This is very much a diamond in the rough as it looks a bit intimidating from the outside. The chocolate is excellent and the pectin jellybeans are great too. My neighbor got the calcium infused chocolate as a supplement and loves that she can have a yummy way to fight bone density loss. Had some shipped states away and it arrived the next day in perfect condition as it was carefully packaged.

You can keep Godiva chocolate or spend money for some fancy imported brand. Ill take Thompsons chocolate Easter bunnies any day of the week. And the rest of the year Im happy to chowdown on their marzipan, candy, and chocolate. It really isnt Easter without Thompson chocolate. this was our first time back in almost 20 years and the chocolate is better than ever. Its a great place for making a special Easter memory for your children or continuing a tradition. When my daughter visits this Easter for the first time in decades she will have an Easter bunny from Thompson chocolate. Check it out.

Delicious, chocolatey, creamy, just right. Enough cocoa flavor. I grew up on both Hershey‘s and Swiss chocolate. Each has its own charms. Thompson strikes just the right balance in between. I’ll continue to seek out more!

After walking in without a mask the lady that works the front counter stopped us and said we need to wear a mask to enter. So we complied and started shopping for some candy. When we were in line ready to pay the lady ignored us and started to help another customer that just walked in without a mask and left us waiting. So I told the lady I guess they dont need a mask for service.Apparently they pick and choose who wears a mask and who dont. We left empty handed and insulted.

The products ( both standard and sugar free, sampled today by many willing volunteers) are at least superb in quality, selection, and presentation. The business environment is clearly family based, and it decidedly shows in the warm demeanor of the staff. This is quintessential New England small business at its best, accentuated by the holiday season, where it truly shines.If you seek best business practices or savor the way things used to be, this is an experience not to be missed.I rated this five stars because the scale doesnt go to ten!Visit this establishment and you will not be disappointed as you enjoy the absolute best of local business and service.

Very clean place best chocolate Ive ever eaten been in meriden for more than 75 years. For Easter you can get all of your candy and stuff at their shop. I highly recommend this awesome place.

A main stay for Meriden. Ever since I was a child, we would go to Thompsons for Easter and Christmas. They have wonderful chocolate. The milk chocolate pecan bark is unbelievable. I have to send it to relatives in California each holiday.

I love that they sell their own product at the factory store. Prices are a little high but the chocolate is so good. A little upset they dont make white chocolate anymore but the other kinds are good. They also sell sugar free chocolate! Staff is friendly.

Thompson’s Chocolate is a gem in Meriden. Their retail store has tasty seasonal Chocolates and candies. They area must for Easter and Christmas with cute bunnies and Santa’s. Year round you can get seasonally wrapped chocolates. I had the fortune to get a glimps of them making the chocolates the old fashioned way, by hand! They also do cool customizations so if you have an event check them out. Ask for Kevin, he will be able to help you out with that.

Their products are a family tradition, and the business is a unique Connecticut institution. A must visit for the holidays or other special occasions.

When I was in high school in the mid-60s a friend and I worked at Thompsons when it was at the old brick building. My job was to paint the ears and faces on the foil wrapped bunnies. Are they still hand painted or is that something from the past?
