The food and drinks are delicious! The staff is nice & friendly! The place is clean, the furniture is nice and I really appreciate how much care and attention they put into my order.
Woah!! Best sandwiches EVER! And the gooey cake is a must. Incredible service, and so clean. Happy people who love where they work!
Love this place! They have some of the best cookies in Mesa!!! The clothes here are cute and we love the sticker collection they offer for our hydro flask bottles! It can be a bit pricey depending on what your buying, thats why I am giving only 4 stars.
So bummed. This used to be one of my go-to downtown MESA lunch spots. Yummy salads, sandwiches and soups, plus cookies that were to die for! Now it’s only cookies. I used to order cookies for all events and they were always super accommodating with a couple days notice. Now, at least a week notice is required. Tried calling all morning to place an order but the line was not in service, had to drive over just to find out that they wouldn’t be able to help. I miss the old sweet cakes.... but good news for anyone who loves their sandwiches, you can get most of them at Bread Basket a little further east.
BEST bakery in Arizona! This little gem has been a favorite of mine for years! I use them for all of my marketing gifts for my business and they are always a HUGE hit! I love their sugar cookies, five-layer brownies and their delicious soups (Broc Cheese!). I use several companies around the valley for marketing but Sweet Cakes is my favorite. Every single time I drop off Sweet Cake Cookies I get an immediate response from my customers.
Cookies and cinnamon rolls here are to die for! Custom baskets can be made if you request. This is THEE place to go to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Best day of my life.Cookies are my weakness. This cookie was the size of my face.I ate it and then was in a sugar coma.Perfect buttery and delicious.I have never been happier in my life.Thank you.10/10 would recommend.
Ive been looking for a local bakery for a while now. This popped up on google so I decided to stop by. I bought the giant oatmeal creme pie and omg it was delicious. They had a bunch of stuff to choose from too! I def will go back to check out the rest of the goodies they have. Not to mention the store its within has some cool things to purchase too.
It was an early Friday morning and we were the only ones there, but I liked the place. Its not overly fancy and decorated, but the gal at the counter was pretty friendly. The oatmeal coconut cookies were fabulous! And heres the funny thing I liked the most: they were listening to Disney music back in the kitchen and once in a while I could hear them sing to it. When I was a pastry chef, the other gals and I would do the same exact thing!Good food, pleasant atmosphere. Go try a cookie!
Used to be a great bakery. Now its a marketplace first and bakery second. Baked goods arent as tasty as before and seating is limited because of all the merchandise crowding the store. You can find some pretty unique farmhouse decor, though.
Simple enviro-themed jewelry & gift shop, with a bakery in the back. Tempting treat on a window-shopping stroll of historic Mesa.
Used to love coming here. Not as much of a fan of the new concept. Stopped by last weekend and still enjoy the sweets okay, but not sure Ill be in a rush to return anytime soon.
Cute little spot! This place has the potential to be super popular! Four small changes would make it perfect: funkier art on the walls, louder/better background music, real plates and silverware instead of plastic, and add gluten free & vegan options to the menu!
The staff here is incredibly nice! We showed up 15 minutes after they had closed and were standing outside trying to figure out where to go to get a snack. The girl working today came to the door and asked us if we needed anything. She let us in to buy our cookies even though shes already closed up the shop! Id been promising my niece she could get a Sweet Cakes cookie for weeks, you made her day! Thank you!
My colleague turned me on to this place for their sugar cookies, but I actually enjoyed their turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce Yum! And the sugar cookies are good.
This place has an amazing assortment of fresh cookies and giant cinnamon rolls. Their broccoli cheese soup is my favorite thing to get; you can get it in a bowl made of Styrofoam or a breadbowl. The only complaint I have is that Sweet Cakes does not open until 9am, and is closed on Mondays. They have a full soda fountain which I like.
The 5-layer brownie will change your life
Sweet cakes has wonderful cookies, brownies and other goodies. Just get there early or they will be sold out ☺️
Love this place, I go here whenever I can to eat their sweets. My favorite is the sugar cookie!
One of the best places to eat in Mesa. Great for lunches or just a great desert. The homemade deserts are amazing. Nice atmosphere and the staff is great.
