UPDATE* after posting this review the owners promptly contacted me to listen to our issues. They offered to have someone come out to fix the wood floor that was damaged. Our wood floors have been fixed and you can’t tell there was any damage done in the first place. We still love the final product, as we originally did, and we are thankful this company cares enough to address the issue and get it resolved. Originally I posted a 2 star review but now I am switching to a 5 star.I am giving a review of this place because we had some issues regarding our install. Overall the final product was amazing BUT they damaged a lot of stuff during our install and just left without saying a word like we wouldn’t find it. They broke the door to my garage by bending the automatic closing bar. They also broke off a piece of our oak trim in our foyer. And they just shoved our couch (which we moved and wasn’t in the way) so our REAL hardwood floors had deep gouges and scratches in it. The installers name was Serge. The salesmen Mark came over after I mentioned all this and he said to our faces “well, prove that we did that and that it wasn’t already existing damage but I’ll take $100 off to total” Also we were told that moving the appliances and toilet were included but it wasn’t until the installation was completed and I asked for my itemized copy with a breakdown of the charges that I saw it wasn’t and it was an additional cost. I have included the photos in my review. I tried to fill the scratches and gouges but they are terrible and I have to get several quotes to have it professionally serviced.

Serge, our installer, was truly a craftsman, laying our floor precisely and quickly and cleaning up afterwards such that it almost seemed as though the transformation occurred in the blinking of an eye. We could not be happier with the result.

I’m very happy with the job International Floor Coverings of Mentor did in my home. I decided to replace the carpeting on my stairs and second floor. Rob Krueger arrived promptly for the appointment and was very knowledgeable and friendly, asking questions to get an idea of what I needed and measured and photographed every room that was getting carpeting. After looking over numerous samples I chose my carpet & padding, paid my deposit and was told I would be contacted within the next 3-5 weeks for installation (was informed it normally would be sooner but with the pandemic, timetables has been extended). Sure enough, I was contacted a month later via email and set up a date to install the carpeting. The crew arrived on time, was courteous and professional, wasted no time removing my old carpet and putting down the new. It was correctly installed with the right padding and a higher pile in my bedroom versus the rest of the second floor per my request. In four hours they were done, cleaned up and left. They even let me keep the remnants. I love how it turned out and would gladly do business with them in the future.

Very satisfied with my recent job. I had laminate flooring installed in 2 bedrooms. The color I chose matched perfectly in 2 different rooms. My salesman had samples in his truck so we were able to look at the flooring in the room without numerous trips to the store to trial samples. The installers did a great job. The flooring looks wonderful. Everything was as promised. Also the salesman returned to inspect the flooring which was a nice final touch.

Shelly and Joe presented many different styles of floor samples and answered all of our questions to help us pick the perfect floor. We needed a floor that would hold up with having a pool and two dogs.The day of install, the install guys showed up on time. They worked non-stop and had our entire first floor completed in two days!!Professional, prompt, quality work! Absolutely, LOVE my floors!!!

We first tried a bedroom on our own, and it’s not as easy as YouTube explains or how easy Sergio, their installer, makes it look. And to top it off the owners completed a full final inspection and made sure we were happy with our floor and the experience.We really love our new wood floors and this company! Well our experience was left to chance after our basement flooded. We didn’t know what to do or who to call. We were referred to Floor Coverings International via Angie’s list. Within 24 hours from the call Mark showed up at our home, in a company van, professionally dressed, and with samples.After about an hour of diligent measuring, going over our options for carpet and padding we’d made a decision. Well about 4 weeks later on the schedule for install! Yes! Or carpet was installed in 4 ish hours, the floors were cleaned and vacuumed before the installers left and walaha back to normal life.In today’s age (contractors) have bad raps but the team at FCI was prompt, kept us informed about the status, and delivered as they said!! We’ll be having them redo our upstairs this summer!Job well done guys!!!

We had a great experience with Floor Coverings (Joe and Shelly Sekki and the installers Serge and Paul). Joe came to our house and showed us options (a very large selection!) and all done safely (masks, distancing). Installation went well; Serge and Paul were very helpful in explaining what they would be doing and we had a new floor in 2 days. The floor did develop a slight bubble so I called Joe and they came out within a day or so and repaired it. It looks beautiful. If you want personal service with a very professional company, I highly highly recommend these guys!!

