Based off the first couple visits I made to Thomas Sewing Center, I thoroughly loved it. The amount of quality fabric and numerous types of sewing, quilting and sewing, quilting and embroidery machines is vast. They recently had a big turn around in personnel for the better, and now I enjoy the environment even more! They have a wide range of classes from sewing, quilting to embroidery! There is something for everyone! Go see for yourself!
I bought a sewing machine from this store, and the people were super helpful and kind to me, answering any questions I had. They had an awesome lay-away program, so I could buy a machine that I would have had to put on credit to purchase. However, the layaway kept me from paying high interest charges. They offered to train me after I got my machine and gave all kinds of helpful hints and advice. I will say, many of the sales reps were older women, and their playful bickering was entertaining and funny. It made me feel like I was visiting my grandma and aunt. I can shopping for an embroidery machine now and wouldn’t go anywhere else but here.
The one and only Thomas sewing my goodness calling all Crafts People we still have the dynasty of Thomas sewing available.... get there all you was antique sewing machines mr. Jerry can get them running you got a question about anything from threads to embroidery machines and everything in between please go there have some fun you might even see me there trying to learn how to install a zipper !! The only thing I dont like is all this Tunnel Vision on computer machines they are not the answer...
Absolutely horrible. Called first to get a ballpark price on servicing a Baby Lock 6 spool embroidery machine. $129.00. Okay, no problem. Dropped the machine off in January. Called several times to check status. We are waiting on a part. After 4 MONTHS, finally got the machine back. Apparently Thomas Sewing Center has to wait 120 days for a foot from the mfg, but I got one from Amazon in two days. Oh, and the price?$398.00. Sold the machine to an acquaintance and the very first time it was powered up, the computer is stuck in hat mode and needs servicing. What a joke of a company.
Purchased demo machine here over a year ago. Started having problems within a few days. After taking it back 3 or 4 times we finally gave up and put it in a closet. A few days ago wife had problem with another machine she was using so took it to Advance Sewing in Allen Tx. We told him about the experience we had with Thomas Sewing and he said bring machine in and he could fix it. We did and he instantly saw the problem. He opened the machine and it was filthy. My wife had only sewed a few hours so apparently the machine had never been cleaned. He cleaned it and did the repair. Works great. Wish we had went to him long ago. Will never purchase from Thomas sewing again and will never have machine service by them. Giving one star only because I cant give 0.
Thomas Sewing Center wants the money then will not support their customers needs. Bought a long arm quilter several months back and it took for ever to get the complete machine. Several phone calls and several lies and no respect I contacted Mr Thomas and this situation was taken care of. Dumb me bought my wife the computer upgrade for this quilter for her birthday a month ago and the same routine started all over. Still no computer upgrade but being told over night tomorrow. I think people need to no what kind of service some people get, it could be you.I could not find a reply button for the response below so I will post it here.I expect when a company employee tell me something it should be the truth. When I am told It will be sent overnight here and it will be put in the mail overnight to you that should happen. When it doesnt we should be contacted an told what is happening, not having to call and being told I will check on it and call you back. The call backs never happen. When the first unit arrived it was not for our machine. This started the game over. Now the parts have to be ordered from somewhere, made and then shipped to you to ship to me.I was never told this, I had to read it here. All along this process I have not seen any of the customer concern you are talking about. I am guessing the philosophy of Mr Thomas is not carried on in todays business. I have no problem telling the world how we have been treated by you all and apparently you had rather address it here.
Great buys now on sewing machines and embroidery machines. Sale fabric available. Lots of notions for Jamome. Classes available. Quilt fabric in stock.
One of the best, dont miss Quilt shops. They have material, notions, machines of every kind, classes every day. I LOVE this shop. Knowledable staff.
Awesome owners and staff...make you feel welcomed and do their best to meet your needs
I bought my Janome sewing machine a couple years ago. (Actually bought 2, one for me and one for my daughter-in-law). I have always had my machine serviced at Thomas. Had a problem with my machine and took in for service. Cost $149 in April 2016...called to let them know problem was not fixed. When I took my machine back to have them look at problem again AND to have regular yearly check, I was told the repair from before was not under warranty and I would have to pay the to have it repaired again along with the yearly checkup it would have cost approx.$300! VERY RUDE and condescending person waiting on me. Do NOT do business with them. Always rude to customers and I will NEVER walk into that store again!
Terrible customer service. Maybe just who was helping me, but the lady cutting fabric could not use the rotary cutter straight, couldnt remember how much fabric I asked her to cut, took a 10 minute personal cell phone call while helping me, and I had to remind her how much the fabric was that was on sale. I asked if there was another employee who could help me faster, as I had someone waiting for me. Finally got off her cell phone and was immediately interrupted by another associate who had a question, so she dropped all my stuff to go help another customer! I left. I never leave a fabric store without paying for my cuts, but it was that, or reach across the counter and slap her!
Im pretty sure I was visiting Lifeway Christian store next door.
Had my machine serviced here and Pete the service tech was beyond professional, helpful and a wealth of informaton on my sewing machine.
This is a great place to buy a machine or to get help on any sewing project that you need. I have been going to the store for over 25 years and they never disappoint me.
I love this store! Every salesperson I came in contact with had been so helpful. Thanks so much for fixing my problems!!
A great quilt shop very friendly people.
Thomas had the best reviews of the local janome dealers but I couldnt be more disappointed. I had done plenty of research and drove a long way to try out a few machines and ask questions. I want a mechanical machine, I enjoy turning the handwheel and adjusting knobs etc. I work as a network engineer for a living and on my off-hours I enjoy mechanical things (I also take apart vintage machines and bring them back to life, and drive stick)The sales lady continually cut me off everytime I tried to tell her what I wanted in a machine, what I disliked about my current machine etc. She was downright rude when I refused to sit down and allow her to show me how much id love a computerized machine. When I asked her (I already knew the answer) if vertical bobbins were less picky and prone to issues than horizontal she told me that vert bobbins were terrible (false!), claimed that the HD1000 machine was a hancocks only machine (false, hancocks doesnt carry it!) and they would never carry it, she also told me that all the mechanical machines were not very good, and I should get over my fear of computers and try a computerized sewing machine (ROFLMAO!)Only redeeming part of the visit was the owner had lined the shop with lovely vintage sewing machines, which I collect as well.I commented to sales lady about the featherweight and she told me oh, that old thing? it only makes straight stitches and *sniff* my computerized janome is so much better!(Tell that to the hoardes of quilters who swear by featherweights straight stitch!)I am also in the market for a coverstitch machine, but I wont go back there again...they lost my buisness, and I nearly lost my temper.
Great staff and mean repair skills.
Super store for the quilter. So sad to see them close this spring.
Sorry to see them go.. YES THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS
Never been in there went to Life way next door.
My machine was embroidering when I took it there for service. Now it does not work. They do not want to be responsible for the problems they created. Told me that there was no warranty on the work this time. Not to bring my machine back.
Everything is 75% off until the final day, Saturday.
Pretty weak. Not very friendly unless youre a regular. Was wanting to buy a Brother Dream Machine 2, but purchased it elsewhere. I wont go back.
Nice place
