I like this store, it’s clean. I usually find what I’m looking for. It’s a little bit expensive. Staff are nice.

Here is a pic of their 30 inch sub sandwich. Everybody at the party said that it tasted so good. Got this from the Big Y in Wallingford for $12.99 and it serves 5-6 people. The cake was really good as well....it was a yellow filling cake.

Store is clean, staff friendly and helpful. Only purchase sale items because it is a little pricey. Highly recommend to people who have deeper pockets than I.

They helped me out whenever I had a big event and made sandwiches really fast and I was able to feed the crew that I had to help out with and they really understand when you need something fast, good, and delicious at a reasonable price. Im thankful that through near our house so Im able to shop there and some more convenient as well and friendly staff and very professional cashiers as well

Brother in law is darker skinned. A white woman in front of us had a bagger, as everyone else. As soon as we stepped up we had to bag our own groceries. There was also several customers not wearing masks, to which we pointed out to several employees but nothing was done. Clean place but the warmest service we received was from the meat counter. We will not be returning.

I love Big Y, I stopped by the deli, and always a good experience there, very helpful employees. Gabrielle at customer service desk is the best, I always enjoy going there to play my numbers when she is working, she is not only kind but so knowledgeable about her job, overall a great experience at the service desk and Big Y.

This is the best supermarket in ct. All the meat is american and so good. Deli is ALWAYS properly staffed unlike all the other supermarkets where u have to take a # and wait a bloody hour. + always easy to find parking and NEVER a big line at checkout. A little more expensive than other markets but worth it. Better food is ALWAYS worth the $s, otherwise youll be giving it to CVS etc

Youd think a grocery store would be able to provide sandwiches that are on THEIR menu. I asked for the sausage sub and was told all they had was the crumble that was used as a pizza topping. They also had no tuna. Both of these items were readily available in the store. Youd think they could do a little shopping in their own store.

All three of these cans were purchased the same day from this BigY. The first two cans I opened had a bad odor and the olives were white and very slimy. The third can (surprisingly) was alright. Clearly seen the best buy date isnt until 2020.. Usually I wouldnt blame the grocery store but these are BigY brand and this is not the first time I have had a problem with food being moldy upon purchase from this store. I do not recommend buying food here unless you want to run the risk of buying mold.

I like this particular store and their layout. Easy to find what you need and hardly ever crowded. Friendly staff, especially at the seafood counter. I prefer going here versus Cheshire or North Haven which are also nice.

Not a fan of Big Y in general because theyre more expensive but love their sushis bar and their meat is always good. They also sometimes have great sales. Another plus is that this Big Y has the quickest checkouts and hardly ever a line and its so clean and well arranged. So therefore this has been my go to store when I want to avoid the crowds.

I would like to say how wonderful this store is. Ever since the pandemic I decided to seek other stores for product availability. Big Y is extremely clean, organized and has quality items. Just their seafood and meat departments alone are enough to entice customers. Every Big Y that I have attended has a calming environment.They don’t look like factories such as Stop and Shop and Shoprite, but have that market feel when you walk in. Furthermore, their frozen aisles have endless items I honestly didn’t know how many solid frozen options there were. They have so many local ice creams they sell as well. However I wish I could make a product suggestion for a particular ice cream and that would be the Boston Cream Ice Cream by Jeni’s if they sold that I would be in heaven. Lastly I feel like I found a hidden gem with Big Y I’m so addicted to this store I selfishly don’t want anyone to know how great it is. Who knew grocery shopping would be so relaxing and not overwhelming. Thanks Big Y making it fun!

I ordered a sub from grubhub. I have gotten large subs for parties before but from a different location and loved them. This was the worse sandwich I ever experienced. The bread was over cooked unsure if they make it themselves but it was hard and dry and tasted burned. Will post picture. I got no mayo or sub sauce salt pepper or anything I requested. It was a very dry sub. I added my fixings and tried to eat it and instantly spit up the bite. The salami is bad. It is hard on the outside and slimey in the middle. Tasted putrid and instantly made me want to vomit. Im sure the salami wasnt good so I threw the the sub away because I cant eat it. So disappointing.

This is a great store but to get the best prices you have to download this app to get digital coupons. And have a good selection although they are a bit higher and they think its some of the other stores do not offer. They have the hunt for where you can have soup and other hot items. The table where you can sit down and eat it if you get tired. They do carry the farmers cow brand of half and half that I like because it is the only brand that is not ultra pasteurized. Im so very glad that they do carry it because it is hard to find. They have very good sales. the customer service is terrific the staff is helpful.

Love the pastries always fresh and almost tastes like home made pastries, no after taste. Good place to shop.

I have been shopping at this Big Y for years. The store is very clean, organized and friendly staff. Their foods are always fresh and they carry a ton of varieties. What I really like is they have an on site sushi chef too who can make dishes to order, in addition to pre made items. I think above all else, is their butcher shop. Their meats are unbeatable. They offer pretty much anything you can think of, and if you dont see it on the shelf, their experienced butchers can help. Their sea food section is great too. Alot of people say theyre expensive, but thats because the overall quality is noticeably better. Theyve also done a fantastic job keeping all of us and their staff safe while shopping during the pandemic. I will never shop anywhere else.

I LOVE Big Y but having just moved to Meriden CT I visited my big y for the 1st time. My bread was marked 2/5.00 on the sign. It rang up 3.69 . I questioned the error. The manager came over said the sign was old but wasnt willing to give it for that sign price. I now have a bad taste for big y Meriden !!

Overall good, went early and a lot of things just starting to get restocked. I would go later next time. Very pleasant check out clerk.

