My daughter and I both bought vehicles from these guys in late 2019 because my husband knows the owner so we thought they would be trustworthy. But both of us have had major issues with our vehicles. The brakes on my daughters 2008 car exploded after only driving it for three months—she could have died. Aren’t used car dealers supposed to take the brakes apart and replace worn brakes prior to selling a vehicle??And I have to repair the transmission on my 2016 vehicle after driving it less than 8k miles. The mechanics at a Honda service center suspect flood or other sort of water damage on my car. This was never disclosed. The salesman, Brian, knew I was in a tight financial spot and told me this was the ONLY vehicle I could get. I needed a car ASAP.At the end of the day, we did sign the papers. But, seriously, shouldn’t we be able to trust one of Madison’s biggest used car shops not to sell damaged vehicles? I guess not. This place sells damaged vehicles to people in tight financial situations. They are the epitome of the Used Car Salesman. Don’t buy your car from them.

Great group of people who have worked with my family for a long time. Yesterday, (07/19/21) my boyfriend and I went and test drove a Toyota RAV4. A few days prior to us going to the dealership, we had gotten in contact with one of their ‘salesmen,’ Charlie. That was our first mistake. We expressed to him our interest in coming and test driving a few cars and that we would be there in the next few days. We also contacted him the day we would be arriving and he said that he would be there all day. We arrived and were greeted by a woman named Toni who ended up helping us. She was very helpful and helped us find a car the fit our needs and was exactly what we were looking for. She was very friendly and professional. She let us test drive other cars while waiting for financing to be run, it was taking awhile since their system was down. While we were test driving cars we kept seeing two men driving around in a golf cart, one of them was Charlie. After we got all of the paperwork signed and got the keys to the car, my boyfriend and I went to the bathroom before leaving. Charlie followed my boyfriend into the bathroom and was basically interrogating him asking why he never asked for him by name and why we chose Toni instead. My boyfriend tried to explain to Charlie that Toni was the first person we saw and the only person that greeted us when we got there and we felt comfortable with her. Charlie never made any attempt to say hi to us or ask if we needed help. He decided to ride around in the golf cart for the entire time we were there, which was a good three hours. Then come this morning, (07/20/21), Charlie was non stop calling and texting my boyfriend again asking why we never brought up his name, which was false because we were asked who had helped us and we not only said Toni but also put down Charlie’s name. My boyfriend again tried to explain that he ignored us the whole time we were there and Toni seemed to be the only person interested in helping us. Charlie basically ignored what my boyfriend was trying to relay to him and threw a huge temper tantrum. Later on today my boyfriend called Toni trying to ask her what was going on and why he was getting non stop calls and texts from Charlie, all while my boyfriend is trying to work, and when Toni was trying to talk to him, someone ripped the phone out of her hands and said everything was fine and hung up. Again my boyfriend called Toni on the personal line she had given to us the previous day and Toni informed us that she had been FIRED. Charlie is very unprofessional and honestly gave off the impression that he didn’t care about making a sale that day and he was lazy. If he wanted to make a sale he should have standing at the entrance like Toni was and greeted us. Instead he decided to slack off. It is horrible, unjust, and unfair what they did to Toni and you cannot convince me for one second that her being fired was just coincidence. We will never be returning. We were talking about coming back the following week and looking at a car for me that we had found and really liked. Now we will not be. We suggest you take your business to somewhere more professional and to a business that cares more for their staff than making a quick buck for doing absolutely nothing. I would give zero stars if I could.

We test drove an Audi S4 and within half a mile, we got a tire pressure warning. We pulled over and noticed a bubble in the tire so we immediately turned around and notified the salesman. With negotiation, we were still interested in the car as long as the tire situation would get resolved. They agreed to take $2000 off in order for us to get a new set of tires, so we told them we would be in touch. We came back a few days later to put an offer in after getting approved for a loan. They did not want to budge at all on the price and then said they would only take $700 off for tires despite our previous agreement. For an S4, the average set of quality tires is between $1,200-1,600. The salesman even told us that other people have walked away from this specific car because they chose a cheaper option. The manager was very stubborn and other reviews back this up. So of course we walked away without the car. Then a couple days ago we noticed they INCREASED the price of the car. Seems to be the wrong thing to do if you’re trying to sell a car that’s been sitting on the lot for over a month and a half. We will no longer be doing business with this dealership.

Worst customer service you can find. They do not stand behind the vehicles they sell. Havent even made third payment, check engine light comes on. Bring it to them and they told me I had to pay out of pocket. Good place to go for junk!