I usually dont complain much about restaurant or bakery.. but I must say I have seen better. Its a cute little spot. Price is over what I would pay. Ordered just a salad.. nothing special, cost me a little over 4 dollars. Not just the price but the quantity of food. Could of gotten more at Wendys for the same price. Its an ok place. I was expecting cupcakes, there was NONE!!!!!!!
A great family own place! so far everything weve tried its been absolutely delicious and its located in the same space as not your typical Deli which is such a perfect pairing!
Featured on TLCs Best Food Ever, Sweet Cakes Cafe is a popular spot in Downtown Mesa for everything sweet. They have some of the best homemade cookies around, reasonably priced too. Theres more than cookies, however. Sweet Cakes offers a great selection of lunch items too. Salads, soups, and sandwiches; theyre all pretty darn good. The only negative I would say would be the hours of operation. Closed on Mondays and Sundays and open only until 4pm, its difficult when you want to satisfy those nighttime cravings.
Friendly staff and awesome baked goods. Their cinnamon roll baskets make great gifts around the holidays.
The food was far too expensive for the quality of the dish. There was nothing unique offered here that made it special or desirable over other places of its kind. Granted, I only got a sandwich and soup, but I felt robbed when I saw that I could have made a better sandwich for an eighth of the price. Paying for convenience is one thing, but there wasnt much convenience when I was regretting the amount of money I paid for this forgettable food. I would not go back, nor would I recommend it to others.
I was slightly disappointed that they no longer have sandwiches. The service and cookies were great.
I love the customer service from Clark. He is very handsome and a delight to speak with. His smile is the sweetest thing on the menu! XOXO Clark
The firs thing that comes to my mind when I think about Sweet Cakes is Clark Reed. Handsome, friendly and delicious. The total package. Sometimes I dont even eat but just come for the great conversation with Clark.
I had seen this place on TLC for supposedly having a uniquely amazing cinnamon roll. Seriously, I have no clue where the networks get their recommendations because Ive had a comparable cinnamon roll out of a can made by Pillsbury.
Love this place, best cookies in town and I love their salads. They are always very nice.
Absolutely delicious French dip sandwich & the cinnamon rolls are the best in the valley hands down.
I have heard that the soup was delicious so I came in today and ordered a broccoli and cheese soup. I watched a lady in the back put it in the microwave in the styrofoam cup and microwave it then put it in a bag and handed it to me. I am not one to complain and make a big deal so I took it but had to throw it away. I am very disappointed I was ok paying a little more for better quality but I dont want to eat all those chemicals that leach into it. I will never come back!
Why would you say youre open when youre not open?
Always friendly and their sweets are top notch. Their food is standard deli food and priced average for their location. But their goodies is where it is at.
Delicious treats. I love this place.
Sweet rolls to die for. Delicious sandwiches. Fresh, friendly help.
Great food. The 5-Layer Brownie is amazing.
Ive been here and its amazing theyve got the best chocolate chip cookies and amazing lemonade I also love that it is sharing a wall and door to a cute boutique so I can shop and get a snack !!!!! ☺️
Gooey desserts, too sweet. If you like things meant for childrens pallettes, then this place is for you.
No longer a cafe, only a corner of the clothing/accessory store is the bakery, and they have a limited menu.
Best cookies ever!
If your looking for a crappy little place to grab something to eat, this isnt the place. There prices are a little high for what you get but I love there French dip sandwich. And there snickerdoodles.
Yum, I had a five layer brownie that was amazing, coffee was pretty darn good also.
Love this place! Great food and good people.
The most amazing cookies, baked goods, and food!!!! I highly recommend Sweet Cakes!!!!!
Tasty stuff, neat area
This place has more than just the best sugar cookies in the world......they also have amazing sandwiches.....cheap too! But yes, nothing compares to their baked goods!!!!
Friendly & made with fresh baked bread.
September 2012. Awful. Paid $9 for a french dip au jus. No fries, no drink, just the sandwich, a pickle, and a cookie. The sandwich was very off. Yesterday was my first and last time eating here.
Great sandwiches and the best cookies.
Delicious chocolate chip cookies :)
Good giant cookies, cheap.
I like them a lot but hours are bad and never have what i like always im sorry out
Cute store, with yummy cookies!
Not much of selection, but the cookies were good
