldve owned up to the mix up. At the time they had a sold gallery of said guitar manufacturer and for some reason the two guitars in question never showed up in the gallery. Not the end of the world as I still got a nice guitar, but I sure wouldnt trust them buying sight unseen.

You do not find stores like this much more. This is a small town store, with an active owner, who takes pride in his work. Customer service and customer satisfaction are the obvious goals of this store. You are made to feel welcome and not pressured to buy. Go shop at a discount store like I did, and then go to Martin Music, and you will understand why I was was pleased with my decision to buy a guitar from Martin Music.

Awesome place with awesome high end gear rarely found in music shops these days. I have purchased a used guitar and a combo amp from here I might never would have because of the vast knowledge of the staff. They know good tone and cool gear. I also had my les paul worked on here and the repairs were top shelf.

By far the only best serious music store in the city. If you want high end guitars and amps, Martin Music is the place to go. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. The guitars are set up perfectly unlike the junk you see in the superstores where they are unboxed and thrown on the rack. Eric Martin runs a great shop and stands behind what he sells. I have been a long time customer for many years. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

I was in the market for a guitar - I particularly wanted to replace an older Paul Reed Smith that I had stupidly sold years ago. I was poised to purchase off E-Bay. A call and conversation with Eric, owner and proprietor of Martin Music, regarding pros and cons of the older PRS Guitars vs. newer was interesting. Suddenly, Eric asked if I really wanted an older, pre-factory model. I replied in the affirmative. He told me of one that might be available. This conversation was on a Monday, and after he spoke with the owner, that it would be in his store by the weekend. Unexpectedly he called me on Wednesday and said the owner was waiting for him when the store opened and was anxious to sell. Couldnt make it until Friday but long story/ short, I purchased said instrument. It is the most exquisite guitar I have ever owned. I am sorry I am leaving Memphis. Highest recommendation for this establishment!!

Walked in with a grand to spend from some recent amp sales. Asked about the scuffed orange 412 they had listed at 599. This price isnt unheard of. Not one mile away I found one used in better condition for 600. Im going to buy one in Nashville for 450 right now. They told me it was the wrong price. 849. I then asked about rackmount preamps (you know, the mesa triaxis, studio pre sort) and they responded with were not that high tech here. They are mesa dealers. 2 stars because it looked nice. Came across as any other high paid, mindless salesman. They didnt know anything about what they sell. Would not recommend.

Best repair tech in Memphis / Nashville - period! Dropped off my Jack Briggs Apollo Special with Bobby to fix a poor repair done at another local shop (wanted to install PIO caps and rewire to 50s style wiring). I am from Southern California originally, moved to Memphis for my company in 2007. I am more of a boutique / vintage collector than a player, many high end tube amps and electric / acoustic guitars. My West coast tech was Mike Tuttle, formally with Don Grosh guitars and now on his own for several years - an incredible builder - best frets in the business (ends are like hotdog ends). So I dont go on and on with the details, I gave Bobby full permission to do whatever he wanted to optimize tone - (new pots, wiring, shielding, etc). I am extremely satisfied at the level of neat, clean and professional work he did - my control cavity is a work of art - everything super neat and tidy, all wires shrink wrapped or sleeved. Bottom line - the guitar rivals the best I have ever owned, sounds and plays amazing. I have never been so happy to pay a bill in my life, worth every penny and then some - great value for those that like and insist on sanitary work by someone who knows what is up. Bobby is the best - I would bring him any high dollar vintage or new guitar without hesitation! The guys at Martin Music were also very cool - friendly, helpful and welcoming - obviously a great shop and the best in Memphis.
