Instead of turning off all electrical outlets and removing all the chairs and lounging areas to peruse books, Barnes and Noble should be doing everything possible to get people in thier empty stores. Instead of kicking people out you should be more welcoming to working people in your store that live in the area, its already a virtual ghost town in here. YOUR virtually being killed by Amazon yet you act is if you dont even know it. Good books? Yes, Good coffee? Maybe, but dont sit down to enjoy any of it. The Barnes and Noble of yesterday is gone forever. Sad

Katie was my cashier and so good at so good at her job! Nice and getting those spells like a mofo lol. Also the sweet Hispanic lady in the cafe was incredibly nice! Their kids section was unbelievably clean and plenty of places to sit and read to our littles. I will definitely be back!

We love coming to this Barnes & Nobles. The kids section always has something for our little ones to play with and for us to get for them. The staff are always super helpful and attentive.On the weekends there is a story time where someone will read books to the kids. It’s at 11am on Saturday and Sunday.As usual there is a Starbucks in the store for coffee while one enjoys a book.

There is nothing compared to holding a nice book in your hands, cuddled up in a chair with a hot drink. Barnes and Noble has a great selecrion and many chairs so you can take tour time and skim through the books to make sure they are ones you want to add to your collection. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. I love this store.

I am an old school lover of books. I do read a lot of content online, of course. But, for me, theres nothing like holding a book and turning the paper pages. All that to say, this bookstore is one of the best, as far as chains go. They have managed to find a few obscure books for me in the recent past, and it took some online digging to do it. Cool...

Book stores are great. This is a book store. You should go to book stores. This one has a large selection and a peaceful atmosphere. Buy a book. Get some Starbucks. Read your book and drink your Starbucks in refreshing air conditioning. Maybe you hate Starbucks and/or air conditioning. Buy a book and read it somewhere else. Theres a smoothie joint next door, and a really nice boba shop a bit further away in the lot. Its all a recipe for an amazing afternoon. Or morning. Or evening. Have a great time for $25 or less.

I love Barnes & Noble. I dont really read books much anymore and cant afford books right now anyways. But Ive read books in there sitting in there nice chairs. But last I was in there they didnt have those chairs so now Im not going there

Bookstore and cafe are both welcoming. Selection is good and employees are very knowledgeable about their stock. When they arent sure, they double check to ensure you find the right book or go to the right area so you arent wondering around.

We love to come to Barnes and Noble! Not only for the books, but we are also into the old 45s and they have a whole record/music section that we could easily loose ourselves into. The childrens section is super friendly and very easy to navigate. I would like to see more comfy seating areas that compliment the coffee/books idea together, but we are able to grab a book and read it in the Starbucks if we chose. The staff is always welcoming and willing to help. Barnes and Noble does a really big sale during the holidays that makes it super great for gifting!!!

Its a great place to go to because Jamba Juice is right next door. Enjoyed grabbing a juice and going to Barnes and Noble to shop for kids books.

I love to go to Barnes & Noble to just wander around. The atmosphere is a great vibe and makes me want to stay all day. There is a Harry Potter section and i enjoyed it, but there were no actual Harry Potter books near it, only trinkets. I mean dont get me wrong I love Harry Potter stuff but I was actually looking for a book and I couldnt find any!

Had a wonderful time, great coffee and treats, tables to visit. Then looked for a new Bible, got one at a great price. The service in the cafe and at the book register was great. Very friendly people.

The customer service guy was soooo helpful! He spent a good 15 minutes walking through the store looking for exactly the books I was looking for. I was impressed

The customer service could definitely improve at the coffee shop located inside Barnes and Noble. Young woman seemed a little bothered while taking the order and needs to learn how to not to talk disrespectful to customers. Some training on what needs to be said and what cant would be a good option. Other than that, the book store was a good experience at this location. Very helpful staff on helping me find the books I needed.

Love dropping by after work, or during my lunch. The atmosphere is always calm, the book sellers are always informative. The cafe is wonderful to. Definitely a great spot to stop into after a stressful day.

Barnes was a delight. I went to look at tarot and oracle decks after perusing the section where theyre normally located and finding nothing there. I was informed they are now kept behind the counter. It is very hard to select a deck based solely on cover art from 6 feet away. Other than this disappointment the store was clean staff very cordial and friendly.

Well I didnt like how some of the employees treated what seemed to be the homeless. I believe everybody should be treated fairly. Thou shall not Judge. It is definitely nice to have a actual bookstore to go to. Thanks B&N

Everyone was very friendly and helpful

Wonderful selection and good location (places to eat nearby), but not so great characters loom around in there sometimes. The last time I was there, a woman who seemed to be tripping on drugs was rolling around against a wall near the back of the store.

This place is awesome, and has become my second home over the years! My family and I were excited when it opened.

Had a young gal help us...wish I could remember her name...she was excellent. Knew her authors like no other. I was truly amazed. She helped my daughter fund certain books that she liked and introduced her to some others. Great service.

They should have a schedule of their employees listed on the door so you know what your in for that day because some of them are severely lacking in customer service skills. Just saying train your employees to treat the customers like theyre handling their paychecks.

$2 cheesecake is what brought us in on Valentines Day. We love getting lost in here. Bookstores feel like a luxury nowadays.

Typical Barnes and Noble with great selection of titles. Clean wide isles. They do have a childrens section and a vinyl record section in their audio video area. A nice Starbucks cafe is also present.

Big box bookstore. Packed with books and other stuff. This one has a quite slow and not too popular Starbucks, if thats your thing. For stars, because the staff is super cool.

I am very annoyed that the new books, usually best sellers, are now just put on the shelves among all the other books. Whose dumb idea was this? It was always a joy to see what new books were published, many times a wonderful surprise. Please re-examine this corporate decision, probably made by a non-reader.

The store was extremely clean and messes seemed to disappear within seconds. They had distinct and defined sections dividing merch from book. Friendly staff, coupons for snacks when I went, it was an enjoyable experience.

Has a large selection of books (of course) but also has a great selection of music (CDs and Vinyl), movies, TV shows, magazines, collectibles, board games, and much much more. Everything is made better with their very friendly and helpful staff. One of my favorite places in town.

I LOVE it here. Its a bit small compared to the others but it makes up for it with the staff. Very friendly people. Ended up starting a conversation that felt as natural as talking to a friend of mine. I go to just browse or meet up with a friend but I know damn well that Im walking out with at least 2 books. Its very hard to walk out of that place empty handed.

I was there for about an hour looking for a particular book. I noticed two employees asking other customers if they needed help finding what they were looking for. I waited for someone to ask me and I purposesly waited longer in hopes that I could get some help. It never happened so I left, but before I had a slice of new York cheese cake. The cheese cake upgraded their dismal star rating to four. Yes, it was that damn good.

Very helpful and friendly staff, but some organizational issues with the books. Spent a while trying to find a book listed as in stock, but was ultimately unsuccessful despite being helped by multiple employees. Store has great atmosphere, one of the few bookstores in Merced. Book selection is fairly mainstream, but not poor.

This is a really nice place, it has a Starbucks cafe and they make sure they keep their inventory stocked. Staff is friendly and will help you with whatever you need.
