It a great local bookstore that caters to the nearby Wesleyan University. The staff is great and knowledgeable about whatever you need to find. Their used book section is a personal favorite

Loved it! I really enjoyed the handwritten book reviews. Found several new reads that I might have other wise considered. One review still had me thinking about it the next day. I also found a perfect gift for my dad that I never expected to find there. It was my first time visiting but wont be my last.

What a great place to meet friends for a treat and look around for that perfect gift. So many great books and gifts.

This book store is incredibly huge and has a great selection too. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. even they do t have what you are looking for they are more then willing to order it for you. It has 2 floors too and an elevator for the handicapped.

Nice, clean, mapped out for foot traffic University book store. While the Cafe is limited during the pandemic, I believe it has a to go offerings. I cannot personally attest to it but think I saw that for coffee anyhow. Books are available here by professors at Wesleyan University. That is unique in itself to warrant a trip. RJ Julia also caters to University approved apparel and gifts. A must visit for alum, students and fans of Wesleyan University.

This bookstore is basically a place to meet friends for coffee while people associated with Wesleyan choose from a huge selection of University junk. Current publications are much cheaper online and seem to be its only forte. ... this has to be one of the biggest waisted spaces I have ever seen and there is allot of it.I suggest a used book area downstairs would be a huge improvement . The tiny used book store that closed a year plus ago across the street was Infinitely more interesting . It was actually a bookstore.

Great bookstore. They do awesome story times on Saturdays. They have author signings and events on and publish an monthly schedule of all they offer. On top of that a tasty restaurant inside which is a little pricey but you get what you pay for!

Nice bookstore. Their display philosophy does highlight different books than their big box competition. Not as cozy as the Madison store. Posted staff recommendations are interesting . Personnel are pleasant, not pushy, and very helpful.

Such a positive and socially just place

Its nice to actually pick up a book and hold it in your hands and browse through its contents without downloading a sample and staring at your phone or tablet. The store is surprisingly casual and comfortable. It brought back memories of visiting Walden Books or Borders. Visit their store just to keep this place open and give your kids the opportunity to enjoy a book without the restrictions and coldness of your local library.

This is beautiful bookstore which feels more like a welcoming library, but you are free to enjoy the organic food cafe which is in the bookstore. I would hang out here more had it not been for the tricky parking. There is limited parking behind the bookstore but it is hard to find.

Staff is helpful and very pleasant. Large selection of books as well as a variety of unique little gift items. Store is visually appealing and bright and also has a small snack bar. Went there to get a book signed by Jacques Pepin. Parking available right in front of the store.

We ate at Grown in the bookstore. Definitely recommend! Fantastic fresh options, vegan options, asked about any food allergies we might have. The staff were very friendly and helpful! Great place!!

Lovely, welcoming book store. Carries great content and everything is arranged to navigate easily. The associate there was so nice and gave me great suggestions. I really enjoyed the little blurb recommendations on the shelves.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this store. There are hardly any book stores nowadays other than Barnes & Noble, so Im excited about the Wesleyan book store. It brings a bit of variety to the book scene with a unique and refreshing selection of reading material. Staff recommendations are on display accompanied with handwritten notes about each selection, which brings a personal touch to your browsing experience. Theres a small coffee shop in the store, so you can buy a latte to sip on while you browse, or you can find a chair to enjoy your coffee while you indulge in a book. Outdoor seating is also available. Downstairs offers a quiet space for students to study or get some reading done. The staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy working there. For book lovers, Wesleyan book store offers the ultimate book store experience. If youre passing by, stop in and take a look around so you can see for yourself!

The stores design and furnishings is very open, inviting and comfortable. The downstairs area is a great place to relax and read. The coffee is good, and the baked goods are amazing. The only thing I would caution people about is the food. Its very tasty, but the portion sizes are a little small and the price feels outrageous. If it wasnt for how amazing the baked goods are and at such a reasonable price, I would have deducted a star for that reason.

What a great atmosphere at this bookstore. We were just passing through, but despite being a college town this place was relaxing. Not super loud or quiet, had a coffee bar upstairs and a study area downstairs. Lots of variety in the types of books you can purchase. Enjoyed looking at the large selection. Would visit again.

A wonderful bookstore with a great assortment of travel lecture! They used a lot of wood for the interior, this create a cozy and welcoming feeling in the store! Its always worth to wander around and look for a new book. Although the coffee shop in the front of the bookstore is great!

Great cafe for lunch. They cater to all allergies and vegan diets. Foods is very tasty, even my companions a 2 and 3 year love it. Super nice staff

Excellent location with a great range of wonderful books. Food is tasty with decent portions, a wee bit pricey. Service very attentive. Ill return for a slice of carrot cake which apparently sellouts.

Great place to have a light lunch, then browse the books and gifts. We really enjoyed the Chicken Tortilla soup. The salad I got was above average - would definitely try a different one next time. Staff is friendly and they do a nice job with gift wrapping.

Kinda rude, Kinda stuffy. Got an americano, had to wait 20 minutes to drink it, as it was next to boiling. The coffee wasnt scorched, so Im guessing the water added was too hot.

My daughter and I visited Wesleyan today, and after we stopped by for a sandwich at this bookstore and was astounded to be charged $18 and change for a Sandwich. I live in New York and know a thing or two about high prices, but still...

School bookstore downstairs with some comfortable seating for studying. Upstairs (main floor) houses the regular book selection, as well as Wesleyan-themed clothing & memorabilia. Staffers were friendly and helpful.

What can I say? Five stars to a school where my daughter is and five stars to their new bookstore that includes the Middletown community.

Great space to hear authors talking about their work.

I have been inside of the store once since it opened and I do go by it most every day. I has a wide range of books for sale from what I Have seen they lean very much to the left but, that should not be a surprise because Wesleyan tends to lean in that direction. They do have a large selection of gifts that one can buy to say nothing of the schools support items.I will be going back one of these days and seeing what I might find on the right side.
