Trustworthy and honest. I’ve been taking my Volvo S60 in for maintenance the last few years. I prefer them so much I will drive 45 minutes, rather than going to a mechanic nearby. The customer service, and the mechanics’ work at Higher Standards, have been consistently phenomenal. They really live up to their name, I highly recommend taking your car here!

Ashley was and still is an absolute wonder to work with. She listened to all of the issues we were having with the car, got us in, had her technician run a diagnostics and found our issue in under an hour. My car was barely able to make it to the shop and left running dang near good as new by just repairing a faulty wire.I do want to reiterate that when going through Higher Standards, I had the most pleasure speaking with Ashley. I dont believe she is the one that does any of the repairs but she worked with us and went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. For example, there was a rubber boot on a valve in my car that was torn and not allowing the technician to complete his diagnostics. This origianlly was a $500 part but Ashley found the part at the nearby junk yard and replaced it for only $35! Amazing place, amazing people, and a very honest place to get work done on your vehicle.Higher Standards comes highly recommended by me!

Dont be fooled, this was Draves auto that we have used for 15 years, it has been bought by higher standards. It is not the same place, prices are way up, seems very cooperate.

Took my Jeep there for ABS lights all on and ABS malfunctioning and for them to just replace 2 - oxygen sensors. Had a super hard time getting ahold of them - didnt answer most of my calls so I had to leave a message.. I have done a lot of work to it recently, I explained all of the things to the guy at the desk, he was unable to relay those things to the mechanic. So the mechanic decides to spend 2 days looking at the electrical on the Jeep against my advice while the desk guy argued with me on the phone making analogies about throwing mud at a wall in reference to me wanting them to replace 2 oxygen sensors that I knew were faulty. I had to call several times to get them to agree to just do that. Guess what, that fixed the issue. Other issue, they called saying it was all fixed and that it had been test drove and the ABS was fixed & O2 sensor codes gone. I paid over the phone as I couldnt pick it up til after hours. I wasnt even out of their lot before all the ABS lights came back on. I called and was told they did test drive it, but that the test drive was performed during a procedure to relearn the steering angle sensor. But NOT after that procedure was done.... hmm. Over the course of 5 days this shop changed my 2 oxygen sensors, cost me $428 just for that, everything else that was done included in that price, did not actually fix my vehicle despite them trying to say its fixed and now to take my vehicle to another shop who in 1 day diagnosed the ABS issue without hassling me. This shop does not seem to respect women and that they might actually know things about their own vehicle. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Great work by Higher Standards! My Subaru dealer wanted me to replace a CV axle and replace the boot in the other for around $2000. I decided to wait and get another opinion. In the meantime, I started hearing a rattling in the engine compartment. Based on Google reviews and recommendation from someone my wife knows, I wanted Higher Standards to check out the CV axles and noise. Well come to find out the axles were fine and a heat shield connector rusted/broke making the more recent noise. $50 dollars later and same day service I had my Subie back! Thanks Higher Standards for honesty, quick turnaround, professionalism, and saving me a lot of money!

My car broke down about 90 minutes from home. It lost all power. I am NOT a mechanic but it was clear that it lost everything electrical. I told them on the phone it was most likely battery or alternator. Please diagnose.They diagnosed a bad alternator and quotes me $640. $640! I new alternator cost AT MOST $135 from shopping around the local auto parts stores. A new serpentine costs $10. So thats $145 in parts. Maybe they marked it up to $240 just for the markup we all know garages do even though they get parts cheaper than the consumer. That leaves $400 for labor.Folks its a VW Beetle. The alternator is easily accessable from the front. Theres no underneath. Nothing difficult. I bought an alternator and had it installed in about an hour. Maybe 1 hr 15 min. AND LET ME REPEAT IM NOT A MECHANIC. So their time is no more than an hour. They have the perfect tools and experience. I watched a you tube video for guidence. It took me longer.What kind of mechanic with Higher Standards charges $400 for a 1 hr labor job?Their higher standards must not be in standards of integrity.Oh and they charged me $105 for the diagnosis. In my experience that diagnosis would be $35-50 max.

I recently had some engine trouble with my valve cover gaskets on my 1998 Dakota. Higher Standards diagnosed it along with a couple of other issues. They took care of everything and returned my truck to my new address all while I was out of town. They worked around my schedule and did an excellent job for a fair price. Theyre very professional and easy to work with. Nothing beats having the peace of mind knowing your vehicle is in good hands, the job is done right the FIRST time, and youre paying a fair price! Higher Standards is an amazing shop. I had several issues with my car over the past month, which is unfortunate for my wallet. But the owners and staff here were amazing in being able to promptly get me in. One of the issues was even an immediate safety one and they stayed late to get it fixed for me without charging me any overtime costs. They are professional and very clear in explaining issues and answering questions. As a younger female, we always are concerned about mechanics just trying to take advantage of us, but these guys have 100% earned my trust. I wont take my car anywhere else now and highly recommend them to everyone I know.

I took my baby, the 2003 G35 with just a little over55, 000 miles on her, to Higher Standards Automotive. I had an electrical window problem on the drivers side and a lock problem on the passenger side, and some belt issues under the hood. My car now is running in tip top shape, all issues resolved in a timely manner. After leaving the shop I tested her out on the expressway and she handled like a champ.They later in the week, checked up with me to make sure she was running fine. Thanks guys for awesome service!

Higher Standards did a great job on our recent car repair. They listened to my explanation about the car’s problems and quickly identified the needed repairs. They worked with our schedule to get it fixed. I appreciated a follow up a few days later to make sure everything was working well and we were satisfied with all the repairs.

I took my older car in to have the sunroof fixed and was very pleased with the results. They are very thorough - let me know what they were going to do, why, and how to prevent it from happening again. If you want quality work done by honest people this is the place to go.

I got referred by 2 other repair places (who were too busy to help me with a coolant-leak emergency) and Im so glad I did! When I called, I told them I needed help ASAP and they made room in their schedule, got me in right away. When I told them everyone else was too busy to help their response was, Were busy too, but were going to make time to help you out. They were so accommodating while I waited with my 4 month old daughter in their waiting room. They allowed me to use their desk as a changing table and provided me with bottled water so that I could make my baby a bottle when she got fussy. I am beyond impressed with the owner and all of his employees! I do not plan to take my car anywhere else in Midland.

Love these guys. Dave, Skip and Josh very honest very knowledgeable and able.Ive had a factory recall done on the window switch at the dealer. Got the car back with the dealer telling me there was an electrical problem which had to be searched out for a diagnostic fee. Took it to Dave and Josh to find our the switch needed to be programmed and the dealer didnt do his job right to start. Thank God I went to them instead of having the dealer check the electrical for a problem. Dave and Josh had it fixed in about an hour.

Dave, Josh and Tyler are the best guys around. And theyre really good at fixing cars. This is the only place I take my BMWs. I own a 550i and an X5 SUV and Dave takes care of both of my German built vehicles. There isnt a more skilled or compassionate mechanic in the Tri Cities.
