I didnt like the conditions they gave for having a car assessed. The fact that clients had to leave their cars with the company for 3 days before it can be assessed didnt sound convenient at all. And that doesnt even include repair time. Moreover, their services were pricey.

We were in desperate need to get our truck fixed so we could continue our cross-country trip home. GOOD NEWS - The ford dealership had a 2 week waiting list so I went to Lone Star. They had me out the door in 2 days!! Workmanship appears very professional. They even inspected my vehicle saving me time in the near future.BAD NEWS - When the technician called me for my estimate, he said the air filter was dirty and needed to be replaced. I checked my auto log and told him that the filter was replaced in 5 months ago. I declined offer and checked it myself...it was in great shape. I also gave them a coupon for free towing downloaded from their website. I was charged $ 165 and given $85 credit for the coupon leaving a charge of $80. Technician said the coupon had an $80 minimum. The coupon does NOT indicate that whatsoever, so requested a refund. They complied.This was my first visit and plan to use them again in the future. I plan to be more diligent when discussing estimates and prices, but am VERY GRATEFUL FOR THEM ATTENDING ME ASAP!!!

I brought one of my vehicles up there to have serviced and it was the best service I have had in a long time. I was offered a free ride to anywhere i needed and they picked me up when it was finished. They changed my oil and cleaned the inside of the vehicle and placed an air freshener, which was quite nice. I took the same vehicle up there to have a wheel repaired and they worked with a 3rd party out of lubbock for the repair. No extra charge and the service was phenomenal. Every time I have had the pleasure of stopping in the entire staff has made me feel right at home and like a member of the family. The last time I was there for some routine service on my Chevy SS I was a little short on time. The owner actually pitched in to speed things along. When was the last time that happened?I highly recommend the fine folks at Lone Star and I will be back.Update: I was back on July 22, 2016 to have a flashing brake light system installed on my Chevrolet SS Performance Sedan. Eric was able to figure out the custom installation that was complicated by the newer computer controlled electrical system. An installation that stymied a large Chevy dealer in Arizona. The job was completed and an oil change completed in just over 2 hours.It is always a real pleasure to stop in and see such a busy shop that is very clean, unlike many independent auto shops.

Wanted to charge $300 more than anybody else I spoke to.

My truck has over 108k miles on it and things just started going wrong with it. I took it to Lone Star and within a day they had a complete summery of everything going on. To no surprise...it needed a lot and we were also in the middle of a major ice/snow storm. Not only did they get all of my repairs done but they got it done days before they initially said it would be ready. I was very impressed because of the weather we were having. Roger and the staff at Lone Star took good care of me and my truck and I would strongly recommend using them for any of your vehicle needs. I just got finished at Lonestar Automotive and had the best oil change experience ever. They were fast and everyone was so sweet. Mikey, Louisa, and Alexis were very accommodating and got me in and out of there. They changed my oil, windshield wipers, air filter, and put air in my tires in an hour. Rude to women. I stopped going here after several instances where the same guy (who seems to be the manager, or maybe the owner?) basically told me not to worry my pretty little head. It was all the bad stereotypes about being a woman and taking your car to a mechanic. He wouldn’t look me in the eye and he answered my questions with sarcasm or sometimes not at all. But when I went in later with my father accompanying me... then all of a sudden they were all helpful and polite. But they were polite to my dad, never to me. Even though it’s my car and my money. I’ll never go back to this place.

They were timely and called after a few days to be sure that I was happy with the work. They also gave me my AAA discount without me having to ask for it. Sadly my car is a POS so Ill be headed back. Good thing I like them!

Lone Star worked on my 2007 Dodge 3500 last summer when the A/C compressor seized. The dealership wanted an unbelievable amount of money to diagnose and fix the problem, even though the problem was obvious. I had driven by Lone Star for years and thought I would stop by for a quote.First, the place is spotless clean, unlike any other auto place I have been to. Second, they are nice to you, and not abrasive like most shops. Third, their rates were MORE than fair, and their work was top notch. They had my truck back on the road the next day, when Dodge told me it would be up to four days for parts. Their labor was less than the dealership by far...When I came to pick the truck up, they had washed it, and vacuumed it too. It looked better than when I left it there... My wifes car is going in for tires and struts next week. I would recommend them to anyone. A good honest shop is almost impossible to find. They have my business from now on.If you are looking for an honest shop in Midland, look no further.