We purchased a 2016 Honda Odyssey from Schoepp and within 2 months it needed a new engine. They covered the cost of the majority of the repairs, but the entire situation was frustrating and we will never return. Two different members of management told me on two separate occasions when I was upset that our new-to-us van needed a new engine, we dont have a crystal ball we cant know when cars are going to break down. Thats just the used car business. So it makes you wonder, how many times do they need to say that to people? I also found it rude given the context because I was very upset and they seemed to not care whatsoever. The service and sales teams lacked any empathy for the situation and were a pain to try to get any information from. They were extremely nonchalant about the fact that it took them weeks to diagnose the issue and then weeks to fix it when I was told it would take a week. I had heard bad things about Schoepp from others and was hoping those were just the outliers, but I think these issues are pretty common with them and I have zero desire to work with them in the future for sales or service.

SHADY. Ran our credit with different banks before even asking us or having us sign the release- I let that go and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Then they were requesting more than I wanted to pay. I stated MULTIPLE times I did not want to go over this price. Then stated we were denied through our credit union which preapproved us, attempting to get us to work with their partner credit union. Moved us around multiple times to make room for other customers. Gave us a car report stating the vehicle only had two owners, when there were clearly MULTIPLE owners from Canada on the same sheet. This place was a joke. Worst customer service I have seen in a long time.

Not the greatest place. The cars we looked at had significant scuffs on the outside and funny smells on the inside. Yet they were still a little over a grand above what other dealers had similar vehicles priced at. The guy that we worked with never ended up giving us his name either.I would have to be really motivated to go back, and even then I don’t think I would.

Contact them through car guru which my email is blocked by them so I can’t leave a review on that site.At first seemed like a good place to get a car from but when I asked for a walk around video of the truck since I was four hours away he didn’t really know what I was talking about. Finally got a FaceTime walk around and unfortunately it was a bad reception and Video was grainy. We agreed on a price and was suppose to meet half way to pick up the truck and was told we can’t find two people to drive it there. Which I found out it was a lie from a different sales person. Also he kept trying to get me to pay for it before I saw the truck and I was like what happens if it not what you say it is and all i got it’s in real good shape you don’t need to worry and that check was my safety net well I drove the 4 hours one way to buy it and when I saw the truck you can tell it was hit and fixed poorly in two spots they also very poorly fixed a ton of rick chips and then buffed it out real bad. I tried to show him what I found and he couldn’t care less and denied it was hit or fixed. The black paint that was running down part of the front bumper says it was fixed.Do not buy from this dealer very poor quality cars and scamish car salesmen. Lied to me the whole time.This was on a $51,000 truck and ad said 41,xxx miles and when I got there it had about a 1000 miles more on it. I also ask about a extended warranty a few time with no answer so I asked one more time and I got well most mechanics don’t buy them so I didn’t ask. Finally the finical person called me and I had to ask her about and knew nothing about me asking about it.

Standard big box used car dealership, decent vehicles at a decent price with shady salesman trying to get them out the door as fast as possible. Dealer lied to me about the loan APR they would give me as well as the final sales prices of the vehicle. Come with as much preapproval as you can muster, and try to minimize your time spent and money wasted

So not a great story, I bought a USED 2008 Mini Cooper S from this dealer ship. The marked off the paper work that everything was good, no issues aside from the rear hatch not manually opening, no other known issues.After about a week of driving I noticed plums of white smoke when I would sit at stop lights. The Intake side of the turbo had a bad seal and was throwing oil into the intake manifold. *The Air cooler was an oil cooler at this point*. After 2 weeks I noticed the dash bored lights were having issues and the alternator was shot. They said they replaced the thermostat, but when I replaced the turbo, it was the factory thermostat and water pipe (Thermostat is built into the housing). The car also has a pull to the left and the cooling fan does not work.Overall not a great job by them on checking the car, I feel pretty lied to and will not use this dealership again.

Charlie and Schoepp were great to do business with. No BS. Very responsive. And came up with a great car deal for me. I’ve bought and sold a lot of cars, both as a salesperson (years ago) and a consumer. I’ve never had a better experience (including as a salesperson) than I did with Charlie and at Schoepp. Negotiations were easy and straightforward. They got the car ready for me when I arrived. And had me in and out of the dealership within maybe 1.5 hours (a remarkably quick time). Patrick was also helpful and responsive getting things going. And Scott in finance was great as well. I truly can’t recommend Charlie and the dealership enough.

