Clean store and all the merchandise was off the floor and pretty organized. Only negative thing I have to really say is the lack cashiers. I only counted 2 and there is several other checkout lanes, which caused there to be a long line of customers. Kinda reminds me of Walmart. Good note, the cashier was very respectful and sociable. Had a great smile.

When Academy first came to Odessa/Midland area, it was exciting to go. And although products and prices are still top notch, i guess its just kind of getting boring to go. Maybe its time to re arrange the inside or maybe provide some new and exciting amenities.

This location was neatly organized and the staff are all friendly. The line to pay at the register may seem long but the cashiers are fast. The young man in the firearms department Matthew helped me make a purchase. He is extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience smooth. Will definitely shop at this location again.

Ok I did it so you dont have to, the neon green Lazer poles, open face is an absolute must 💚, and for that I thank you!!the closed face however is the biggest waste of money, do yourself a favor and get a Zebco before getting that...

I just called and spoke to Liz/Lu whatever the apparel managers name is and she was definitely not the manager type. I shopped there yesterday and spent almost $200 on Nike shirts and none of them were properly sensored so they all have holes in them!! That’s sad as a store that carries majority apparel, the manager fails to teach their employees this SIMPLE concept of how to sensor. You are supposed to sensor along the seam of the collar so there aren’t holes just in case they don’t get this training and I guess this store fails to teach their employees this.

Horrible.... Store doesnt have a section for toddler boys buy do have a section of boys. All they have is girls and toddler girls.

I noticed that even the under armour clothing items I buy here fall apart, have small holes or tears that get bigger once I wash, or have a stain that I didnt see in the store. I mean the last 5 times I have gotten clothing here, spending $200-$300, its been regrettable.

I understand standing demand for a gun with Biden in office. But there wasnt much of a selection at all!!! Hope you are getting more soon...I mean REALLY SOON!

This is one of the most horribly stocked Academy stores I have ever been in. Every isle has huge open empty spots and tags hanging everywhere telling you to order online. I love Academy but this store is the worst.

This store is terrible!! They sold me a broken gun safe, when returned they said it would take 2 days for my money to go back on my card, it took 5. Have also sold me a malfunctioning shotgun that wouldn’t chamber a second shell after initially firing, they don’t return or replace firearms so it took just shy of two months to be replaced through the manufacturer!

Justin the guy in charged of the fitness center was rude and walked away while we tried to explained that we were missing parts from the gym equipment we bought. The only person willing to fix our problem and make calls to fix our issue was Tom from the warehouse, how embarrassing that the guy at the warehouse is willing to make costumer happy instead of the actual manager. Bad bad bad management!!

They got really cheap FRCs. Got some Carhartt FRC pants for like 80 bucks. They got wranglers for like 60

Not used to academy employees with a lack of enjoyment in their job. Hopefully, they find a way to enjoy customer service and their job. Good luck management.

Worst customer service!! I bought their last womens bike available and asked if I could come back and pick up because I didnt have room with the kids and it would fit better in a truck. They said yes but then resold the bike within minutes. They didnt even put a label that said it has been paid for with my name on it. One of the cashiers said she didnt know why we didnt take it in the first place. Manager did ask if I wanted to wait a few more days until they received more bikes at 20%off but who know how long that would take.

Justin in customer service was more than helpful. We have had a very hard time replacing a damaged backboard on our basketball hoop due to COVID and many companies and resources being closed during this trying time. We had tried to order a replacement on Academy online and ran into several roadblocks. This was upsetting as we only had the hoop for about 2 months before it got damaged. Justin was so helpful in working out a solution with us. Truly the best customer service during this time.

The staff is helpful but sometimes you have to look for them. I have noticed an improvement in the shoe department. It is organized and more of a selection.

Could not get service at all in gun department. They had very few but I want to buy the ruggar but no one want to help me and they had No Ammo for anything, crazy.

I went in with my baby in her carseat expecting to be able to put her in a cart but there wasn’t any when I arrived. So I was struggling holding her while trying to shop when Frank saw me and asked if he could get me a cart. He not only got me a cart but saw I had my hands full and helped put her in the cart for me. I knew then I had to write him a review because you don’t see customer service like that anymore.Thank you Frank.

This academy has a good selection of product. I would say that it is very expensive compared to online retailers. Was told that they do not price match.

Love going here for camping and sports gear! We also love it when shoes and clothes are on discount! We even got our tazer here! Be careful if youre wanting to go in a hurry on the weekends because lines can get pretty long, other than that its a great and clean store! Would definitely be going back!

Beautiful place for shopping.

This store always has everything you would expect them to have and many more things that you wouldnt expect them to have. Sometimes I visit just to look around with no real plan of buying anything just so I can see what all they have. I find several items that I never noticed before. The line to check out can seem kind of long occasionally, but it definitely goes down fast with their checkout system they have in place.

I normally love Academy, but this was such a terrible experience. I went to the gun department and asked for help and the guy says, “after I get done pricing this stuff”! I don’t know about y’all, but to me, customer service comes first. Prices mean nothing if you have no one to sell to. Extremely disappointed.....

I used to compare it to Walmart. But at least Walmart has kids winter coats.