We had three companies coming over to give us an estimate and we decided to go with Floor Coverings International of Mentor. Joe took his time to explain everything and we decided to replace our carpets (over 1000 sqf) with engineered hardwood. We had big subfloor issues that were totally taken care of in a very professional way. We are very critical and detail-oriented people but I can tell you they really delivered an amazing job. I have an 80 year old house and a long time ago the previous owner knocked down the back wall and extended the kitchen and added a second dining room. I wanted a new floor across both rooms and thought the only solution would be sheet flooring like linoleum because the kitchen floor was uneven from front to back and left to right, particularly where the original and extension met. Also the subfloor was very rough from the removal of 80 year old squares that had a tar like adhesive. The salesman told me no, it is possible to put down a floating floor. They did and did it really well. The installer leveled the floor with a compound I didn’t know existed and put down a picture perfect new floor.I told them and will mention here that I am very appreciative of the work their installer did for me.

We changed out ALL of our flooring after moving into our home last year. This was a major expense, so we were naturally nervous about picking the flooring company that would satisfy our need for both hard floor and carpet covering.Floor Coverings International fit the bill perfectly and we couldnt be more satisfied! They brought their mobile flooring show to our home to give us an opportunity to select flooring in the proper lighting that we would be living in, which was a great feature. Once ordered, the team coordinated the two installation jobs (one for carpet and one for hard floor) and they managed every detail. One note to mention, the installers were extraordinarily professional and moved all the furniture out and back to original places - no hassles! Each completed the projects on time. The sales team followed up with an inspection of the work to ensure quality. One small fix was needed and they arranged for the installer to be back within 48 hours and make the fix immediately.This can be a large investment, so its important to trust the people you are working with. I feel very good about about the 5 star rating. I smile every time my feet hit the floor!

Well it was that time. We replaced 20yr old carpeting in our bedroom and our lower level. Mark came out to our home with samples and great ideas and direction. Im sure we could have gotten other quotes for less, however we know that not all carpet and padding is created equal. We helped our parents move closer to us. The only thing needed in their new home was carpeting. We contacted Floor Covering International. It was great to have them come to us, with a van full of samples. We were able to spread the samples on the floor and see the carpet in the exact light... with the color of the walls, etc. Soon we had picked the right carpet and it wasnt too long, the carpet had arrived and we were scheduling the install. They came out, were on time and did a great job with the installation. Parents love the carpet, the way it feels to walk on. We are so thankful for how easy they were to work with at Floor Covering International of Mentor. We dealt with Joe and Shelly, they were both great, very polite and professional.

FCI has great selections of a variety of different types of flooring. Everyone is very friendly. Most important thought everyone who works on your floors from FCI knows their ----! They are experts. I am beyond thrilled with the work that Floor Coverings did in our home. From the moment we moved in, I knew replacing our floors was going to be one of the first improvements we made. We replaced nearly our entire first floor - which was white ceramic tile - with laminate wood. The transformation is incredible!Shelley and Joe were phenomenal partners from beginning to end. It was clear they would go the extra mile to get the job done at the level of quality that any customer would expect. We happened to be out of town for most of our project and both Shelley and Joe kept us updated on progress regularly. We trusted them in our home. They were flexibile with us when we needed to delay the completion. They kept our home clean with only extremely minor damage that they willingly repaired. Joe and Shelly were so helpful with getting our basement back into comfortable liveable condition. They took on a job that the local big box stores wouldnt touch. From the beginning they were friendly, helpful, and professional. They were knowledgeable about which products would suit us best. The installer was just as friendly, professional, and skilled. The time from the estimate to the installation was super quick which we really appreciated. The basement is once again a comfortable place to be. We thank you and all my sons gaming friends thank you too. Our basement is the place to be. The floor must be super cushioned because those boys sure dont mind sleeping until noon on the floor. I can hardly wait until we can do our next flooring project.

The tech crews were exceptional, service was outstanding and they made sure to work around OUR schedule.The finished job was as near perfect as possible and in addition, when I tried to pay the balance after the job was over, they would NOT accept it until the management made a Final Walk Through to inspect … who does that now??