I walked in expecting to just see the car and maybe drive it. When I left, I was driving my (new) used 2017 Ford Fiesta. Russell went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and kept giving me updates throughout all the preliminary paperwork. If the heat had been working, it would have been my favorite car-buying experience. Obviously I was pleased with Russell and the overall car purchasing experience - I gave him five stars!!

We didnt buy a vehicle at Shoepp Motors Middleton but I am writing my review for our salesperson Charlie. He did a great job showing us vehicles we wanted to look at and other vehicles that he thought might be a good fit. Out of all of the dealerships I visited during this buying experience, Charlie was by far the best salesperson that I worked with. I really wish there would have been a good fit for us there.

We bought two vehicles today and the sales people Patrick and Katlynn and the finance person Donna were all fantastic. Everyone was very helpful and professional. We bought a car for my wife and one for my daughter a 2017 Chevy & a 2015 Ford and could not be happier with the experience. I am going to buy a different vehicle in two years and will go back for that purchase. The prices were very good and we compared with and shopped six other dealerships in the Madison area.

Carmine was very knowledgeable about the different cars they had available. He was very much aware of my budget and the fact that I didnt have great credit he was able to find the perfect car within my budget.We spoke on the phone and he figured out everything with finance and even had a car picked out for me to try. I was able to leave with the new car that day. I had called other dealerships and they never got back to me. I never felt pressure with Carmine and I could tell that he truly wanted to help me get a good car at a good price.

This is my third vehicle purchased with Schoepp Motors, and I will continue to buy my vehicles from them in the future. We arrived at the shop knowing exactly what car we were interested in. We were there very early in the morning and the whole team was in a sales meeting, but Dave came out to help us right away. It was a frigid morning and the car was covered with ice. Dave brought it into the service bay right away so we could see it and sit in it, etc. Dave came along on our test drive and was able to address our questions about vehicle history to our liking. He is super easy to work with and we found him to be trustworthy quite quickly. When we returned from our test drive Dave had the car completely dried off so we could inspect it’s condition without water and ice. I feel Dave really did everything he could to ensure we were comfortable with the vehicles condition. We negotiated briefly and reached a dealer quickly. The car came with only 1 key, and Dave went above and beyond to ensure we could get a second key. All-in-all, great experience with Dave Gress at Schoepp on the West side.

I would not recommend Schoepp MotorsThe salesman that I worked with was nice enough originally. He offered me a great deal on the same model car I was looking at but with less mileage on it and I almost fell for it. He didnt want to ask Mr. Schoepp for permission but forgiveness when giving me this deal! Lol.Once I told him that I was not ready to sign anything however, he became pushy and rude. He evaded my questions relating to the history of the cars. He basically negged me when he figured out I wasnt buying - implying he didnt need my sale because May was the best month hes had all year. As I was leaving I told him I appreciated his time and he literally said I know you do. Okay dude.I looked up the CarFax later and learned that the car with fewer miles on it had been in an accident. Cool!It was comical how many stereotypical used car salesman tricks he tried but I am happy I went elsewhere. Found a better deal on a nicer car with much nicer salespeople at a different dealership.

I bought an Audi Q5 and am not impressed. I would think if you spend $20,000 plus dollars they would at least detail your car. I found a cigarette under the seat, did not bother to remove the stickers from the windows and the sales team working with me was awful. Suck

I had a great experience at Schoepp motors. Contacted them through the website early on a Sunday morning and even though they were closed, someone followed up with me telling me the vehicle I was interested in was still available. Early the following morning I had an appointment scheduled for after work. Worked with Patrick and he was great- we had been shopping at other car lots in the past week and he was the only car salesman that did not seem pushy and did not pressure us. The process was really smooth and Patrick was willing to work with his manager to lower the payments to the range we wanted. We felt very comfortable with Patrick and at Schoepp. Have only had the car a few days, but as far as my experience I am very pleased!

Nathan was recommended to me by a friend. I now see why. He was incredibly helpful and easy to deal with. He found me exactly what I was looking for along with an incredible rate on a loan. We stopped by just to look at vehicles and see what was out there. the car salesman came out and asked us to come inside and said it would take 10 minutes to tell us what we could get for our current vehicle. Of course we were there for over two hours!! We ended up finding a truck we liked. We specifically asked how it would effect our credit if we didnt actually end up financing, because we were in the process of buying a home and didnt want anything on our credit score from this. He went to ask the finance manager and came back and said it would be a soft hit, so no effect on our actual credit. We ended up not buying any vehicle, but over a month later and we have had over 15 CREDIT HITS! We are still getting letters in the mail. It dropped our credit a decent amount and I am beyond pissed off. I will never do business with these people and tell our story to everyone we know. It was VERY SHADY of them and they should get in trouble for lying about that. THANKS FOR NOTHING.