Since my mechanic moved out of state, I have been hesitant to search for a new shop to service my car. I rolled the dice with Lone Star, and I won.Lone Star Automotive seems to have the business sense that if you treat a customer honestly and fairly, they will come back. This is a direct opposite of many shops, who will squeeze every dollar they can from you and rely on the sheer number of available suckers in existence to keep their business afloat.A few things that stuck out for me about Lone Star Automotive were:• The final price for my work was much lower than what was initially quoted.• They have a free shuttle truck. The guy is friendly, tip him please.• The turn around for my repair was lightning fast. I spent less than 24 hours without a vehicle.• The overall friendliness and genuine care these people show their customers.I will be going back, and I recommend you do, too.

If i could give them a 1/2 star I would have. Im a Pro mechanic in charge of a shop and after 3 time of having the unit towed there for the same reason and nearly 5k in previous repairs with parts that had just been changed a month earlier by another shop, so the same parts were swapped by them the second time. They wanted another $6380.84 to change out the system because they couldnt figure this out the first time. Master parts swapper, not a mechanic. Might be good place to get a service done? I had it towed back and did the troubleshooting myself. I said that I wouldnt pay for the repair when they came the last time to pick it up but I will end up paying the tow and diagnosis fees anyway. It was an older unit and if they would have said that we should just have the system deleted I wouldnt have an issue. Shops here just they figured that companies here have all kinds of cash to throw around and they wanted their piece of it, I have no respect for a shop that does that type of business. Im sure they wouldnt do that type of business for a mother. Thats how I expect my mechs to do business even though its a company shop.

I know they were very busy by the looks of things, but felt like they went out of their way to accomodate me.The shop was immaculate and had very high tech looking equipment. I had a small problem and it was taken care of immediately.

They look for issues other than what you wanted repaired. Parts are double the costs of Dealers, labor is way too high .

Sent a late model GMC in for spark plug change, oil change and diagnostics for rough idle. They would not install my OEM parts I brought because they wanted to sell me the exact same parts. Their up sell was broken motor mounts and plugs wires, and the truck ran and drove fine when I left it there. No indication of mount issues, which I know what that feels like, and wanted to charge $5800 to fix. Just felt like same old oilfield gouging like everyone does here. Never again and my company will not use anymore either cause if they’re doing it to individuals they’re for sure taking advantage of my company as well.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! We were in town working and our work van broke down. We called everywhere and was told it would be a week or longer before they could fix it. Lone Star got to us immediately and had us back on our job site by that afternoon. They saved us. They didnt price gauge us either!! We were so surprised at our bill! We expected to pay a lot more. These guys are a rarity in the Permian basin!!!!! Jeff was out mechanic and he was amazing !!!!!

I was towed here late at night after my Corvette developed a fuel leak! The next morning they let me know they dont work on cars over 15 years old. While I was scrabbling to try and make other plans Roger said, give me the keys, let my guys take a look. They looked it over, found the problem right away, and reattached a disconnected clamp. Problem solved. Roger and everyone here was very nice, and eager to help. Highly recommend if you have a newer car!

Amazing service and great people! My turn signal was malfunctioning. I called up Lone Star Automotive. They told me to come on in and theyd look at it. It was just a bulb issue. So, they fixed it and within 30 minutes, I was out and door and on my way!

My engine light came on in my Jeep Rubicon. I decided to take it to Lone Star Automotive thinking the cost would be less than the dealer. Boy was I wrong! I had them do the diagnostic test, and it was found that I would need to replace the computer control unit (PCM). I was advised that this part would be $1,900. I asked why it costs so much, and they advised me that it was because it had to come from the dealer. In essence, the total cost for this part and installation and programming would run a little over $2,800. After I came out of the shock of the price for this repair, I called the local Jeep dealership here in Midland and was advised the part was $1,310.00. and the installation and programming would be $250.00. Totally blew away my assumption that the dealerships would be much more. I cant see how they stay in business with prices almost double the price of dealerships!

The staff is amazing they went out of there way to help me on a day that was incredibly busy for them. And there work is first rate. Ill definitely be recommending them.

