We drive this road all the time, and today was the 1st time we ever noticed the sign for this restaurant/ bakery/ meat market. So we flipped around and decided to give it a try. Well hot dang, Im glad we did.As you walk up to the building there are 3 entrances. I wish they had bold vinyl lettering on the door so you know which door is which. We didnt figure it out until we went inside. (All the rooms connect anyways... so no big freak, it would have just been better with clear signage.)* The door all the way to the right is the meat market area. You can purchase meats, sides, sauces, amazing homemade pickles, and jerky. The employees all seem cheerful and hollar out hello as you come in. I really loved this. It gave such a small town family vibe to it and made me want to come back to their store even before purchasing anything. (Amazing customer attention!)* The middle door is their bakery. They offer donuts, pies, breads, sweets and even ice cream. The main gal at the counter around 12:30(on 9/11) was just as sweet, she really sold us on trying many things and again made us feel happy to have come in. When I asked if they offered a military discount the lady back behind the table behind the bakery glass, barked out no! She seemed very rude and her bedside manner if thats what we will call it, was terrible. She must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed. The lady must hate her job; loved the main gal at the counter. She rocked.* The door all the way to the left is the restaurant; the waitress was so kind, gave a very welcoming hello. As we came in we were to seat ourselves, which was nice that we didnt have to wait. The food was so good and large portions. The price was great for what we were served and the quality.The restaurant did have a funky smell to it, couldnt really place what the smell was.Overall, I would totally come back, and I would recommend it to others.For all these reasons Ive given it 4 stars. I would have given it a full 5 stars if it wasnt for the employee with a sour attitude and the strange smell.

First visit here to pick up beef ribs for the smoker. So much meat was cut from between the bones, they werent even connected any more, except at each end of the rib bones. I call these soup bones, not ribs. Big waste of money! I know thats common now, but at least cut less off than a grocery store does..... The ribs at frys are connected in between. Maybe not the best quality, but there is meat on them! The other meats looked good and I am holding out hope for the turkey pot pie I also picked up. I have heard a lot of good about this place. I will try some other things next time.09/14 Update: I added a star as the meat pie was fantastic. I would definitely get one again.I also received the below response from the owner. I havent given up hope and will adjust my review with my next visit. As mentioned, the other meats looked good. I now understand that youre at the mercy of beef ribs you receive. Hopefully you can get some that are meatier.

Called before hand, to see if they had short ribs. Was told yes. When I drove the 25 miles, they only had 1 plate of ribs, the rest was frozen, which didnt do me any good. They wont be seeing my face there again. Ended up going up the road to Chucks fine meats. Glad I did! Chuck is a great guy! The meats he has, He will get my business from now on. I havent even tried the short ribs I bought, but they are prime, so I know they will be excellent!

Stopped in for a early lunch and was kind of taken back by the place. Never been to the Midwest but I could imagine that’s what diners look like there 😂. It was kind of empty which was a bummer because the food and the waiter was very good! Definitely gotta comeback and get some meats next time to take home and cook.

I havent been in one time that someone in the deli knew what to do. Training evidently isnt at the top of their list. Which makes me feel bad for them.

Absolutely the finest, most reasonably priced meat in the area. Great customer service, too. Weve been shopping there for several years and have never been dissatisfied. Were moving from the state soon and this is one of the main things Ill miss.

There is an odd smell when you first walk in. Not like a sour mop, but not pleasant either. Server was very nice. Food came up right away, but had a faint taste of that smell, not horrible, but also not great. Best part was the mashed potatoes and gravy.I probably wont go back.

I went to the restaurant for lunch. Ordered a French dip sandwich. The wait person told me I get to choose my side to go with it. I chose onion rings. The sandwich was delicious. The onion rings were the best I have ever had because they were fresh, not frozen and they have a very light, crispy, non-greasy coating. I also had a coke.The bill was pretty expensive $20.00. I hadnt realized that the side you chose like onion rings or fries or homemade chips cost extra. Most restaurants charge on fee for the meal, plus the coke fee. When the wait person said, choose your side, she should have pointed out the extra cost.The wait person was very attentive and much more professional than at other restaurants so I cant complain.They have their own bakery with all kinds of delicious looking baked goods. They also have their own meat market with all kinds of meat, sausages etc.Very high quality food and service.All the people eating there were in their 50s and older so if you are looking for a hip place this isnt it, but if you want delicious, quality fresh food and great staff, youll like this place.

Friendly and good food. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because every place I get liver & onions, it comes with brown gravy. All they serve here is white. We will be back next month for the huge tenderloin sandwich and more home made potato chips.

This is the best butcher in the East Valley!! Do not go to the local grocer for your meats unless you don’t have taste buds and plan on grilling it until it is burnt. When I walked in there, I was greeted by the meat masters and everyone was smiling and happy. They will cut steaks however thick you want, pre make burgers to whichever weight you want, the list goes on and on. Don’t sell yourself short on a good cut of meat.Put on your jeans, your grilling shoes, and drive on down to Midwestern Meats and let them tell you what you’ll be grilling tonight.They made my Valentine’s Day for my gal amazing! Prepackaged box of awesomeness for $50 and all the prep work was done. The steaks basically grilled themselves. Potatoes and asparagus were the best I’ve ever had.

We were in Saturday 8/21/21. What a great store, bakery, and restaurant. We lived in Iowa previously and we always miss the flavor and goodness of Midwest local meats. This place has it.We were looking for Grazianos sausage from Des Moines and Dutch Letters from Pella, IA, but no luck. That is ok because what they do have is great.