I originally went on the lot with no intentions of purchasing but after working with Jamil, I realized this was as good as it got. He was very genuine in everything he told us. We told him what we wanted and he found something that fell within our parameters. Im very happy with him and everybody should come see him. He also calls you a couple days later to ensure that everything is still running smoothly.

2 stars because...Positively:*Was willing and motivated to work with price*Non-functional features of vehicle were disclosed.Negatively:*I came pre-approved with my credit union and made it clear I didn’t want my credit sent anywhere else. Finance manager sent information to a bank that was open past the hours of my credit union. Did not ask me, and didn’t inform me of this until after the deal was done. I suspect this was because it was Labor Day and numbers were important.*Hard credit inquiry still exists on my credit report one year later.*Salesman did not understand why interest rate mattered to me.Unfortunately I’d put Schoepp in the category with most other dealerships that puts sales above customer service.

If I could rate 0 I would, very disappointment I purchased my car here, 2017 Nissan Maxima LSIts was a fews scratches on the car, but before we close the transaction Charlie Condon and I verbally we agreed dealer give me an appointment to fix it all way around, So last Tuesday I when to the dealer shop waited 3 hours and nothing was done. Not sure why, apparently this dealership they only want sale cars n that all, dont care about customers satisfaction, very careful if you are thinking get a car from this dealership

Our salesman, Jake Walsh, was friendly and honest. He helped us try to fit a wheelchair into maybe a dozen or so models, and gave us an overview on the differences between them. The test drive was with a different salesman who wasnt nearly as good. We closed the sale very efficiently with Jake and Marty, and got a very good deal on the car. A positive experience!

Was not impressed with my sales person didn’t know anything about the vehicles and what they could do. Also I asked about the Carfax they told me it was clean without even showing it to me.I’m enjoying my new vehicle but don’t know if I would go back there to buy another one.

While happy with the car I was driving I wanted to move to a small SUV for driving on winter roads as we live in a somewhat rural area. In addition to doing online research on the models that fit my needs and wants, I decided to drive through area lots to see what is available and it was during my lot-shopping trip at Schoepps that a salesman approached me. We talked about what I was looking for and he gave me a business card. He explained that he actually worked at a different location, but would give my information to Larry and he gave me Larrys phone number. Larry called me two days later to check in with me and I told him that my husband and I were going to be coming to the lot that day. He asked what vehicles Id like him to warm up (it was 24 degrees!) and have ready. When we arrived, the vehicles were ready and I drove two before making my decision. Larrys knowledge and ability to explain so I could understand the all-wheel/front-wheel drives, etc., and the 4 cylinder vs 6 cylinder for my needs was impressive! The title/financial piece was easy and painless, too. The bottom line is that I purchased a new car with the function, low mileage and price I wanted. The four new tires that had been put on the car & three free oil changes were a bonus!

Polite and good salesman service. Not too pushy. But BAD QUALITY vehicles. FYI ALWAYS check under the hood and body of vehicles you are interested in before you fall in love with it. I looked at a couple the other day and they were only 2 year old vehicles yet they were riddled with rust. One had rust on the frame that someone tried to hide with black undercoat of paint. The painted rust was obviously flaking off. Along with a faulty passenger airbag sensor. Likely caused by shorting out due to water damage. Then another vehicle had severe rust on vital bolts and belts under the hood. There were tons of sand and dirt under the hood as well. The rest of that vehicle was fine but under the hood scared me. Im worried that they may have taken in many vehicles that were effected by the severe flooding we had in Wisconsin.

Pretty easy going, good service, Great vehicles to choose from with awesome prices.I must say, for as pain staking as car shopping can be, Nick made it a pleasurable experience. I was treated with respect and felt that all of my questions were answered. I would not hesitate to reccomend this dealership to anyone that is in need if a vehicle.

Carmine was very helpful and was sensitive to what I was looking for. He didnt try to push me into a car I didnt want like other dealers I have experienced I have already told all my friends about what I good experience I had. I will be coming back for future vehicles. Also the sales department bent over backwards to get me a good price, I am vary pleased with the result.

