Amazing customer service. Wanted to buy Christmas books for my 3 grandchildren that live in Newport. I live in Virginia. Called the store and a very knowledgeable women picked out 3 perfect gifts and got it out to them. Personal service you can only get when you shop local. Can’t wait until our next visit and when we can come by.

A wonderful local book store run by people who know and love books and reading. Experience something wonderful while this type of book store still exists! You can efficiently buy a specific book online or in a big box. But you wont learn about a range of books and authors from someone who is widely read and can recommend or skillfully help you purchase something appropriate and memorable for another except in a store like Island Books. Great supply of local island and regional books and a wonderful range of cards and small gifts. Free wrapping available on non- corporate paper with personality!

You know those book stores that are big, impersonal and poorly curated? This isn’t that. From free gift wrapping to EXCELLENT birthday gifts for all ages, this place has it all. My favorite are the reading chairs in the back...