The meat is always top quality and their staff are always friendly and helpful. We always feel welcome at their shop, even when they are busy. Any time we need quality meat, we always come back! Highly recommended!

They have 50 cent Ice Cream Cones...a great treat to top off a meal!

Wanted to split a Patty melt with my mom. They wanted to charge $3.00. I said Ill split it myself. She said there is still a $3.00 charge. We left and went to Wild Berry Diner. No fees there and the sandwich was cheaper and just as tasty. Their loss. Lost a sale and a customer.

Just found this place today and I will keep going back the food is amazing, I had my first grilled liver onions today hadnt had it in over forty years and it was the best prepared just right and onion rings are beer-battered not greasy very delicious I would give this a hundred and 10% and well keep going back

This place is a bakery a restaurant and old-school butcher and is some of the best service Ive ever gotten it is definitely worth visiting it has a family atmosphere and yet feels adult at the same time the bakery is very fresh the butcher has some of the freshest Meats available. Not every visit has been without a hitch, but theyre always able to fix any problems without any hesitation and are always wanting to make you a hundred percent satisfied with whatever you purchase at any of the three stores that are incorporated into this one business. Its medium priced, but if you go and look for the right deals on the right days you can save a ton of money for the freshest restaurant quality food and still be able to go next door to the bakery and butcher to get stuff for later at home. Great concept great people great ownership and quality thats lacking in most businesses these days I will be back as many times as I can afford.

Be aware.I rather go to Walmart than here for better and safer product.Bakery is the best thing they have there. And they can make you an exclusive cake to impress anyone.

Ive been coming here and recommending this place for several years. Recently I had an issue with a product I bought. Never happened before. I called the store just to give them a heads up and the lady who answered was very nice and promised she would pass along the info to the manager. The manager herself called me and insisted on making it right, even though that was not the intent of my call. Thats the kind of place this is. They care. Price, quality, and customer service are second to none.

For a couple years now Ove been wanting to visit Midwestern Meats, the market side. Well some acquaintances warned me it was excessively expensive poor quality you have to buy in bulk. Well were they WRONG!Fantastic quality, great prices and the service was friendly and accommodating. I will NEVER, I repeat NEVER buy meats in a grocery store again. I purchased 3 chicken leg quarters, 1# bacon, 2# gr. Round, a single serve cheesecake, an eclair and a creme horn for $22. FANTASTIC!If you have not been you gotta go! Especially if you are used to buying from local meat markets back home. Shopping at a meat market is a nostalgic experience, makes this big whirlwind city seem a little more cozy.Cant wait to bring the grandkids for a personal shopping experience.Keep up the tradition!

Customer service is good at this butcher shop. The staff are helpful and friendly. The food is good, with a nice selection to choose from. Do yourself a favor and try their beef pot pie. Its reasonably priced, very filling and tastes very good too.

It has to be very flavorful and cooked perfectly for me to enjoy otherwise I don’t eat meat very often. I saw a video online about prime rib and I’d never had that before. So I went on google maps looking for a butcher shop to buy some to make at home. I happened upon Midwestern Meats and saw that they had a restaurant with good reviews. Why mess up expensive beef at home when I can have it made for me by someone who knows what they’re doing??? So my husband and I went that very evening. I tried my very first prime rib and I am so happy it was here. It was so delicious and I will keep coming back and probably get the same thing that’s how much this non meat eater loved it. Oh and don’t get me started about the onion rings! The best I’ve ever had and my husband and I have had many kinds of “homemade” onion rings. Keep doing what you’re doing. I want to get more people my age (30s) to come to this place. It looked to be a favorite of my parents generation but more people need to know about this place.

The whole experience at this price point was unwelcoming and rushed. Until it was time to pay, then the wait was endless.. $66 later I’ll go elsewhere. New to the area and certainly will find another quality butcher to spend my $$

Very disappointed in the bread dept. There was literally no white or rye on the shelves. The girl in the bakery area was new and didnt know anything..she was evading customers ..Im guessing that she was not being trained well and the manager was no where around..I looked for the manager myself and no one could find her. This poor girl was on her own with NO help. We have lived here for 40 years and been going here for at least 20. Been hearing complaints about lack of service in the dining area as well as some meats especially the brats were not up to par. Hope this isnt a sign its goi g downhill in quality of goods and service but time will tell soon. The guys in the meat dept are very good withserving customers.

After many visits over the past year Midwestern Meats has not failed to deliver on quality and price. Their selection is vast amd includes an attached bakery with fresh made goods and bread.

The prices seem $$ but the quality is great... a good place to impress a date with your bank roll.

I was also assisted by a gentleman whose name I did capture (he had glasses and gauges in his ears)...he helped load my car and was super professional and very friendly. Overall great experience and will definitely go back...even with the 40 minute drive to get there...lol

The customer service was excellent and the food was delicious ! I felt very comfortable eating inside with this covid 19 going on we were all social distance from our tables and everyone one in the restaurant had their masks on at all times along with making sure it was clean and sanitized. Weekly shopper and I got to say Midwestern meats doesnt change.Upon entry several voices greet you from every direction.Proceed to the wall of meat. Choose 2 fillets 2 ribeyes 2 New York strips 2 lb of ground round and of course the applewood smoked bacon.Trip to Midwestern Meats always includes the ice cream cone. 2 for $1.The meat is exceptional.

I loved coming here until my last 3 visits. I understand with everything going on in the world today is stressing but 3 times I have had terrible customer service. It was like I was a bother to wait on. I have no complaints regarding the products I just the service.