They have a friendly website, which is a great way to start a vehicle search. Once we were on the lot, Marty helped us, but also gave us time and space to do our own shopping and thinking. When we finally made our choice of which to buy, we were on a different lot many miles away. We just gave Marty a call and put a down payment on the vehicle to ensure it would be there when we got back to Middleton. Everything went smoothly!

I am an unabashed hater of all things car-salesmen. I hate the haggling, lack of transparency and just about everything that accompanies typical car salesmen and have had many, many experiences with what I would call downright jerks (and unpleasant memories of my family members having the same experiences). This was such a totally different experience from what I have been used to expecting. I saw the car I was interested in listed online without any photographs. I had emailed the dealership just wondering if any photos could be posted. Patrick was pretty prompt in texting some photos of the vehicle (I think this might have even been after-hours) to help me make my car-buying decision. What I appreciated most about everything was the transparency of it all, several times I was reassured of the total price of the vehicle up front with no tricks/gotchas. The vehicle was priced fairly and reasonably. I drove five and a half hours from Iowa (eleven hours total) and along the way questioned if I was wasting my time or if any gimmicks would be pulled last minute. I was very, very happy with how honest, fair, simple and transparent the whole process and experience was. Would definitely recommend this dealership to friends/family. Thanks again!

My husband and I were in the market for a larger vehicle to cart around our baby boy arriving in the near future. We had heard great things about Schoepp Motors in Middleton and decided to drop by on Memorial Day. We had an idea of what we wanted to spend and generally that we wanted a truck for safety and space reasons. Mike Douglas assisted us in tracking down the perfect vehicle. He is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and helpful! We were incredibly satisfied with our entire experience. He wanted our business and was willing to work with the owner directly to make sure we left satisfied customers. He made the process fun and the interaction felt very personal. We got an incredibly fair deal for a gorgeous vehicle. We didnt know it when we came in, but it was exactly what we wanted and needed! As an aside, we were incredibly impressed that the owner was at the location on a holiday. It was very clear he was passionate about his work and it is reflected in the many great reviews and outstanding reputation of Schoepp Motors. I just bought my third car from Schoepp Motors and I have never had as good an experience as I did with Shane. The sales guy I worked with the last time I was shopping for a car is still with Schoepp but no longer in sales, so he asked Shane take care of me this time. Shane called to see what I was looking for and had the vehicle I most wanted to test drive ready in front when I arrrived. He was really easy to work with; laid back but also professional. He got me a great deal on a vehicle I love. Not only is Shane the one I’ll come back to at Schoepp, he’s the one I’m telling my friends and family to ask for next time they’re looking for a new used car.

Charlie was so helpful in getting us a new car after losing our old one in an accident. We did most of our research on their website and when we reached out to him about a car and he was willing to get everything taken care of for us. By the time we went in to do the paperwork he had everything all ready to go and we were in and out in 20 minutes. I was the easiest car buying experience I ever had.

So I spoke with Ryan on Tuesday and set up to come in Wed after work. On Wed I called another Schoepp location but did not get a good feeling in how Jake sounded in his responses to me, sort of like I was bothering him. I went to meet with Ryan and nobody knew where he was. Chris was outside waiting for me even before I turned off my car (my thought was oh boy here we go like shark bait lol. I was pleasantly wrong. I test drove a 2015 Corolla - and as soon as I sat in the car I knew it was what I wanted. Then we went in and started discussing financing, which my credit is not good so I was not hoping for much. It took some time as they wanted to wait for all of the banks to respond to get me the best deal. Yes, my payments are slightly more than I would have liked, but it is not their fault my credit is like it is. I even got something for the car I traded in (which needs quite a bit of work before they can attempt to make anything off of it). Chris and finance (Amy) never made me feel less than and even let me vent. In addition, they even spoke with me regarding some suggestions on how I can possibly refinance in a year or so with working on some of my credit stuff and making payments. This was my first time buying a car without knowing anybody there to help me (whether it be friends along or people who worked at the dealer). The only way it could have been better is if my payments were lower, but they are manageable and again, it is not the fault of the dealer or financier that my credit is the way it is. Ive been looking for a new car for about 6-9 months without any luck. I went to see Jake at Schoepp and within 20 minutes I was test driving my dream car! Jake and Juan both listened intently to the requirements and standards I had for my new vehicle. We went through all the pros and cons of the vehicle and how it would fit into my lifestyle and if it was financially appropriate for me to buy the car. I was extremely impressed by the hoops that the store jumped through to ensure that I left a happy customer. Jake helped me feel confident in making a major purchase. There was no pressure to buy the vehicle and he even offered to keep his eye out for me if there was something else that would come into their lot.