As far as I’m concerned, Lone Star is the only place to take your car in Midland.They are fast and knowledgeable, but maybe most importantly willing to educate. Not your typical grease monkeys or lube place. When I needed to leave my vehicle with them bc my AC went out at the height of the summer heat, they shuttled me half way to Odessa for work. It was returned to me within 24 hours cleaner than I had left it, and all issues fixed. They’ve been great for everything else since then too.If you’re looking for friendly, clean, and professional place to take you’re ride – definitely check em out!

I couldnt have been happier with the Service I was provided at Lone Star Automotive. I was in Midland visiting family when I hit a pot hole causing damage to my radiator and air conditioner. I was basically stuck with avehicle that I could not drive home. My car could only go so far before it would overheat. So I went to the nearest garage. So Lone Star Automotive it was. The service that I got could only be describes as Fantastic. I was in a bind and they knew it. I also let them know that I was needing to head home. Instead of taking advantage of my situation they went above and beyond to assist me. To my amazement, they were able to get the parts and complete the repairs that day. The entire experience was professional from start to finish. I would definantly recommend this shop in the future.

I took my F250 in for an oil leak right before Thanksgiving. I was told up front it would be 4 business days to have the truck looked at. This shop is really busy and they were clear letting me know when I should expect an estimate based on their inspection. I heard back from the shop in three business days!I ended up needing to replace several injectors and I also opted to have a service done as well.Eric the mechanic that worked on my truck, was very professional, thorough, and considerate. He had me come in, showed me the issue(s), and advised a repair plan. Eric knew what he was talking about and it made the experience that much better.In addition I have an extended service warranty which Lonestar accepts and got the approvals as needed to process a claim.Luisa the customer liaison was great as well. She stayed in communication with me almost daily with the status of the repairs.For those of you new to Midland getting service done same day or close to it simply is not possible if you are needing major repairs. Service shops are backed up due to the high volume of folks coming to the area. The wait was worth it for me as the service level, communication, and professionalism was 2nd to none.Follow up 1-8-2020Took my truck in for new pads on the front. After inspection the tech agreed that my front pads needed changing and the rear pads were close. I requested a price to have the both the front and back pads changed and the rotors turned.Roger was very helpful and responsive however after receiving the quote I chose to take my truck to another shop. I was quoted over $1300 to have pads changed and the rotors re surfaced. Simply ridiculous. While Roger did attempt to explain the pricing, being 3 times higher than the dealership crazy to me.I picked my truck up dropped it off at the Rogers Ford in Midland and had the same service performed the same day I dropped it off for $420.I appreciate the customer service but the cost to useLonestar simply did not work for me on this deal.This shop does great work but make sure you are getting multiple quotes or you could end up spending way too muchThank you,Shawn

Lonestar Automotive is the only place I will ever take my truck again. After going to three different shops in Midland, spending over $5000 on diagnostics and what might fix the problem and being without my truck for over a month, I finally heard about Lonestar Automotive and decided to give them a try. Within one day of dropping the truck off, I was back on the road and the problem has never acted up again. I have been back to them four times, each for a different issue, and I have never left feeling anything but greatly satisfied. They have the best diesel mechanics in the game, who are experienced and truly know what theyre doing on any year model. Their customer service is outstanding, the time it takes them is very short, and their prices are unbeatable considering they fix it right the first time and they truly value their customers.

They do great work! Very professional team and front office staff. I got an AC Compressor replacement on our 2011 Toyota Highlander- a little on the pricey side, but thats part of getting quality work, and also part of living in Midland where most things cost more.

They said yes 5 days it’s been 5 weeks I call and they said “ the car is to low to the ground to fit on our lifts and they didn’t have a way to get it in the shop” Lewis was supposed to have called you No one called me the car is stock with stock wheels and suspension it’s not low at all

Took my car to have a simple thing checked out (AC/throttle issue), I was told they would call me by the evening to let me know whats going on with the vehicle....2 days later I hear nothing and decide to drive by the shop and my car is still in the parking lot, untouched! I ended up taking my car to the dealership and got it fixed the next day....I am sure I payed a little bit more at the dealership but hey I would rather pay more to the dealer for quick and excellent service than these lazy incompetent douchebags!Bottom line: I will never go to Lone star NOR recommend this place to anyone!