All STORES ARE EXTREMELY CLEAN AND WELL ORGANIZED. THE STORE IS GREAT AND BESIDES WHAT IVE MENTIONED,, IVE BEEN TO BRANFORD,, CHESHIRE & ROCKY HILL BIG YS, I MAY CHECK OUT OTHER BIG Y STORES AS WELL. I LOVE this supermarket! They always have fresh and local cheeses, fruits and veggies. I have gotten 3 cakes made at the bakery and every time they are flavorful, fresh and stunning!!! I have never encountered a rude employee which makes my shopping trips much more enjoyable. :)

I went to the lottery machine and I got a voucher from the machine telling me to go to the service station. When I went to the service station the lady was sitting there. She looked at me and said I already closed for the night. Why would you just sit there 30 mins before you close? Now I have a voucher from yours store machine. Kinda of annoying. I won’t be shopping here anymore

A bit pricier than other grocery stores, however the quality is so much better. The produce is fresh and gorgeous. The butcher counter has drool-worthy steaks and other fresh meats. The bakery....oh the bakery! Cookies and pastries and pie...oh my! Their sour dough bread is real sour dough bread, not some pepperidge farm abomination. Their artisanal breads make any meal fancy. Lots of prepared salads, chicken and more...they look delicious but Ive never had them, so I dont know.. I could go on. NOT your every day market (expensive!), but definitely a go-to for a special dinner or party.

I come back here every now and again, and Im always so pleased its such a clean well kept store. the food is always super fresh. This place is a great place to go, prices are a little higher than Id like to pay, but its a nice place to come.

Definitely one of my favorite places to shop but super expensive. They have one of the best selections though of just about anything you can think of, much better than stop and shop, not quite as good as shop rite. Great people too though

This is the only Big Y Ive ever despised going into. Most of the employees in the meat dept and the sandwich shop are very ornery and seem to hate customer contact of any kind. The guy in the meat dept today 3/18/20 should be working in a warehouse where theres no customers. I received a wiseass answer to a simple question that implied I was stupid for asking. Management really ought to work on the attitude in this store, or toss their bad apples out the door.

Big Y is my favorite grocery store! They always have good sales, offer organic foods, gluten free, and local grown vegetables. Everyone is always so polite, helpful, and friendly, too. Both inside and outside are always very clean. And, I love the small carts ..perfect for when I buy a smaller number of items.

A little more upscale then other grocery stores in the area. Also consequently a little more pricey. The layout of the store makes it fairly easy to find items, and the deli section has a particularly wide range of choices. At checkout, you have the option of playing a digital game at the register which can win you discounts on your purchase.

They hit the mark in a few spots but primarily because they carry lots of lactose/dairy alternative products by request. Deli is much cleaner than Stop and Shops. Meat selection is good and everyone is helpful which is a huge plus.One thing they need to improve is their bagels sorry Big Y but they suck! Also the area with onions has often had gnats. So I still buy bagels and onions elsewhere.

It’s the place in Meriden you’d rather go for most grocery runs if it weren’t so far up Broad Street and the parking lot were less of a nightmare to navigate. That said, it’s a nice, clean little supermarket, though the front end isn’t always as well-staffed as it could be when things are busy. It’s got a decent selection (the produce isn’t particularly mind blowing but it usually gets the job done) and the people who work there are polite. Also Big Y pizza in general is way better than it needs to be, which is a plus.

They have everything possible to BUT U PAY FOR IT! So if UR buying a lot find coupons. Im not dogging on Big Y its just the facts. I can get whatever I want here which is good. Also almost any meat, hot dog etc they carry it

Love Big Y but you can never just go in for a couple things and come out under 15 minutes. No matter what time you go there’s always only 2 registers open and the clerks are sooo slow. Hire more employees and open more registers or have some self checkout lines!!

My fave local big y. Staff always pleasent and helpful. Store is always so clean. Good sales. Def the best big y around. Almost a hidden gem because its never busy.

Beautiful, fresh produce. Store is always very clean and well stocked. We ordered a cake for my daughters birthday and it came out amazing! It was delicious, and I usually dont like cake haha. Everyone working in the store was very friendly!

I shop here all the time and I love taking advantage of the savings with my silver card. I usually have no problem getting in and out while being greeted by the employees and making sure Im taking care of. I can say though that they never have enough registers open. I went to number 9 register today stood there for about 2 minutes and the the girl told me I needed to leave because she was an express lane. Now there was no sign showing this and I told her they should invest in a sign so people know and dont stand here and waste their time. So I can continued down to the next open Lane. After staying there for about 2 minutes the girl told me she was closed while her light was still on and that she was still checking customers out. I went to the only lane after that that was open and was greeted very well and taken good care of by a girl cashiering and a boy bagging. I was very disappointed with the lack of customer service that was displayed today. I even said something in front of the manager and she looked at me and completely ignored me. Very sad that the management here thinks it is okay to have customers treated this way. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because of the last cashier and bagger who helped me. If it wasnt for them this review would be alot worse. Hope yall figure it out and know that you cannot treat customers this way.

I love this store with its friendly staff and great music! It is always clean and the prices are fine..some far less than the big box store down the road in Wallingford. At other stores I usually come out frustrated, but my weekly trip to Big Y is always a pleasure.

Cleanest grocery store ever. Bright and super wide isles. Employees very helpful and you can tell well trained.

I was making a simple, modest, Japanese meal; white rice w/soy sauce and miso soup. Big Y was the 3rd grocery store I went to in the area, before I found everything that I needed. That is to say, if you are also making Asian food of any sort, Id start at Big Y and dont waste your time at the other stores.

Everyone was so helpful to me to find a couple unusual products! Because I use forearm crunches the bagger offered to help get my groceries out and into my vehicle. Now thats going above and beyond!
